Helen Mae Wood, 85, of Chapel Pointe, Carlisle, formerly of Lemoyne and New Cumberland, died Sunday, October 5, 2003, in Slatington, PA.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker and also worked briefly for the State of Pennsylvania and at the former Pomeroy’s Tea Room, Harrisburg. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lemoyne and a Fifty year member of Steadfast Chapter No. 479 Order of Eastern Star, Camp Hill. She was a graduate of Slatington High School and loved to knit, especially dish cloths and enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle and family activities. She was born May 9, 1918 in Newside to the late Edgar L. and Mary E. (Ebert) Kistler
The widow of Harry M. Wood, she is survived by two sons, Earl E. and his wife, Norma of Jefferson, MD and Duane L. and his wife Frances of Carlisle; two brothers, Mark W. Kistler of Emmaus, PA and Paul A. Kistler of Slatington; two sisters, Ruth A. Cimino of Allentown and Marilyn J. Manchester of Baton Rouge, LA; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Salzano, Gregory, Randolph, Steven, Susanna, and Jeffrey Wood, Terry Bell-Aby, James W. Bell, and Karen D. Miller; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at her church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland and from 10-10:45am Thursday at the church.

James J. Onishick

James J. Onishick, 89, of Camp Hill, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
Mr. Onishick was born August 13, 1914, in Fort Dupont, DE, to the late Anthony and Mary (Kennedy) Onishick.
He was the widower of Claribel (Shover) Onishick. Surviving are two nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 am Monday in his church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp. Viewing will be 9:30 – 10:30 am Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
Ross R. Sheesley

Ross R. Sheesley, 90, of New Cumberland, died Thursday, October 9, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. Mr. Sheesley was born October 18, 1912, in Harrisburg, to the late Ross and Grace (Embick) Sheesley.
He was a retired inspector for the Navy I. C. P., Mechanicsburg; a graduate of 1931 class of John Harris High School, Harrisburg and Mansfield University; a WWII Army veteran; a member of Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg; West Shore Senior Center, New Cumberland; VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland; American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland; New Cumberland Retired Men’s Club; PA Sports Hall of Fame, West Shore Chapter
Surviving is a brother, Bernard G. Sheesley, Harrisburg; a nephew, Joseph Sheesly, Harrisburg; a cousin, Mary Keller, Elizabethville. He was the widower of Juanita F. Finney Sheesley.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. H. Raymond Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp. Viewing will be held 10 – 11 am Tuesday in the funeral home
Robert Harold Rhone

He was the former owner-operator of Rhone’s Quality Refinishing, Harrisburg, a former employee of Sears, a WWII Army veteran and a charter member of West Shore Baptist Church, Camp Hill. He was born 2/4/18 in Chester to the late Lloyd and Anna (Boyd) Rhone.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Hess) Rhone; a step son Jeffrey W. Bistline of York Springs; a step daughter Janis B. Hetrick of New Cumberland; a niece JoAnna Elicker of Hanover; a nephew H. Robert Conrad of Spring Grove; 5 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
Graveside service with military honors will be 1:30 pm Monday 10/20/03 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp. There will be no viewing or visitation

Melissa Ruth Tare

Melissa Ruth (Zeigler) Tare, 40, of Goldsboro, PA, died October 15, 2003, at home.
She was a supervisor for Highmark, Camp Hill office; a 1981 graduate of Camp Hill High School; and was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Etters. Melissa was born August 23, 1963, in Harrisburg to Leon R. and Marie A. (Russ) Zeigler, both of Camp Hill.
A sister, Linda Ann Zeigler-Peters, preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Derek W. Tare; a son, Derek Daniel Tare; two daughters, Alesa Lynn Pansy Tare and Madison Marie Tare; a step-daughter, Heather Leanne Tare and a sister, Kathy M. Zeigler, Enola.
Memorial services will be held 11 am Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with her pastor, the Rev. Fredrica K. Meitzen, officiating. Burial will be in Camp Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:30 – 11 am Tuesday in the funeral home.

Conrad M. Page

Conrad M. Page, Jr., 83, died on Friday, October 17, 2003, at his home in Etters, PA, where he had lived for most of his lifetime.
Born in Newberry Township on September 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Conrad M. Page, Sr. and Rosa Hartman Page. He was a graduate of New Cumberland High School, Central Pennsylvania Business College and the Air University of Technology.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha Conley Page; daughter, Rosa Page Guyler and her husband, James, of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter, Gloria Page Wray and her husband, Donald, of Eden NC; son, Dr. David Conrad Page and his wife, Elizabeth, of Winchester MA; seven granddaughters, Christine Guyler, Lisa Cline, Laura Palaima, Janelle Basham, Charlotte Page, Julia Page and Lucy Page; and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, George U. Page, and numerous nieces and nephews
A Veteran of World War II, Conrad served in Africa and Europe and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He was employed from 1938 to 1976 in the Federal Civil Service, working in the fields of finance and management in Washington, DC; Sacramento, CA; and Middletown and Mechanicsburg, PA. Conrad was named 1970 Executive of the Year by the Central PA Area Federal Personnel Council. It is as a faithful servant of Christ for which he will be most remembered. He was a member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, where he served in leadership roles in all five building programs in the history of the church, seeing it transformed from a country church of less than 100 members in 1946 to a suburban congregation with more than 1200 members today. He represented Salem at Central Pennsylvania Annual Conference for almost 50 years and served in numerous positions both within the Central Pennsylvania Conference and as the local conference's representative at regional, national and world conferences. Conrad also served on the Committee on Episcopacy of the Northeastern Jurisdiction, Board of Pensions, and Council on Ministries of the United Methodist Church. He was quoted as saying "Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that God would allow a farm boy to serve the Christian faith community in such diverse ways." He will be fondly remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Nothing brought him more pleasure than interacting with four generations of his family, especially at the annual reunions he orchestrated in the Bahamas, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and on a Caribbean cruise.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 22, at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, Etters, PA. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. There will be visitation from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, October 21 at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church

Stephen Craig Reeves

Stephen Craig Reeves, 38, of Hampden Twp., died Friday, October 17, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was the manager of Da’Pits Chicago Grill, Harrisburg; a graduate of Dauphin County Vo-Tech School; a Master Chef; he taught sushi preparation classes at The Kitchen Shop in Carlisle; a member of Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, Mechanicsburg; and he was an avid hockey player, skier, and was an extreme sports enthusiast. Stephen was born October 4, 1965, in West Grove, PA.
Surviving is his wife, Wendy Jo Morgart Reeves; four sons, Madison C., Bonita, CA, Stephen J., Tyler R., and Andrew P., each at home; a step son, Daniel J. Brenner, Jersey City, NJ; .his mother and step father, Gail L. and Bill E. Fannasy, Pennbrook; his father, Ronald Reeves, Salt Lake City, UT; his maternal grandparents, Mildred (Gorden) and Ken “Moose” Spangler, New Cumberland; his paternal grandfather, Eugene Reeves, Salt Lake City, UT; four sisters, Sondra D. Strawser, Duncannon, Theresa L. Zeiders, Harrisburg, Christel M. Forbes, Harrisburg, and Meghan L. Count., Pennbrook.
Memorial services will be held 2 pm Wednesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Dr. Stephen R. Melton, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Visitation will be held 1-2 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
