Joseph W. Heim

Joseph W. Heim, 64, of Harrisburg, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired employee of Freedman and Company, Camp Hill, and was a Harrisburg Senators Baseball and Philadelphia Phillies Baseball fanatic.
Mr. Heim was born April 22, 1943 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Weyman G. and Helen G. (Bradley) Heim. He was the widow of Diane Heim.
Surviving are his best friend, Jessie M. Watkins of Harrisburg; a son, Joseph W., Jr. of Lancaster; a sister, Sally A. Moyer of Mechanicsburg; a brother, James P. Heim of New Cumberland; and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be held 11 am Thursday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn., Capital Region Division, 4999 Louise Drive, Suite 104, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

John B. Jung
June 8, 2007
John B. Jung, 81, of Allendale, Camp Hill died Friday June 8, 2007 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was born March 28, 1926 in Waterloo, IL to the late Bernard M. and Lucille (Mohme) Jung. He attended University of Arizona where he lettered in baseball from 1946-48; graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Civil Engineering; and served as an Army veteran from 1950-52 where he was involved with its Guided Missile Development Program. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in 12 states. He was a retired CEO for Buchart-Horn Consulting Engineers, York; past President of Basco Associates, Architects & Engineers, York; Managing Director, Buchart-Horn, GMBH, a German firm; and a member of the Office of the President for Pace Resources, Inc., York. John was awarded Harrisburg Area Engineer of the Year in 1993; Distinguished Award of Merit by the Consulting Engineers Council of PA in 1997; was past president of PA Consulting Engineers Council; Fellow & National Director of the American Consulting Engineers Council; life member of the National Society of Professional Engineers; member of the American Society of Highway Engineers; and a member of the Associated PA Constructors. Locally, John was past president of the Highland Boy’s Athletic Association; Chairman of the West Shore School District Building Authority; member of the Lower Allen Twp. Civil Service Commission; Chairman of the Airport Committee of Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce, West Shore Chamber of Commerce and the York Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill; Carlisle Country Club; and American Legion Post 127, York.
John was the widower of Barbara (Baumgardner) Jung and is survived by a daughter Linda L. Jung of San Rafael, CA; a son John B. Jung, Jr. of Richmond, VA; 2 sisters, Mag Withum of St. Louis, MO and Susan Vogt of Waterloo, IL; and 4 grandsons, Dan, Zach, Jeff, and Brooks. He was preceded in death by a son Andrew P. Jung.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday June 12, 2007 in Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. B. Penrose Hoover, his pastor officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1610 Carlisle Rd. Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to the University of AZ Dugout Club, c/o Frankie Acosta, McKale Center, 1 National Championship Drive / P.O. Box 210096 Tucson, AZ 85721-0096.

Richard D. "Ricky" Powers
June 14, 2007
Richard D. “Ricky” Powers, 45, of New Cumberland, died Thursday at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.
He was handicapped and confined to home. He was baptized Methodist.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia D. Powers and a brother Thomas D. Powers of Harrisburg. He was predeceased by his father, William J. Powers.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family led by The Rev. Steven R. Grosvenor. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mental Health Mental Retardation, 16 West High Street, Suite 301, Carlisle, PA 17033 or Ronald McDonald House, 745 Governor Road, Hershey, PA 17033-2304.

Harold R. Waddington
June 13, 2007
Harold T. Waddington, 77, of Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp. and formerly of Mechanicsburg died Wednesday June 13, 2007 in his residence with his wife by his side.
He was a retired Professional Civil Engineer and Executive for Gannett-Fleming, Camp Hill; a U.S. Army veteran; and a graduate of Drexel University, Philadelphia. He was a member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church and the American Society of Professional Civil Engineers. Harold was born May 10, 1930 in Norristown, PA to the late Samuel and Anna (Wiles) Waddington.
He is survived by his wife Anne (Wicker) Waddington; a daughter Ruth A. Patrick of Mechanicsburg; 2 sons, John F. of Lemoyne and Thomas V. of Mechanicsburg; 2 brothers, Dr. Donald Waddington of Boalsburg and Samuel Waddington of Skippack; 3 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Sunday June 17, 2007 in the Chapel of Messiah Village. Viewing will be one hour prior to services Sunday. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to either his church at 101 N. 23rd St. Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to the Messiah Village Endowment Fund, 100 Mount Allen Dr. Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Walter D. "Whitey" Woland
June 17, 2007
Walter D. “Whitey” Woland, 85, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Etters died Sunday June 17, 2007 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired Tool Room Supervisor for TRW, Cameron St., Harrisburg for over 32 years and a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the TRW Pioneers; VFW Post 710, Steelton; and American Legion Post 28 Oak Orchard, DE. Whitey was born December 22, 1921 in Harrisburg to the late James F. and Grace (Parmer) Woland.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy “Dot” (Ickes) Woland; a brother James H. Woland of Elizabethtown; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 22, 2007 at 11 am in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Simon Lehman officiating. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be one hour prior to services Friday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Whitey’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Richard Lee Curnell
June 19, 2007
Richard Lee Curnell, 60, of Dover, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.
He was a Materials Handler for the Department of Defense, Defense Distribution Depot, New Cumberland. He served as a Navy Pilot becoming a Prisoner of War after being shot down in Viet Nam. He was a member of VFW Post 537, Etters and American Legion Post 791, Shiloh. He was a genuine person and didn’t allow the complications of his health affect his positive and cheerful attitude. He was born April 8, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to Betty Lou (Daniels) Weible and the late Okey Jay Curnell, Sr. In addition to his birth father, he was predeceased by his father that raised him, Robert Weible, and two brothers, Okey J. Curnell and Terry G. Curnell.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Tonya K. Curnell of New Cumberland; three brothers, Robert A., Jerry L. and Danny L. Weible all of Toledo, OH; and two sisters, Shelley L. Myers of Holland, OH and Judy A. McAtee of Toledo, OH;
Viewing s will be held from 6-8pm Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland and Monday afternoon at Ansberg West Funeral Home, Toledo, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10am Tuesday at Ansberg West Funeral Home followed by interment in Toledo Memorial Cemetery.

James E. Linderman

James E. Linderman, 57, of Etters died Tuesday 12/16/03 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired English teacher at Cedar Cliff High School in the West Shore School District and worked part-time for Advantage Sales and Marketing, Harrisburg. He was a graduate of Coal Township High School, received his undergraduate degree from Millersville University and his Masters in Education from Shippensburg University. He was born 2/11/46 in Shamokin to the late Edward & Mary (Hoy) Linderman.
He is survived by his wife Sheila (A. (Drumheller) Linderman; a daughter Shayne K. Linderman-Dettrey and husband Mark of Lewisberry and a sister Nancy Derr of Binghamton, NY.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday 12/20/03 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A private committal service will be held in Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Fairview Twp. at a future date. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to P.A.W.S., P.O. Box 855, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
