June S. Gaul
May 12, 2006
June S. Gaul, 87, of Camp Hill, died Friday, May 12, 2006 at Harrisburg Hospital.
A 1936 graduate of the Catholic High, Harrisburg, she began working as an operator for the former Bell Telephone, then spent many years working at the former Bowman’s Department Store at the West Shore Plaza and ended her employment at Forty West, LTD. She was a member of St. Theresa Parish, its Little Flower Club, and Legion of Mary. She had been involved in Girl Scouts through the Hemlock Council and Cub Scouts Pack 192, St. Theresa. She enjoyed reading and especially her grandchildren. Her most memorable hobby of all was loving all people, all the time, patient, consistent, unstoppable love. She never amassed any earthly fortune but gave a couple dollars a week to any charity that asked. This hobby included hanging in there at times when most people would cut and run and teaching us about her truest passion, her undying faith that God is in control. Her faith is what grounds us today and keeps sanity possible for those who knew her. She was a finder of car keys through the help of Saint Anthony, a listener who didn’t judge, a reassuring touch on a worried brow, a silent hero to neighbors who watched for years as she brought us to church through the toughest of times. A shining example to us of how God intended human beings to treat each other, most of all, especially at this time of year, a remembrance of motherhood. Truly the scales have been tipped today. We will miss her always. We love you mom. She was born August 27, 1918 in Harrisburg to the late Joseph and Ada (Froelich) Sheehey.
The widow of Charles W. Gaul, she is survived by three sons, Robert C. and his wife Margarita of Camp Hill, Timothy R. and his wife Lois of Mechanicsburg, Thomas J. and his wife Georgine of Lewisberry; a daughter, Victoria A. Bosso and her husband Nick of Camp Hill, fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
