Violet Ellen Irene (Lebo) Sherk, 98, of Messiah Village, Upper Allen Twp., died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at Messiah Village.
She was a Registered Nurse and retired as Evening Supervisor from Polyclinic Hospital. She also served as a Private Duty Nurse in the Harrisburg Area and a Red Cross Nurse. She was a 1925 Graduate of LVVS High School, Berrysburg and 1930 Graduate of Harrisburg Polyclinic School of Nursing. She was a member of Derry Street United Methodist Church, Messiah Village Auxiliary, and AARP. She was born January 12, 1906 in Berrysburg to the late Charles Seymour and Catherine Jane (Weaver) Lebo.
The widow of Jacob Taft Sherk, she is survived by four nieces, four nephews, nineteen grandnieces, eight grandnephews, many great-grandnieces and nephews, and great-great-grandnieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 11 am on Saturday December 11, 2004 at Messiah Village. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland has been entrusted with arrangements.

William U. Massey

William U. Massey, 62, of Harrisburg died Wednesday December 1, 2004 in his residence.
He was an employee of the PA Department of Agriculture; an honorably discharged Army Captain; a 1960 graduate of P.S. DuPont High School, Wilmington, DE; received his B.S. in Agriculture in 1964 and his Masters in Ornamental Horticulture in 1969, both from the University of Delaware. He was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Harrisburg.
He is survived by two sons, James W. of Shippensburg and Daniel M. of Middletown; a brother Albert L. of Erie; and 4 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 pm Monday December 6, 2004 in the mausoleum of Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. with the Rev. Kathleen Baker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday in the mausoleum.

Lawrence M. "Blackie" Garman

Lawrence M. “Blackie” Garman, 77, of Lower Allen Twp., died Thursday, December 02, 2004, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1927, in Harrisburg, to the late Lawrence W. and Pearl G. (Conrad) Garman. Mr. Garman retired as a school teacher from the West Shore School District having taught at Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill, from 1959 to 1985, and the former New Cumberland High School from 1952 – 1959; a 1951 graduate of the former Shippensburg State Teachers College and attended Penn State University and the University of Massachusetts; he was a long time football coach and track and field coach at both Cedar Cliff High School and New Cumberland High School and was a long time head of scorers and time keepers for the P.I.A.A.; he was the host of C.C.M.S.; a member of Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church; the Mechanicsburg Club; PA School Employees Retirement Club; American Legions, Post 1001, Harrisburg and Post 561, McConnellsburg. He was given the name “Blackie” by former writer for the Patriot Evening News, Paul Bishop. He was the widower of Sara A. (Akers) Garman.
Surviving are two sons, Rex A., New Cumberland and Richard M., Silver Springs Twp.; a daughter, Sally A. (Garman) Steiner, Huntsville, Alabama; an aunt, June Weirick, Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Richard D. Sweeney, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be held 6 – 8 pm Sunday in the funeral home.

Wilmer J. Blauser

Wilmer J. Blauser, 82, of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, died Thursday, October 23, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired employee of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Steelton; an Army WWII veteran and was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Highland Park, Camp Hill. Mr. Blauser was born August 21, 1921 in Harrisburg to the late John and Edna (Warner) Blauser.
Surviving is his wife, Anna I. (Crumlic) Blauser; two sons, John M., Seattle WA, and Gary E., Dillsburg; a sister, Evelyn Carl, Linglestown; four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2 pm Thursday in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to his church, 1610 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
William F. Birmingham

William F. Birmingham, 89, of Camp Hill died Friday October 3, 2003 in West Shore Health & Rehabilitation, East Pennsboro Twp. He was born February 7, 1914 in Shamokin to the late James F. & Mayme R. (Sminkey) Birmingham.
He was a retired manager for G.R. Kinney, Co., William Hahn Shoe Corporation, Triangle Shoe Co. and American Girl Shoe Store, Harrisburg. He was a graduate of Shamokin High School and attended New York University. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Harrisburg Senators and Hershey Bears fan. He was a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church; PA Council of the Blind where he was a former driver; and AARP.
He was the widower of Lucy L. (Seidel) Birmingham and is survived by 2 sons, Michael W. of Carlisle and David F. of Camp Hill; a brother James F. of Pocono Lake; 2 sisters, Betty I. Witmer of Shamokin and Ivy May Birmingham of Sunbury; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 am Tuesday 10/7/03 in his church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Allentown. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Winifred C. Goodwin

Winifred C. Goodwin, 94, of Charlotte, NC and formerly of Camp Hill, PA died Friday 10/3/03 in Sunrise of South Charlotte, Charlotte, NC.
She retired from the PA State Department of Mines and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland and its Little Flower Club and Knight’s of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was born 12/22/08 in Tuckahoe, NY to the late Charles & Grace (Haley) Sullivan
She was the widow of Charles F. Goodwin and is survived by 2 daughters, Grace Loyack and husband Michael of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and Jean Setaro of Charlotte, NC; 6 grandchildren and spouses, Michael & Lauren Loyack, Major David Loyack, U.S.M.C., John & Elaine Loyack, James & Nancy Loyack, Richard Setaro and Jennifer Setaro; and 5 great grandchildren, Olivia, Audrey, Samuel, Charles and Eva Loyack.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday 10/10/03 in her church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp. Viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 am Friday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

William D. “Bill” Clausen, 56, of New Cumberland died Saturday, October 4, 2003, in his residence.
He was a retired Police Officer for the New Cumberland Police Department and was currently a Program Specialist for Bureau of State Children & Youth Programs. He was a Coast Guard veteran during the Vietnam War, a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, H.A.C.C. and York College. He was past president of New Cumberland Youth Football Association, a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was active with Personalized Greyhounds as he enjoyed his own greyhounds. Bill was born 6/21/47 in Carlisle to Kathryn (Jacobs) McMeans and the late Jacob W. Clausen
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Susan E. (McMeans) Clausen; a son Marc A. Clausen and wife Jenni of Thurmont, MD; a daughter Linda Clausen Gorka and husband Steve of Swatara Twp.; his step father Daniel McMeans of New Cumberland; a brother Jacob Clausen of Dallas, TX; a sister Nancy Jensen of Allentown; and 2 grandchildren, Evan Gorka and Summer Clausen.
Services will be held 11 am Wednesday 10/8/03 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday and 10-11 am Wednesday in the funeral home.
