Dr. James Edmund Siipple, 62, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, November 30, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired administrator in the Harrisburg school district and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg. Dr. Siipple was born July 6, 1941, in Allentown, PA to the late Raymond A. and Ethel Mae (Lytle) Siipple.
Surviving is his wife, Julie L. Lawhead Siipple; a sister, Carol A. Siipple, Harrisburg; a niece, Jennifer M. Kump, Newville; a nephew, Rip Lawhead, Lancaster; 4 grand nieces and 4 grand nephews.
Private funeral services were held Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, and officiated by The Rev. Michael Heckathorn, his pastor. Entombment was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp

George Metzger Sones

George Metzger Sones, 85, formerly of Williamsport, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg, PA.
Born on Dec. 4, 1922, in Williamsport, he was the son of Harold E. and Helen (Metzger) Sones. He retired after 37 years from the former Williamsport Technical School and was a volunteer at the St. Ann’s Soup Kitchen, Williamsport.
Surviving is a niece, Helen T. Groff, of Camp Hill.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.

F. Jeanne DeFrank, 80, of Camp Hill, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the home of her son in Harrisburg.
She was a graduate of the former Steelton High School and a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Camp Hill. She was a loving mother, enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and Trinity High School girls basketball games......... or at least the first quarter.
She was born August 23, 1927, in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Gallagher) Updegrove. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Harry.
Surviving are three sons, Harry "Zip" DeFrank, Jr. of Harrisburg; Jeffrey A. DeFrank of Mechanicsburg; Matthew C. DeFrank of Mechanicsburg; one daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Ann Kieff of Mechanicsburg; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Camp Hill, with the Rev. Mark E. Weis as celebrate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp. Friends and family will be received following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to either Trinity Girls Basketball Program, 3601 Simpson Ferry Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to Hospice of Central PA, PO Box 266, Enola, PA 17025. Arrangements by Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
John L. Fulton

John L. Fulton, 74, of Camp Hill, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was a retired payroll accountant for Pavex Inc. of Camp Hill; an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War; a member of Eberly’s Mill Church of God, Camp Hill; American Legion Post 26, Dillsburg. Mr. Fulton constructed and collected model airplanes, enjoyed air shows and backyard wildlife. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and was a very benevolent friend and neighbor.
Mr. Fulton was born May 1, 1933, in Chambersburg, the son of the late John Russell and Margaret Mary (Eichelberger) Fulton.
Surviving are his wife, Ramah L.(Strausser) Fulton; two sons, John W. and his wife Judy A. of Wexford, and Richard M. of Camp Hill; a sister, Winnonia Peters of St. Claire Shores, MI, and other extended family in the Detroit area; two grandchildren, J. P. Fulton and Ryan E. Fulton; and his beloved dog, J. R.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. James Moss, Jr., his pastor, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Greater Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
Caroline B. Wilson

Caroline Veronica Bennett Wilson, 73, of Fairview Twp., Camp Hill, passed into eternal life on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1935, the daughter of the late Webster and Caroline (O'Brien) Bennett and was raised in Harrisburg and graduated from Catholic High School (McDevitt) in 1952. She was a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Harrisburg, and was currently an active member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Caroline was a loving and completely devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She met the love of her life, Gerald F. Wilson, and married him in 1956 and together they had seven children.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald. During their 51 years of marriage, Caroline was the essence of his life. Their third child, Judith Ann, preceded her in death on November 7, 1969. Her surviving children are Kathleen Marie Hollinger, Michael John Wilson, Stephen Anthony Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Gerald Francis Wilson, Jr. and Jennifer Ann Faust. Caroline is also survived by her son-in-law David Hollinger, husband of Kathy, and their children, Megan, Mark, Joseph and Emma of Livonia, Michigan, daughter-in-law Linda Wilson, wife of Mike, and their children, Michael and Isabela, of Fairview Township, daughter-in-law Maria Wilson, wife of Steve, of Harrisburg, and son-in-law Eric Faust, husband of Jennifer, and their children, Allison, Matthew, and Lindsay, of Hummelstown. Caroline was preceded in death by four of her brothers, Webster Bennett, Angus Bennett, Joseph Bennett, and Fred Bennett, and one sister, Elizabeth Ann. She is survived by her brothers, John Bennett and Herman Bennett and her sister, Veronica Halbleib.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, March 6, at. at Saint Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, with the Rev. James E. Lease as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Visitation will be held 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, March 5, at the Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with a scripture service beginning at 7:30 PM.

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Gregory

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Gregory, 71, of Fairview Twp., New Cumberland died Friday March 7, 2008 in Harrisburg Hospital after a battle with pneumonia and leukemia.
She was a retired Personnel Secretary for Aetna Insurance; attended Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland; and was a member of, and active volunteer for the Friends of the New Cumberland Library as well as the Harrisburg River Rescue. She was loved by her family and friends, especially by her grandchildren who meant everything to her. Betty was born February 1, 1937 in McKee, KY to the late Orville and Maude (Adams) Muncy.
She is survived by her husband of over 47 years Ralph H. Gregory; her daughter Heather L. Arnold and her husband Jeffrey E. Arnold, Sr. of Camp Hill; 2 brothers, Clifford Muncy of Palm Coast, FL and Edward Muncy of Mertezer, TX; 4 sisters, Lois Simpson, Barbara Moore, Patty Kelley, all of Leesburg, VA and Peggy Shugars of Lovettsville, VA; 2 grandchildren and a step grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 11, 2008 at 1 pm in Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. Viewing will be from 6-8 pm Monday evening in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.

Martha K. "Marti" Sheffer

Martha K. “Marti” Sheffer, 81, of Cumberland County went to be with her Lord on March 7, 2008 at Community General Hospital in Harrisburg, PA. Martha was born on April 3, 1926, the daughter of Gladys (Quigley) and Jacob Kitzmiller. She was one of seven children and spent most of her childhood and adolescence in the care of her Aunt and Uncle, Martha and Charles Wolf of 18th Street in Camp Hill, PA. In her younger years, Martha enjoyed horseback riding and roller skating, becoming an accomplished skater at the Rainbow Roller rink where she met her now deceased husband, Stanley (Jim) Sheffer.
She started working for Dutchmaid Inc in the late 1950's as a demonstrator for home party plan based clothing sales. During her 30 year career in direct sales for Dutchmaid, she was promoted to various levels due to her consistent top performance and ultimately became the Field Manager of one of the most productive regions in the county. Martha was an inspiration to her family, friends and coworkers because of her boundless energy, enthusiasm and selfless interest in helping people achieve their goals. She was instrumental in shepherding many women who were initially only looking for some part time income into successful careers. She organized and led trips for her sales group to Las Vegas, New Orleans, Acapulco, Italy, Spain, and Germany. After the sale of Dutchmaid, she retired but continued her passion for helping people dress for success by working for J. Edwards Clothes and the Executive Suite For Her in the Camp Hill Mall. Martha was a faithful member of and helped build the Wyndamere Heights Evangelical Congregational Church in Lewisberry and became a very active member of the Friedens UCC in Oley while living there with her daughter Susanne. Martha was a servant of the Lord and the spiritual leader of her family. She taught her family the rewards of giving and the joy of unconditional love. She was a member and past president of the Quota Club of Harrisburg. She loved gardening, traveling, cooking and spoiling her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Susanne Fiori and grandchildren, Jason, Marta and Angela Fiori. Her sons Michael Sheffer and his wife, Cynthia McGurren, grandchildren Colby and Madison Sheffer; Steven Sheffer and his wife, Lynn, grandchild Kirsten and, Daniel Sheffer and his wife, Lori, grandchildren Daniel Jr and Michael. She is also survived by her sister Violet (Kitzmiller) Shellhammer and brother Joseph Kitzmiller and his wife Marie. She was preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy Kitzmiller, Pauline (Kitzmiller) Wise, Betty (Kitzmiller) Quinn and brothers LeRoy and William.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 13, 2008 at 2 pm in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Dr. Jon A. Fogle officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
