Harriet Groninger

She was well known to be quite expressive when telling a story. While reading Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven to her class many years ago on a very warm, early spring day, a large raven flew in the open window, around the room, and out the window again. She was unaware of the humor shared nationwide, until her daughter called from San Francisco the next day to say there was a small article reporting the irony on the front page of the San Francisco paper.
She was born October 5, 1906 in Natrona, PA to the late Rev., Dr. David P., and Minerva (McCandless) Williams.
