Marie R. McCord, 87, formerly of New Cumberland, died Monday, February 20, 2006, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was a retired employee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Harrisburg; a 1936 graduate of the former William Penn High School, Harrisburg; a former member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland, and a member of St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill where she sang in the choir and prior to that she sang in the choir at Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church; a member and served multiple terms as president of the New Cumberland Woman’s Club; a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Steadfast Chapter number 479; a former member of Capital City Polka Dancers Assn.
Mrs. McCord was born November 29, 1918, in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Flynn) Roush. She was the widow of J. Noel McCord. Surviving are her son, Joel McCord, Annapolis, MD; a daughter, Melissa Leggett, Camp Hill; a sister, Trudie O’Toole, Camp Hill; three granddaughters, Stephanie McCord, Catherine Leggett and Anna Leggett; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday in Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, 3rd and Bridge Streets, New Cumberland with the Revs. Robert Graybill and Keith Eslinger officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Church of God Home, 801 Harrisburg Pike, Carlisle, PA 17013, or to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, Pa. 17011.

Clarence R. Hocker

Clarence R. Hocker, 79, of New Cumberland died Thursday February 23, 2006 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was retired and the former owner of Hocker’s House of Carpets in Lemoyne. He was a WWII Army Infantry veteran and a graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg, Class of 1944. Clarence was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Highland Park where he served on the Church Council, the Usher Team, as Youth Group Advisor and drove the church van to transport congregation members who could not have otherwise attended.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Ann Hocker; 2 sons, John A. and wife Leslie of Mechanicsburg and Thomas D. and wife Dori of New Cumberland; 3 brothers, Chester of Jacksonville, FL, Charles of Etters and David of Oberlin; a cousin and close friend Howard Baum of Carlisle; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bonnie and Carl Patschke of Baltimore, MD; 5 grandchildren, Kathryn, Adam, Dan, Eric and John.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 27, 2006 in his church with the Rev. B. Penrose Hoover, his pastor officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. The family will receive friends immediately following the service during a time of fellowship and refreshment at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Clarence’s name to the Kentland Retreat Center and checks should be made out to Grace Lutheran Church and sent to 1610 Carlisle Rd. Camp Hill, PA 17011. Please include “Kentland” on the memo line.
Patrick J. Casey

Patrick J. Casey, 69, of New Cumberland, died Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was an employee trainer for the Commonwealth of PA, Dept. of Personnel Services, Harrisburg; a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; and was an avid tennis player.
Mr. Casey was born July 13, 1936, in Punxsutawney, PA, to the late Vincent M. and Agnes M. (Cahill) Casey. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Michael Casey, Jr.
Surviving are his sister, Suzanne King, Pittsburgh; three nephews, five nieces and two grand nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday in his church with the Very Rev. J. Michael McFadden as celebrant. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be held 6 – 8 pm Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland where there will be a scripture service beginning at 7:30 pm.

Bob L. Albright

Bob L. Albright, 60, of Fairview Twp., Etters, died February 24, 2006, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.
He was the manager of Kofee Grinder, Colonial Park Mall and was a country and western singer, songwriter, and recording artist. Currently, he was a member of the local band “Blind Joe Death.” Mr. Albright was born August 2, 1945, in Monterey Park, CA, the son of Jack and Phyllis (Shearer) Albright.
Surviving are three sons, Richard W. of Boise, ID, Lidge L. and Clinton G. of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Neva J. Brown of Henderson, NV, and Ravan R. Watson of Lubbock, TX; his step mother, June Albright of York Haven; a brother, Ronny Albright of Fallon, NV; two sisters, Linda B. Robinson and Joyee K. Materazzi both of Etters; seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Kidney Foundation of Central PA, Suite 101 Olde Liberty Square, 4813 Jonestown Road Harrisburg, Pa 17109.

Lisa A. Hoffman, 47, of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, died Saturday, February 25, 2006, at home.
She was a supervisor for Highmark Blue Shield Insurance, Camp Hill; a 1976 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill; a member of Lower Allen Twp. V.F.W. Post 7530; and was a skilled jewelry and stain glass creator..
Lisa was born June 18, 1958, in Harrisburg, the daughter of Shirley E. (Hacker) Stephenson of New Cumberland and Paul L. Himes, Sr. of Lemoyne. In addition to her father and mother, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, James E. Hoffman; a daughter Katharine D. Hoffman of Camp Hill; a brother Paul L. Himes, Jr. of Duncannon; two sisters, Lyndsay M. Moyer and Laurie E. Bordlemay, both of New Cumberland; 14 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Thursday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Carl Ford Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Visitation will be held 6 – 8 pm Wednesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Virginia S. Watts

Virginia S. Watts, 98, of Reading and formerly of New Cumberland, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Reading Hospital.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. She was born February 20, 1908 in Harrisburg to the late Arthur P. and Lenora K. (Fayman) Smolizer. She was preceded in death by her husband R. Vernon Watts and son, Robert Lee Watts.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna Mae Estep and her husband Jay of Fleetwood; four grandchildren, Sharon and Dianne Watts, Debra Helbert, and Douglas J. Estep and five great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at 10am followed by funeral services at 11am Saturday at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Edward W. Swartz

Edward W. Swartz, 55, of Newberry Twp, Etters, died Tuesday, February 28th at Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was a fork lift operator for Genco Distribution Service, Camp Hill. He loved hunting and his pool league at Pub on the Trail. He was born February 1, 1951 in Port Royal to the late Claude M. and Mildred (Kerschner) Swartz.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa A. Swartz; a son, Edward W. Jr. of Greensville, TX; a step-son, Lynn M. Strayer of Dover; a brother, Nevin C. Swartz of Fort Worth, TX; a sister, Debbie Swartz Stoner, of Dauphin; and two grandchildren, Kirsten and Brandi.
Visitation will be at 6pm followed by memorial services at 7pm Sunday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
