Betty Geist Tressler, 76, formerly of Middletown, died Friday, February 11 at Pleasant Valley Manor, Snydersville, PA.
She was a former waitress at the Middletown American Legion Post 594 and a former member of the Women's Bowling Association.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Clyde "Spike" Tressler; two daughters, Bonnie Blocher of Middletown and Candace Krier of Feasterville; and a stepdaughter, Joanna Gibbs of Canadenis.
There will be no viewing.

Eva Meckley
Eva Blecher Meckley, 104, of Colebrook Road, Middletown, died Monday, February 14 at her home.
She was a nurse for her late father, Dr. John Blecher; owner and president of Middletown Ice and Coal Company; owner of the former Highspire Brewery; owner of the former Atlantic City Hotel, Atlantic City, NJ; graduate of University of Pennsylvania; member of Hershey Country Club Bunkers and Quintin Riding Club; former member of Middletown Flower Club and American Legion Post 594 Auxiliary.
She also enjoyed reading, golfing, gardening, crossword puzzles and was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins.
She was the widow of Ralph E. Meckley.
She is survived by a daughter, Sally Meckley Owens of Middletown; three grandchildren, Deborah Owens Palermo, Michael F. Owens and David M. Owens, all of Middletown; and four great-grandchildren, Mario C. Jr., Deborah E., Sarah A. and Marco O. Palermo, all of Middletown.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery.

Mary Mansberger
Mary Ann Hawthorne Mansberger, 51, of Ann Street, Middletown, passed away Saturday, February 12 at her home.
Born in Hummelstown on January 31, 1949, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Ethel May Shertzer Hawthorne.
She was a homemaker and a 1966 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Wilbert H. Mansberger III; one daughter, Ann Marie, wife of Stephen T. Perrino of East Northport, NY; two sons, David Michael Mansberger of Ingleside, TX and Eric Lee Mansberger of Middletown; two brothers, Paul R. "Pete" Hawthorne and George E. Hawthorne, both of Hummelstown; two sisters, Alice M. Hawthorne of Rutherford and Betty L. Bashore of Hummelstown; and one grandson, Chase Alexander Mansberger of Middletown.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with the Rev. Gary W. Owens, pastor of Shell's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shellsville, officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
George Mullen
George I. Mullen, 86, of Country Meadows, Hershey, formerly of Middletown, died Tuesday, January 18 in Hershey Medical Center.
He retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot and was a member of Moose Lodge 410 and Rescue Hose Company, both of Middletown.
He was the widower of Dorothy E. Graham Mullen.
He is survived by three sons, Gary R., Larry I. and G. Roger, all of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday at Hillsdale Cemetery, Londonderry Twp.
Arrangements were handled by the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown.
Edith Rose
Edith Z. Rose, 88 of the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, died Thursday, January 20 in Masonic Health Care Center.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Philip Schwartz and Rose (Streitfeld) Schwartz.
A homemaker, Mrs. Rose and her late husband, Bernard, owned and operated the "Big M", now Saturday's Market in Middletown. Saturday's Market, which opened on October 10, 1957, is still family-owned and operated by their son, Rodman and his wife, Joanne.
Mrs. Rose was a founding member of the Kain Moses Chapter of the American Cancer Society in Philadelphia; was president of the American O.R.T. Society, a member of the Hadassah, a founding member of the Women's Division of the Philadelphia Psychiatric Hospital and a former member of Congregation Rodeph Shalom, all of Philadelphia.
She was the last of her immediate family.
She is survived by a daughter, June, wife of Richard Duffine of Bala Cynwyd; two sons, Barry Rose of Palo Alto, CA and Rodman, husband of Joanne Rose of Londonderry Twp.; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Trevose, PA. Burial was in Roosevelt Memorial Park.

Thane Messick
Thane A. Messick, 54, of North Union Street, Lower Swatara Twp., died Monday, January 17 in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of Marlin and Gladys Hoover Messick.
He was a partner in Messick Brothers of Middletown; a graduate of Hershey High School Class of 1963; a member and former trustee and deacon of Swatara Hill Church of the Brethren, Londonderry Twp. and served on its Camp Swatara Board; and a current member of Church of the Brethren District Board.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Messick; a son, Matthew of Middletown; a daughter, Melanie Byrd of Martin City, MT; his parents, Marlin and Gladys Messick of Lower Swatara Twp.; and three brothers, Dale of Lower Swatara Twp., Timothy of Ashland, KY and Thomas of Ceresco, NE.
Services were held Saturday in his church with Rev. Benjamin Simmons officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Lower Swatara Twp.

Lucille Gallmann
Lucille McRill Gallmann, 91, of Chestnut Street, Middletown, died Saturday, January 22 at home.
Born in Worthington, OH, she was the daughter of the late Hal and Pauline Dearing McRill.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed needlework and growing plants.
She was the widow of Kurt P. Gallmann.
She is survived by a son, Richard A. and a daughter, Sue A. Kohr, both of Middletown; and two grandsons, Todd Kohr of Palmyra and Thomas Kohr of Gulfport, MS.
Services were held Tuesday in Coble-Reber Funeral Home, Middletown, with Rev. David H. Trostle officiating. Burial was in Middletown Cemetery.

Mark Bair
Mark W. Bair, 72, of Wedgewood Gardens, Selinsgrove, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Monday, January 24 in Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was a retired truck driver for Roadway Express, Carlisle; an Army veteran of World War II; a member of American Legion Post 329 and Moose Lodge 596, both of Elizabethtown.
He was the son of the late Clyde and Mildred Weaver Bair and the widower of Ruth M. Humphrey Bair.
He is survived by a companion, Gladys Perkins; five sons, Ronald L., Scott R. and Mark J., all of Elizabethtown, Alan W. of Rheems and Todd E. of Mt. Joy; two daughters, Brenda Joy Bair of Las Vegas, NV and Lauralee Menear of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Lynn of Florida and Larry of Harrisburg; a sister, Linda Deitrich of Middletown; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown. Burial will be in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
Viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
