Abram Leroy Derr, 78, of Hemlock Hall, Middletown, died Wednesday, September 1 in Hershey Medical Center.
He had been a federal Civic Service employee; was a Navy veteran of World War II; and a member and deacon of First Church of God, Middletown.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Derr; a son, Robert L. of Ohio; a daughter, Jeanne Elliott of Rhode Island; a sister, Adele Krodel of Middletown; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday in his church.
Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Lower Paxton Twp., handled arrangements.

Vivian Clouser
Vivian Okerbloom Clouser, widow of the late Rev. Dr. Paul R. Clouser, died Friday, September 3.
She would have been 103 years old in December.
Mrs. Clouser had been a resident of Frey Village since it opened in 1975-76.
Mrs. Clouser was born in Chicago, and grew up in Harrisburg and Columbus, OH.
She attended Ohio State University.
Married in 1920, she and her husband served parishes in Valley Junction, IA, Marian, OH and Carey, OH before coming to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Middletown in 1941.
At St. Peter's, she was the teacher of the Queen Esther Class from 1944 until 1963.
She was also active in the Woman's Club of Middletown.
Mrs. Clouser was a charter member and past president of Harrisburg Chapter T of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
At Frey Village, she was a founder and participant in the Friends of the Arts and active in the Daily Devotionals program.
She is survived by a daughter, Sara Oates of Pittsburgh and a son, Danner Clouser of Middletown.
She was predeceased by her son, Attorney Paul E. Clouser of Middletown.
Mrs. Clouser is also survived by three nieces, three nephews, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Spring and Union streets, on Friday, September 10 at 1 p.m., followed by burial at Middletown Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Coble-Reber Funeral Home, Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the new building fund at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Eugene Potteiger
Eugene E. Potteiger, 70 of First Street, Sanford, FL and formerly of Middletown, died Sunday, September 5 in the Central Florida Health Center, Sanford.
He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was the widower of Fayette Whisler Potteiger.
He is survived by three daughters, Cathy Yohn of Blain, Nancy Lee Potteiger of Summerdale and Renee Potteiger; three step-daughters, Tammy J. Klopp of Lebanon, Linda K. Packard and Penny L. Kreider, both of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Carol Hortone of Sanford, FL and Shirley Keefer of New Cumberland; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown with Rev. Ronald G. Riggins officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Twp.
Viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
William Cardwell
William O. Cardwell, 82, of Roush Road, Elizabethtown, died Saturday, September 4 at the Middletown Home, Lower Swatara Twp.
He was a retired iron worker; a member of Ironworks Local 201; a Navy veteran of World War II; a member of Middletown Anglers and Hunters Association, Rescue Hose Co., and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1620, all of Middletown.
He is survived by his wife, Iva Mae Perry Caldwell; two sons, William J. of Shippensburg and Kip O. of Martinsburg, WV; and three grandchildren, Brandy Rose, Curlista Gail and Kayla Renee Cardwell.
Services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown, with The Rev. Harold Hess officiating.
Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. to time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mary Geesey
Mary E. Geesey, 94, of the Middletown Home, Lower Swatara Twp., formerly of Middletown and Royalton, died Saturday, September 4 at the home.
She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Middletown.
She was the widow of Frank E. Geesey.
She is survived by a daughter, Marie G. Fox of Hummelstown; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Middletown Cemetery, with The Rev. Dr. J. Richard Eckert, her pastor, officiating.
Arrangements were handled by the Frank E. Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown.
Rosa Vance
Rosa M. Wilson Vance, 90, a resident of Hummelstown for over 40 years, passed away Sunday, September 5, in the Integrated Health Services of Hershey at Woodlands.
Born in Drum Hill, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert William and Berter Wilkins Wilson.
She retired in 1971 from the former Harrisburg Children's Dress Factory after working as a seamstress since she was eight years old.
She was a member of Steelton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patterson P. Vance, on November 6, 1983.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Patterson J. and Cherie Vance of Gates, NC; one sister, Juanita, wife of Martin Greene of Suffolk, VA; one grandson and his wife, Joseph and Wendy Livingood Vance of West Lawn; one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Vance of West Lawn; a niece and her husband, Joyce and Linwood Conrad of Middletown; five nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8 at 11 a.m. in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Charles L. Klinger, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown, officiating.
Interment will be in Fishburn Cemetery, Hershey.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the services.
