Thelma Shaffner
Thelma A. Snavely Shaffner, 82, of Green Hill Road, West Hanover Twp., died Saturday, July 22, in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was a member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church, West Hanover Twp. She was the widow of Jack D. Shaffner. She is survived by three daughters, Linda F. Jorge of Conyers, GA, Judith D. Snyder of New Oxford and Pamela J. Rennex of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rolling Green Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp.
There will be no viewing.
Knight Funeral Home, Highspire, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.

Oma Hefflefinger
Oma K. Hefflefinger, 88, of Second Street, Highspire, died Tuesday, February 8 at her home.
Born March 17, 1911 in Upper Frankford Twp., Cumberland County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer L. and Mary Geedy Killinger.
She was a retired employee of the former C. H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle and was a member of the Community Baptist Church, Carlisle.
She was the widow of John E. Hefflefinger.
She is survived by a son, Dale E. Hefflefinger of Highspire; three daughters, Mary Lanious and Jean Rickard, both of Carlisle and Betty Stimeling of Wilmington, DE; a brother, Calvin Killinger of Carlisle; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Hefflefinger.
Services were held Saturday in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with the Rev. Thomas S. Weber officiating. Burial was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice VNA of Central PA, 3515 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111.

Norman McGraw Jr.
Norman E. "Skinch" McGraw Jr., 63, of Fox Road, Glenside, PA died Wednesday, February 9 at home.
He was owner and president of McGraw & Co. of Glenside, a manufacturing company for approximatley 15 years; was a 1959 graduate of Lycoming College; and had been a member of the National Guard.
He had been a resident of Glenside for the last 35 years; loved spending time with his family and fishing on the Wissahickon, Susquehanna River and at Ocean City, MD; and was always ready to help his neighbors and friends with repair work.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ann L. Clark; three daughters, Terri A. Miller, Jennifer L. McGraw and Andrea K. Kline; three sisters, Carol Helman, Joan Campbell and Barbara Kinsey; and two grandchildren, Corrie and Luke.
A memorial service was held Saturday at William R. May Funeral Home, Inc., 354 N. Easton Road, Glenside, PA.
Donations made in his name to Boys Town USA, 200 Flanagan Blvd., PO Box 6000, BoysTown, NE 68010-9988 would be appreciated.

Mary Baumbach
Mary R. "Mezz" Baumbach, 79, of Hickory Avenue, Middletown, died Thursday, February 10 in Integrated Health Service of Hershey at the Woodlands.
She was a Roman Catholic and a member of Middletown American Legion Post 594 Auxiliary.
She was the widow of Harry M. Baumbach.
She is survived by a son, William H. of Middletown; two daughters, Becky A. Smith, with whom she lived and Donna L. Moyer of Carlisle; a brother, Andy Shortlidge and a sister, Phyllis Pelen, both of Columbia; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday in the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown. Burial was in Middletown Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Pennsylvania Association for the Blind, 2843 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101; or to the Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Nancy Engle
Nancy J. Graham Engle, 69, of River Road, Middletown, died Thursday, February 10 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Donald H. and Elizabeth Keller Graham.
She was a former member of Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren and enjoyed crossword puzzles, craft shows and bus trips to Atlantic City; and she had a great love for her grandchildren and great-grandson.
She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Engle; two daughters, Carol A. Hemperly of Middletown and Debra G. Conway of Royalton; a brother, Donald H. Graham of Middletown; two sisters, Barbara Barilla and Judy Lipec, both of Lower Swatara Twp.; four grandchildren, Todd Hemperly of Philadelphia, Kelli Golden of Elizabethtown, and Robyn Garza and Tiffany Conway, both of Middletown; and a great-grandson, Cole Golden of Elizabethtown.
Services were held Monday in the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown with Rev. Thomas H. Sanagorski officiating. Burial was in Middletown Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to PinnacleHealth Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or to Easter Seals of South Central Pennsylvania, 331 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070.

Sally Good
Sally M. Good, 95, of the Middletown Home, Lower Swatara Twp., died there Tuesday, February 8.
She retired as a principal's secretary from the former Maplewood (NJ) Junior High School and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Middletown.
She was the widow of Luther Good.
She is survived by a son, Luther Jr. of Elk Park, CA; a daughter, Evelyn Helfrich of Wellesley, MA; two brothers, Scott May and Claude May, both of Forrest, VA; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.
Coble-Reber Funeral Home, Middletown, handled arrangements.

Blanche Patten
Blanche J. Patten, 93, of Vine Street, Middletown, formerly of New Bedford, MA, died Saturday, February 12 in the Middletown Home, Lower Swatara Twp.
She was born in Lawn, Newfoundland, Canada in 1906 to the late Peter and Susan Strang Edwards.
She retired as a nurse from Bellvue Hospital, New York City; and was a former member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, New Bedford.
She was the widow of John B. Patten.
She is survived by a son, Deputy Adjutant General, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Ft. Indiantown Gap Military Reservation Gen. John L. Patten of Middletown; a daughter, Susan J. Texeira of Nantucket, MA; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, New Bedford, MA. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Bedford.
The Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown, handled arrangements.

Mildred Grubb
Mildred G. Grubb, 83, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, February11 at home of natural causes. She had been under a doctor's care.
Born in Mount Joy Township, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Gibble Heisey.
She had worked in the Masonic Homes food service department for five years and before that at the Elizabethtown Area High School cafeteria for a few years. Prior to that, she worked at the former Rissers Garment Factory in Elizabethtown for more than 20 years.
She was a member of the Conewago Church of the Brethren, Bachmanville and a member of the Elizabethtown Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed traveling and liked to cook at the church and the Senior Center. She prepared chicken corn soup and Easter peanut butter eggs for Senior Center fund raisers.
She was the widow of Warren E. Grubb, who died in 1968.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley D. Grubb, Elizabethtown, Polly L., wife of David Carl, Ringoes, NJ and Sandy J., wife of Marvin L. Weaver, Mount Joy; a brother, Emmert Heisey, York; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Roy, Raymond, Harry, Lester and Harold Heisey, and three sisters, Anna Ruth Miller, Violet Greiner and Bernice Ginder.
Services were held Tuesday at the Conewago Church of the Brethren, Bachmanville, with the Rev. Galen Hackman and the Rev. William C. Haldeman officiating. Interment was in West Green Tree Cemetery, Mount Joy Township.
Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., 144 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA handled arrangements.
