Mary Elizabeth Reynolds, 32, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland, died Friday, October 17, 2003, in Swatara Township from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was a clerk for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg; a former member of the York 4H club; she enjoyed NASCAR, camping, and the outdoors. Her children were the central focus of her life. Mary was born March 23, 1971, in York to Philip and Patricia (Bailey) Godfrey
In addition to her parents, surviving is her husband, Keith A. Reynolds; two daughters, Keesha Renee Stough and Shanlee Lynn Stough; a brother, Donald L. “Mouse” Godfrey; her paternal grandmother, Eva Godfrey, Red Lion; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Bailey, Lancaster; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday in Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fairview Twp. with the Rev. Timothy L. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions may be made to Stough Children Trust Fund, c/o PNC Bank, 4242 Carlisle Pike, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
Fred H. Semke

Fred H. Semke, 85, of Newberry Twp., died Saturday, October 18, 2003, in West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired letter carrier for the former U.S. Post Office Dept., Hempstead, NY branch; a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Shiremanstown; formerly active member of the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany, Hempstead, NY; attended Life Center, Harrisburg; attended Noah’s Place, York; a former member of the West Shore Men’s Garden Club; and was an avid gardener. Mr. Semke was born June 17, 1918, in Hempstead, NY to the late Frederick M. and Margareta (Sundermann) Semke.
He was the widow of Charlotte J. Aumick Semke and was also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Blossfield. Surviving is a son, Richard W., Newberry Township; a daughter, Nancy S. Belcher, Arlington, VA; 8 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday in his church with the Rev. Michael L. Seifried, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Hampden Twp. Viewing will be 1 –2 pm at the church on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund, 44 West Main Street, Shiremanstown, PA 17011. Arrangements are under the direction of Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
William E. Rubly

William E. Rubly, 73, of New Cumberland died Wednesday, October 22, 2003, in his residence.
He was a retired Air Force Staff Sgt. and a Purple Heart recipient in the US Navy. In addition to his military career, he was a retired fire fighter with the Fire Crash Rescue Team of Harrisburg International Airport. He was a member of the Susquehanna Gun Club and the VFW Post 6704, He was born 12/20/29 in Clearfield to the late Joseph and Florence (Shunkweiler) Rubly. Mechanicsburg
He is survived by his wife Janet F. (Fisher) Rubly; a daughter Dianna D. Rubly-Shipman and husband Harry; and a grandson Harry Shipman, II.
Services will be held 11 am Monday 10/27/03 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp. Viewing will be one hour prior to services Monday in the funeral home.

Richard E. Thompson

Richard E. “Dick” Thompson, age 74, of New Cumberland died Wednesday, October 22, 2003, in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired teacher in the West Shore School District and a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, a WWII Army veteran where he served with the 226th MP Company in Guam. Dick enjoyed fishing, tennis, hiking, camping, traveling and he was a big fan of Penn State football. He hiked the 146 highest mountain peaks in the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, New Cumberland; American Legion Post 1001, Harrisburg; VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland; Appalachian Mountain Club; Adirondack Mountain Club; Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and Alumni Association of PSU. He was born 1/4/29 in Pottsville to the late Robert E. and Alma N. (Couffer) Thompson.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred M. (Staub) Thompson; his son Michael E. and wife Melanie of New Cumberland; his grandsons, Jeffery and wife Annette of Radstock, England and Jeremy of New Cumberland; his great grandchildren, Georgia, Alexander and Rowan also of Radstock, England
Viewing will be from 1:30 until 3:00 Monday 10/27/03 followed by services at 3:00 pm in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A private burial and committal will be held at the convenience of the family

Frances A. McAfee, 93, of Middleburg, died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at Woodland Center, Fairview Twp.
She was a retired employee of the PA Dept. of Transportation, Harrisburg and enjoyed cross-stitch, needlepoint, and reading. Mrs. McAfee was born January 16, 1910 in Lock Haven to the late Abraham and Mary (Stein) Baker.
She was the widow of Arthur E. McAfee. Surviving is a sister, Pearl Nissley, Palmyra; a daughter in law, Norma S. Baker, New Cumberland; two grandchildren, Luanne Baker Seykora, Tucson, AZ and Lewis C. Baker, Mechanicsburg
Graveside services will be held 11 am Monday in Paxtonville Cemetery, Paxtonville, PA.

Juanita D. Behrens, 78, of Hampden Twp., Mechanicsburg, PA, died Thursday, October 23, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
She was born January 2, 1925, in Camp Hill, to the late John and Florence (Rife) Wesley. Mrs. Behrens enjoyed flowers and her gardens.
Surviving is her husband, Richard W. Behrens; a son, Richard W., Millsboro, DE; two daughters, Dolores J. Shellenberger, Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Linda D. Behrens, Mechanicsburg; a sister, Jenny Hammond, Lititz; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

John V. Russ

John V. Russ, 79, of New Cumberland, died Thursday, October 23, 2003 in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born December 9, 1923 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Frank Diego and Amelia (Magaro) Russ. Mr. Russ was retired schoolteacher in the West Shore School District; a graduate of the former Harrisburg Catholic High School, attended the former Shippensburg Teachers College, and earned his masters degree from Western Maryland College, Westminster, MD; and was a U. S. Coastguard veteran. He began his teaching career at Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown where he held the positions of head basketball and baseball coach as well as assistant head football coach. He also taught for Harrisburg School District at Camp Curtain Junior High School where he was also the head football coach. Surviving

Russ, Mechanicsburg; tow grand daughters, Ivy E. and Jenna K. Mueller.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be concelebrated on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 11 am in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge New Cumberland with the Rev. Msgr. William M. Richardson and the Rev. John Acri as con-celebrants. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1303 Bridge St., New Cumberland.
