Pearl Wallick
Pearl S. Wallick, 86, of The Middletown Home, West Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, died Monday, May 24 at the Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was a homemaker and was the widow of Claude R. Wallick Sr.
She is survived by one son, Claude R. Wallick Jr. of Louisville, KY; one daughter, Janet S. Wallick of Edgewater, MD; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown.
John Shope
John A. Shope, 75, of Middletown died Wednesday, June 30 at home.
He retired as a machine operator from Bethlehem Steel Corp.; was an Army veteran of World War II; and a former member of Oberlin Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Florence M. Landis Shope; a daughter, Carol A. Dessing of Flagler Beach, FL; two sons, Larry A. of Hummelstown and Glenn A. of Annville; three sisters, Mary Herr and Ruth Monson, both of Hershey, and Martha Tittiger of Middletown; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday in Knight Funeral Home, Highspire. Burial was in Hummelstown Cemetery.

Antoinette Russ
Antoinette M. Cacciola Russ, 85, of Hickory Avenue, Middletown, formerly of York, died Thursday, July 1 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was a retired restaurant manager in the Middletown area; a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women, Middletown; and a 50-year plus member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 594, Middletown.
She was the widow of James P. Russ.
She is survived by a daughter, Madalyn M. Russ Curtis, with whom she lived; and a brother, Ralph Cacciola of York.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday in her church with The Rev. John Trigilio Jr., Ph.D. as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Middletown.

Stella Cleland
Stella M. Cleland, 78, of Burd Street, Royalton, died Friday, July 2 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp.
She was the widow of Oliver S. Cleland Sr.
She is survived by six sons, Oliver S. Cleland Jr., LeRoy P. Cleland and Barry R. Cleland, all of Middletown, George M. Cleland of Royalton, Harry R. Cleland of Steelton and Alfred M. Cleland of Highspire; four daughters, Mary Stauffer of Royalton, Delores Vulatic of Londonderry Twp., Esther Alleman of Hummelstown and Tina Cleland of Middletown; three sisters, Margaret Hahn and Betty Nagle, both of Middletown and Kathryn Herneisey of Lower Swatara Twp.; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Services were held Tuesday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown with the Rev. David W. Trostle officiating. Burial was in Middletown Cemetery.
Joyce Hufnagel
Joyce H. Hufnagel, 65, of Lexington Avenue, Lower Swatara Twp., died Saturday, July 3 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was a former employee at Dauphin Manor and Booth Memorial Hospital, NY as a licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by a sister, Roberta H. Pritchett of Highspire.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, Long Island, NY.

Betty McCloskey
Betty McCloskey, 77, of East Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, died Monday, July 5 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was retired from Penn State Harrisburg where she worked as a secretary; was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and its Golden Age Group, member of American Legion #594 Auxiliary and Elks #1092 Auxiliary, all of Middletown.
She is survived by her husband, George B. McCloskey; one daughter, Christine Brody of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Alice Troutman of Enola; and one grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in her church with Rev. John Trigilio Jr., Ph.D. as celebrant. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
