Melba F. Haeusler, 81, of North Spring Street, Middletown, died Saturday, February 27 at home.
She was a retired telephone operator at the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Lower Swatara Twp.; member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She was the widow of Francis J. Haeusler.
She is survived by a son, Francis J. Haeusler of Reading; a brother, Robert Fritz of Burlington, VT; two sisters, Esther Fidler of Summit Station and Nancy Bowen of Schuylkill Haven; and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday in her church with the Rev. Louis P. Ogden, her pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 1-1:45 p.m. Thursday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown.

Roy Parsons
Roy D. Parsons, 72, of Eby Lane, Middletown, died Saturday, February 27 in Hershey Medical Center.
He was an independent trucker and a former employee of M. F. Rockey Movers, Harrisburg; and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was the widower of Mary L. Pace Parsons.
He is survived by a stepson, Roy E. Williams of Harrisburg; and a brother, James of Washington state.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery, York County.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Alma Gantz
Alma S. (Heisey) Gantz, 90, of North Mount Joy Street, Elizabethtown, died Friday, February 26 at her residence of natural causes.
Born in Conoy Twp., she was the daughter of the late Millard and Elizabeth (Shank) Heisey.
She was a homemaker, loved sewing and growing flowers; a lifelong member of Conoy Brethren in Christ Church, and was a former member of its sewing circle.
She was the wife of Walter S. Gantz, with whom she celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past January 6.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, W. Reuben Gantz of Londonderry Twp.; two brothers, Leroy Heisey of Mt. Joy and Avery Heisey of Mechanicsburg; three sisters, Glenna Heisey of Mechanicsburg, Arlene Keener and Catharine, wife of Mahlon Fry, both of Elizabethtown; and three grandchildren, Patrick of Middletown and Jennifer & Annette, both of Londonderry Twp.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Conoy Brethren in Christ Church, Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown, with Pastor Keith A. Tyson officiating. Interment was in Conoy Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
Boyer Funeral Home, 144 East High Street, Elizabethtown, handled arrangements.
Stephen Pritula
Stephen Pritula, 78, of East High Street, Womelsdorf, died Saturday, February 27 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
He was an Army veteran and received the Purple Heart during the Normandy Invasion.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Geisinger Pritula of Harrisburg; three daughters, Mary Ann Landis of Camp Hill, Janet Pritula of Harrisburg and Betsy Smith of Middletown; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services and burial will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

John Chajkowski
John G. Chajkowski, 83, of Highspire, died Sunday, February 28 at home.
He was retired from Amtrak; was an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Swatara Twp., the Holy Name Society and Steelton VFW post.
He is survived by his wife, Fern B. Slessler Chajkowski; a daughter, Kathleen Chajkowski of Tucson, AZ; a son, Arthur G. Eisenhour of Rockville, MD; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in his church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.
Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Knight Funeral Home, Highspire.

Dorothy M. Nearhoff, 79, of Spring Street, Middletown, died Monday, March 1 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Middletown.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert R. Nearhoff; a daughter, Linda K. Horchler of Lemoyne; six sisters, M. Evelyn Waltz of Hurricane, WV, Esther P. Whitmer of Carlisle, Ruth E. Furman of Palmer, AK, Kathryn Gransee of St. Augustine, FL, Edith E. (Betty) Luzier and Joan Stiner, both of Woodland, PA; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in her church with the Rev. James L. Williams, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Middletown Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown.
