George D. "Doc" Yoder Jr., 84, of East Harrisburg Pike, Middletown, died Friday, December 3 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
He was the former owner of Gold Skate Skating Rink, Middletown and the Skate Arena, Sinking Springs.
He was an Army veteran of World War II; member of American Legion Post 594, VFW Post 1620, both of Middletown and World War II Bombadier Club; and a former member of Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce and Roller Skating Association.
He was the widower of Charlotte Dietrich Yoder.
He is survived by a son, Charles A. of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Coralee E. Nicholson of Lake Worth, FL and Suzanne E. Flaig of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Harold of Stoney Creek; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown with The Rev. Paul W. Maulfair officating. Burial will be in Lauraldale Cemetery, Berks County.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Emma Kinsey
Emma E. Brubaker Kinsey, 82, of North Deodate Road, Londonderry Twp., died Saturday, December 4 at home.
She was the widow of Donald R. Kinsey.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Nagle and Kay A. Kinsey, with whom she lived; a brother, John Brubaker of Middletown; a sister, Mary Louise Carlson of Camp Hill; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown with The Rev. Thomas H. Sanagorski officiating. Burial will be in Hillsdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Earl Burris
Earl E. Burris, 75, of Columbia Street, Middletown, died Saturday, November 25 at Frey Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Middletown.
He was a retired business manager at Harrisburg Country Club; a graduate of William Penn High School Class of 1942, Harrisburg; an Army veteran of World War II; member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and American Legion Post 594, both of Middletown, and the Termite Club of Harrisburg.
He was the widower of Christine Verrastro Burris.
He is survived by a niece, Patricia Eby of Camp Hill; two nephews, Chris Burne of South Carolina and Frank Burris of Elizabethtown.
Services were held Wednesday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown with Rev. John Trigilio Jr. officiating. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.

Christiana Crouse
Christiana Springer Crouse, 89, of Dauphin Manor, Swatara Twp., and formerly of Hershey, passed away Monday, December 6 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp.
Born in Middletown on January 19, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lizzie Ebersole Springer.
She was a homemaker; member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Middletown; and loved flowers and cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon C. Crouse, on October 4, 1982.
She is survived by two brothers, John B. Springer of Mt. Juliet, TN and Clarence J. Springer of Middletown; a sister, Elsie M. Clabaugh of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Dr. J. Richard Eckert, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Hillsdale Cemetery, Londonderry Twp.
Friends are invited to call in the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Bertha Grove
Bertha V. Grove of Crown Point, IN, died Tuesday, November 23.
Originally from Rome, NY, she was a member of Crown Point Lutheran Church and graduated from Middletown High School in 1940.
She is survived by a son, David Grove of Rome, NY; a daughter, Susan Bell of Crown Point, IN; a brother, Clayton Keefer of Hummelstown; two sisters, Anne Moore of Camp Hill and Judy Seiders of Middletown; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were handled by Berry Funeral Home, Rome, NY. Burial was in Rome Cemetery, where she was laid to rest beside her late husband, Gilbert Grove, formerly of Middletown.
Kenneth Nicholas
Kenneth L. Nicholas, 81, of Oak Hill Drive, Middletown, died Wednesday, November 24 in IHS of Hershey at Woodlands.
Born in Butler, PA, he was the son of the late W. Hershel and Marilda (Guntz) Nicholas.
He was retired from Three Mile Island and had been a pump operator at the former Crawford Station, Middletown; was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, American Legion and VFW, all of Middletown, Conewago Rod & Gun Club and National Rifle Association; was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Society of the First Infantry Division and the First Engineer Combat Battalion.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth L. II of Battlefield, MO; two brothers, Earl of Butler and Orville of Cabot; five grandchildren, Brian Nicholas, Steven Large, Jennifer Large, Brian Large and Stacey Russell; and three great-grandchildren, Cody, Shaylin and Logan.
He was predeceased by a brother, Glen Nicholas.
Services were held Saturday in Coble-Reber Funeral Home, Middletown with Rev. Paul Zieber officiating. Burial was in Middletown Cemetery.

David Miller
David C. Miller Sr., 65, of Harrisburg and formerly of Highspire, died Wednesday, November 24 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. and Quest Diagnostic, Camp Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Pacella Miller; a son, David C. Jr. of Middletown; three daughters, Linda Thompson of Harrisburg, Kathy Zivanovich of Steelton and Rene Miller Mittenzwei of Peach Tree City, GA; two sisters, E. Jean Young of Middletown and Nancy Crow of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday in Knight Funeral Home, Highspire. Burial was in Highspire Cemetery.

Vicki L. Peters, 50, of East Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, died Thursday, November 25 at Hershey Medical Center.
Born October 27, 1949 in Hershey, PA, she was the daughter of Hubert Saufley and Jacquelyn Bashore Rodkey.
She was a legal secretary for Pierce & Nestico Law Offices, Hershey; a graduate of Palmyra High School and Empire Beauty School, Harrisburg; a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher; and was a member and officer of Chapter #593 Order of the Eastern Star, Middletown.
She is survived by her husband, Earl A. Peters; three daughters, Melinda Marpoe of Harrisburg, Kelly DeChamplain of New Cumberland and Amy Wrightstone of Williamsport; her parents, Hubert Saufley of Lebanon and Jacquelyn Bashore Rodkey of Palmyra; two sisters, Gail Saufley and Tammy Hogue, both of Palmyra; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Sunday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Middletown. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
