Bertha Andria
Bertha Miller Andria, 82, of Fairchance, Pa., died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Beverly Health Care.
She was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Fairchance, Pa., daughter of the late David Townsend and Lorraine Davis Townsend.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred C. Miller and Amadee "Chink" Andria; and five sisters.
Bertha was a former member of the 40/8 Voiture 18.
Surviving are her son, Marvin F. Miller and wife, Marlene of Fairchance; a stepdaughter, Josephine Durham and her husband, Harvey of Little Rock, Ark.; a stepson, Amadee "Chinkie" Andria Jr., and wife, Cecil of St. Cloud, Minn.; grandchildren, Keith and Kathleen Miller, Julie and Tom Genevro, Shana and Mike Peerson, Phillip and Tracy Durham, Aaron Andria and Joe Andria; and great-grandchildren, Kelly Miller and Abby Miller.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church, Fairchance, Pa., today until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Donald Immel officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
Martha E. Jean Carroll
Martha E. Jean Carroll, 83, of 3781 Demura Dr. SE Warren, Ohio, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at 9 a.m., at her residence of heart failure.
She was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Ronco, Pa., daughter of the late Samuel E. and Clara Shaffer Lilley.
Martha was a member of Liberty Bible Church in Vienna, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Carroll, who died on June 3, 1989; and one son, Gary G. Carroll.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas A. Carroll of Brick, N.J., and Richard E. Carroll of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Huseman Martin of Warren, Ohio, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Susan Nevlud of Masontown, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the STATON GILLEN LARKINS FUNERAL HOME, 962 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation will be held in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS Cemetery, Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the hour of service. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of the Valley.
Cora J. Ciarlo
Cora Jane Ciarlo of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was predeceased by her parents, Lorenzo and Theresa Deleon Ciarlo; two brothers, Lawrence W., and an infant brother, Cesare Ciarlo.
She was a graduate of Uniontown High School, and was employed by the Closed Banks division of Uniontown.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Walter R. (Yolande) Baugh, Mrs. John (Carolyn) McMullen and Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Dawson; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be private. Donations, in her name, can be made to St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown.
Elizabeth Cicconi
Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Constantine) Cicconi, 75, of Smock, Pa., died Thursday, June 07, 2001, at Mount Saint Macrina Manor, Uniontown.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Roszak and husband, James of Middletown, Va.; two granddaughters, Jaime and Sara; two sisters, Mary Mehallic of Lorain, Ohio, and Catherine Tuckish and husband, Steve of Smock; three brothers, Robert Constantine and wife, Evelyn and William Constantine and wife, Theresa, all of Smock, and Eugene Constantine and wife, Marie of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Thomas M. Dolfi Funeral Home, 136 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by the funeral home.
William F. Clancey Sr.
William F. Clancey Sr., 80, of Pittsburgh, Pa., went to be with out Lord and his beloved wife of 48 years, Rosemarie Clancey on Wednesday, June 6, 2001.
He was the father of William F. (Renee Blanda) Clancey Jr., RN, and Timothy E. Clancey; and grandfather of Kaitlin R. Clancey. He was loved by his sisters and brother, Mary Thomas and the late George Thomas, Margie Sokol and the late Michael Sokol, and Jack and Marie Clancey.
He was the son of the late William and Margaret (Duff) Clancey.
Friends will be received in the READSHAW FUNERAL HOME INC., 1503 Brownsville Rd., Carrick, today from 2 to 9 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m., with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., in St. Basil Church. Interment will follow in Birmingham Cemetery.
Margaret H. Cook
Margaret H. Cook, 87, of South Connellsville died Wednesday in Highlands Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Keith A. "Cookie" Cook Sr. of South Connellsville and Philip Cook of Mount Braddock; one daughter, Mrs. Theodore (Janice) Rugg of Connellsville, 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a brother, Wayne Huffman of Georgia.
Friends will be received at Vito C. Martucci Funeral Home, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Frances K. Debreczeni
Frances K. (Kutz) Debreczeni, 77, of 800 West Beau St., Washington, Pa., died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at 3:50 p.m., in Washington Hospital.
On June 15, 1943, she married William Debreczeni, who survives and with whom he would have observed their 58th wedding anniversary on June 15, 2001. Also surviving are a daughter, Bonnie Chupaila of Syracuse, N.Y.; one grandson; one granddaughter; two sisters, Agnes Milesky of Parsippany, N.J., and Joan Pierson of West Windsor, N.J.; one brother, Andrew Kutz of Sagertown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Private visitation and services were held in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St., Beallsville.
Elmer Duritsky
Elmer Duritsky, 68, formerly of Oliver No. 1, Pa., died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at his residence.
He was born June 13, 1932, in Oliver No. 1, Pa., the son of the late Frank Martin and Anna (Toshak) Duritsky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Schmidtke; and five brothers, Daniel, Frank, William, John Norman and Edward Duritsky.
He was a social member of the American Legion Post 51, and the VFW Post 47 of Uniontown.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Fern (Matlick) Lynch Duritsky; eight children, Karen Lee Duritsky Martin and fiancée, Mark of Petersburg, Va., David E. Duritsky and wife, Joy Lee of Hood, Texas, Ronald A. Duritsky and wife, Joanne of Ronco, Pa., Gerald A. Duritsky and wife, Margaret Mae of Confluence, Pa., Kevin P. Duritsky and wife, Wanda of Searights, Pa., Frank M. Duritsky and wife, Dawn of Mount Braddock, Pa., Michael T. Duritsky and wife, Kathleen of Masontown, Pa., and April Dawn Duritsky Martin and fiancée, Harry Engle of Uniontown 27 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Caggiano of Oliver, Pa.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 139 West Fayette St., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday at 11 a.m., where a service will be held, with Dr. Gary Herring of the Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Loretta E. Enold
Loretta E. Enold, 79, of Connellsville, Pa., died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Dawson, Pa., a daughter of the late Daniel Morgan and Elizabeth Piper Davis.
Loretta was a graduate of Connellsville High School, and retired in 1978, from the former P&LE Railroad, where she worked as a telegraph operator for 31 and one-half years.
She attended Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Connellsville Senior Tigers.
Loretta is survived by her loving son, John M. Enold of Connellsville; two sisters, Ruth L. Critchfield and Eva G. White, both of Connellsville; and a brother, Donald M. Davis of Strauthers, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene V. Enold; and a sister, Edna Ruth Davis.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, today and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held for Loretta on Sunday, June 10, 2001, at 1 p.m., in the funeral home. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial, Pennsville.
Kenneth B. Evans Sr.
Kenneth Bailey Evans Sr., 71, of Allison, Pa., died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Uniontown Hospital.
He is survived by four sons, James Evans of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kenneth B. Evans Jr., of Seattle, Wash., Ronald A. Bush of Seattle, Wash., and Charles D. Bush of Allison; three daughters, Tonya L. Evans Kirkland of Allison, Jacqueline C. Holman of Baltimore, Md., and Robin Brown of Northfolk, Va.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Baltimore Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m., and on Monday at noon, the hour of service.
William A. Livingston
William Austin Livingston, of Flowery Branch, Ga., formerly of Connellsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Peach Tree Christian Hospice, Ga.
One son, Ronald Livingston of Flowery Branch, Ga., four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one foster sister, Hazel Leighty of Dickerson Run, survive him.
John M. Mackovjak Sr.
John M. "Chug" Mackovjak Sr., 53, of Palmer, Pa., died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Brownsville General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 23, 1947, in Uniontown, Pa., a son of the late Joseph Mackovjak Sr., and Josephine (Kroll) Mackovjak.
John was a graduate of German Township High School, Class of 1965, and was formerly employed with Hillman Barge Company.
He was baptized and served as an altar server during his youth at St. Albert’s Roman Catholic Church of Palmer, Pa.
Surviving are his loving wife of 32 years, Patsy Lee (Norman) Mackovjak; three children: John M. Mackovjak Jr., and Melinda "Missy" Furlong, both of Brownsville, Pa., and Patrick J. "P.J." Mackovjak at home; two brothers, Joseph E. Mackovjak of La Belle, Pa., and Barry Mackovjak of Palmer, Pa.; and two nephews and a niece, Joseph Mackovjak of McClellandtown, Pa., and Michael Norman and Gina Norman, both of Merrittstown, Pa.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 515 North Main St., Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, June 9, 2001, until 9:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., in St. Albert’s Roman Catholic Church, Palmer, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Ronald Rutkowski as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa.
