Bertil E. Saline, 94, of Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg, died Friday, December 2, 2005, at Pinnacle Health at Seidle Memorial Hospital Extended Care, Mechanicsburg.
He was a retired skilled machinist for Brockway Glass Co., Brockway; a member of Glass Bottle Blowers Union, Local # 28, Brockway; a very active member of Moorehead United Methodist Church, Brockway; an avid golfer.
Mr. Saline was born March 15, 1911, in Dagus Mines, PA, to the late John and Ida Saline. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice (Hafner) Saline, and a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Saline.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Robert S. and Deborah S. Saline, Camp Hill; a grandson, Erik S. Saline, a nephew, Allan Saline; and a grand nephew, Patrick Saline.
Memorial services will be held at 7 pm Friday in Oakwood Baptist Church, Camp Hill, with Pastor Robert Conrad officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Memorial Cemetery, Dubois. Visitation will follow the services on Friday in the church.

Elizabeth Jane Snyder

Elizabeth Jane (Killinger) Snyder, 76, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland died Wednesday November 30, 2005 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
She was a member of Camp Hill Church of God and the daughter of the late Lloyd and Isabelle (Barlup) Killinger.
She was the widow of Bruce K. Snyder and is survived by a daughter Sherry May Baney of Etters; a son Kenneth Bruce Snyder of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church at 123 N. 21st St. Camp Hill, PA 17011.
Larry Taliani

Larry Taliani, 54, of Camp Hill died Saturday December 3, 2005 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was an Assistant Director for the PA State Department of Revenue, Harrisburg. Larry was born May 19, 1951 in New Kensington, PA.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Doris (Dawson) Taliani; two daughters, Gina Taliani of West Chester and Kara Taliani of New Cumberland; two sons, Larry and Augie, both at home; his mother in law Maryann Dawson of Camp Hill and her long time companion Jim Patrick; his mother Helen (Fedorka) Taliani; 2 brothers, Tony and Mark; and a sister Mary Lynn Stevens. Larry was blessed with an extended family that was very dear to him which includes his two sisters-in-law, Diane Martin and family; Denise Miller, husband Terry, and family; and brother-in-law Andrew Dawson, wife Kathy, and family. He was deeply grateful for the love and friendship of Linda and Charlie Shambaugh and family, enjoyed the time shared and affection given to him by his “honorary son”, Dave Taylor, and cherished his many friends and co-workers over these past years.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Ragnar W. Ahlberg

Ragnar W. “Bris” “Whitey” Ahlberg, 80, of Lower Allen Twp., Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday, December 07, 2005, at home.
He was a retired customer engineer for Control Data Corp., Harrisburg; a member of VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland and the American Legion Post 0109, Mechanicsburg; a volunteer and member of Lisburn Community Fire Company. He also repaired books for the Red Land Community Library.
Mr. Ahlberg was born June 16, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY, and was the son of Claes F. and Ellen M. (Nysten) Ahlberg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arne F. Ahlberg, a sister, Doris M. Ahlberg, and a great grandson, William Robert.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Winiski Ahlberg; three sons, William F., Warrenton, VA, Raymond B., Laytonsville, MD, and Richard W., Audubon, PA; two daughters, Kathleen M. Bourquin, Ooltewah, TN, Cynthia E. McNaughton, Dover, PA; a brother, Roy A. Ahlberg, Murphys, CA; a sister, Inez Michel Burdick, Sun City Center, FL; eleven grandchildren, Kristen, Eric, Steven, Victoria, Thomas, Matthew, Michelle, Ronald, Jr., James, Nicholas, Amanda.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday in Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisberry.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Hilltop Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Viewing will be 1 – 2 pm Saturday in the church.

Helen R. Bloom

Helen R. Bloom, 83, formerly of Harrisburg died Monday December 19, 2005 in Seidle Memorial Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
She retired as personal secretary to Leslie Handler, Esquire of the former Handler and Weiner Law Firm; attended St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; and was a former member of The Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed, and was very proud of her needlework. Mrs. Bloom was born November 12, 1922 in Philadelphia to the late David and Melissa Reside and was the widow of Delmoyne J. Bloom.
She is survived by two sons, Gary M. Bloom and wife Karen D. of Lewisberry and Ronald L. Bloom of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Stacey, James, Sean and Caitlin; a great granddaughter Breanna Melcher; and a brother-in-law Marlin Bloom and wife Mary of Mechanicsburg.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2005 at 2 pm in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Most Rev. Michael J. Scalzi as celebrant. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.

Mattie Pat Vance
December 15, 2005
Mattie Pat Vance of Paxtang Borough passed away on December 15, 2005 after a serious fall.
Pat was born in Bellville, Georgia on August 18, 1925 where she grew up surrounded by her loving family of 9 siblings and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She attended Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, IL and was employed by the Polyclinic Hospital, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in restaurant management positions with Gimble’s, JCPenney’s, and retired from the Penn Harris Motor Lodge in Camp Hill.
Pat served as a volunteer at several retirement homes where she led residents through various activities. She will be remembered for her exceptional wit and her selfless support for her friends, her family, and even strangers in need.
Pat is survived by her daughter and best friend Rachel Karen Vance and her husband Robert Zeigler of Harrisburg; her son Joseph Anthony Vance and his wife Delores of York Haven; and brother- and sister-in law Stewart and Louise Vance of Harrisburg. She is also survived by her sister Elma Hearn, sister Clara Love and her husband James; brother Joe Riggs and his wife Melrose, all of Georgia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, close friends and admirers.
Pat will be returned to Georgia for her final resting place. Her friends and loved ones are invited to a remembrance of her life at her home on Sunday, January 8, 2006, starting at 2:00 pm. George David Parthemore

George David Parthemore, 60, of Wormleysburg, died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He retired as a Driver, Operator, and Firefighter for the City of Harrisburg Bureau of Fire. George, affectionately known as "Froggy", was appointed to the Bureau on November 4, 1972 and retired on January 9, 2005 after 32 years of service. He proudly wore Badge No. 73. For almost his entire career, George was assigned to the B Platoon, early on as a "relief" driver on Engine 8, but most of his career was spent on Wagon 4.
He was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School; a lifetime member and volunteer firefighter for New Cumberland Fire Dept.; a volunteer fire fighter and engine driver for West Shore Bureau of Fire; a devoted Yankees Fan and a member of several bowling leagues in the greater Harrisburg area.
He was born November 25, 1945, in Carlisle, to the late Joyce (Parthemore) Shupp. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Gilbert J. and Helen H. (Hamburg) Parthemore. Surviving are his wife, Sharon L. (Gingerich) Parthemore; a son, David J. Parthemore of Fort Riley, KS, and currently serving in Iraq; two daughters, Monica R. Parthemore of New Cumberland and Erin Lynn Parthemore of Wormleysburg; a brother, Gilbert W. Parthemore of New Cumberland; three sisters, Bessie P. Ulsh, Kathryn P. Kuhn, and Diane S. Craver, all of New Cumberland; a granddaughter, Isabella Paige Parthemore.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be held 6 – 8 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
