Mary Elizabeth Souders, 83, of New Cumberland, died Monday, November 28, 2005, at home.
She was formerly a beautician and the owner for over 46 years of Mary Souders Beauty Salon, New Cumberland,; a former model in New York City and local hair shows; she traveled abroad to attend international competitions; a member of Full Gospel Church of God, Camp Hill and enjoyed flowers and Gardening;
Ms Souders was born September 18, 1922 in Gettysburg.
Surviving are two daughters; grandchildren, Timothy Ladika, Tanya Ladika, Jamie Ladika, Erica Hodges, Heather Hodges, and Stevie Hodges; several great grandchildren, Hope Ruda, Ivy Ruda, Jocelynn Hessler; her cat, Joey.
Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with Bob Steele, Senior Pastor, and A. Alan Alaimo, Pastor, Full Gospel Church of God, Camp Hill. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be held 9 – 10 am Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Humane Society of the of the Harrisburg Area, West Shore Shelter, Sinclair & Eppley Roads, Mechanicsburg, Pa 17055.
Carl J. Arrigo

Carl J. Arrigo, 72, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at Manorcare, Carlisle.
He was a retired senior advertising and marketing director for the former Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, NYC; he graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration; a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles; Young Republicans Club, Williamsport; and was active with the Veterans Administration in Williamsport.
Surviving are three sons, Christopher J. Arrigo and his wife, Jewellene, of Carlisle, Carl J. Arrigo of Harrisburg, and Charles J. Arrigo of Ewa Beach, HI; two grandchildren, Avion M. and Tyler J. Arrigo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Saturday in St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Msgr. William M. Richardson as celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to a memorial fund, c/o Jewellene and Christopher Arrigo, 105 Regency Woods North, Carlisle, PA 17013.

Leona (Lee) Merrow
November 30, 2005
Leona (Lee) Merrow, 81, of New Cumberland, entered eternal rest with her Savior on November 30, 2005, at the Masonic Village Health Care Center, Elizabethtown. She was born October 1, 1924, to Isaac and Leona Smeal at Summit Hall, PA. She and her husband, Allan Merrow of New Cumberland, were married 61 years. Leona was retried from the New Cumberland Army Depot and had previously worked at the Cubi Point Naval Air Station in the Philippines.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Eva Moriarty of Bradenton, FL; a brother, Sylvester Smeal of Hawk Run; brother in law, Matthew Ellis of Suffolk, VA; sisters in law, Alice Smeal of Hawk Run, and Gladys Smeal of Camp Hill. Leona is also survived by a daughter, Sandra Nokovich and her husband, Charles, of Boiling Springs; two sons, Allan Merrow, Jr. and wife Kathy of New Cumberland and Jeffrey Merrow and wife Robin of Etters; former daughter in law, Pamela Taylor Merrow of Valley Green; grandchildren, Jennifer Celaya of Hanover, David Nokovich of Herndon, VA, Crystal Miller of Lewisberry, Tiffany Smith, Lancaster, Joel Merrow of New Cumberland, Christa Giambastian, Madison and Ayden Merrow of Etters; three great grandchildren, Cheyenne Miller, Hanna Celaya, and Emma Lee Celaya.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Berton, Myrl, Guy and Wesley Smeal; five sisters, Dorothy Rothrock, Yvonne Means, Ivera Ellis, Irene Flegal and Minerva Jones.
Leona was a 53 year member of the Community United Methodist Church, New Cumberland where she was active as a Sunday school teacher, board member and served in many other capacities. She was a Red Cross safety and swimming instructor, Cub Scout and Brownie leader, a member of the New Cumberland Woman’s Club and was active in many EEO and other anti-discrimination activities.
Memorial services will be held 11 am Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.

Elaine E. Scheller

Elaine E. Scheller, 69, of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, died Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at Country Meadows, Hampden Twp.
She was a retired claims adjuster, a dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, Allentown, and was an avid gardener and animal lover.
Mrs. Scheller was born October 12, 1936, in Berks County to the late Frederick W. and Hilda (Kerver) Jessen. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Wilfred R. Scheller, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol, and a brother, Lawrence Jessen.
Surviving are a son, Mark W. Scheller, Camp Hill; two daughters, Diane L. Scheller, Clearwater, FL, and Linda M. Barbush, Alpharetta, GA; a brother, Wallace Smith, Carmel, IN; a step grandson, Zachary James Wood.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.

William F. S. Orner

William F. S. Orner, Jr., 72, of Wormleysburg, died Saturday, December 03, 2005, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp.
He was a retired employee of Aetna U.S. Healthcare, PA Medical Society, Camp Hill, Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company, and Capital Blue Cross; a former substitute teacher in the West Shore School District; an Air Force veteran of the Korean War; a graduate of the former William Penn High School, Harrisburg, and the former Shippensburg Teachers College; a co-founder of the West Shore Vikings Midget Football Program.
Mr. Orner was born April 18, 1933, in Muskegon, MI, to the late William F. S. and Mary Elizabeth (O’Toole) Orner. He was preceded in death by a son, William F.S. Orner, III.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine M. (Shade) Orner; a son and his fiancé, Mark H. A. Orner and Suzy Bateman, Wormleysburg; a daughter and her husband, Kristin M. and Brian S. Rogers, New Cumberland; a brother, Thomas J. Orner, Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, William Sean Orner, Lir A. Rogers and Aidan I. Rogers.
Memorial services will be held 11 am Saturday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation will be held 10 – 11 am Saturday in the funeral home.

Ciara Brynne Lightner

Ciara Brynne Lightner, infant daughter of Harold F. and Tiffany (McMillan) Lightner, died Saturday, December 3, 2005, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lewisberry.
Ciara was born August 16th, 2005, in Harrisburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Brock S. Lightner, at home; two sisters, Linnea J. Oakes, Indiana, PA, and Adina M. Lightner, at home; her paternal grandfather, Leon Lightner, Indiana, PA; her maternal grandfather, W. Michael McMillan, Galilea, CA; her maternal grandmother, Angie Wentzel, Etters; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Wednesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Fredrica Meitzen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.

Reverend Bruce C. Hockenberry

Reverend Bruce C. Hockenberry, 79, of Lewisberry, died Friday, December 2, 2005, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was an ordained minister for Churches of God, retiring after serving the Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland, where he remained a member. He also retired as a civil service employee from the former Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown. He was a WWII Army veteran and a graduate of Messiah College, Grantham. Reverend Hockenberry was born October 9, 1926, in Port Royal and was the son of the late Chester G. and Margaret (Troutman) Hockenberry. He was the widower of Clara S. “Mary” (Strine) Hockenberry.
Surviving are a son, Rev. Eugene B. Hockenberry of Lewisberry; a brother, William Hockenberry of Marysville; three sisters, Jessie Carroll of New Cumberland, Dorothy Calhoun of Duncannon and Ruth Ann Bear of Gardeners; two grandchildren, Eugene B. Hockenberry, Jr. and Sondra Mae Schreiner; four great grandchildren, Alexa, Victoria, Karah and Gabriel.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday in Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland with the Rev. Mark Hosler officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Bethel Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Viewing will be held 9 – 10:30 am Wednesday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Fairview Bethel Memorial Mission Fund, 800 Old Forge Road, New Cumberland, PA 17070.
