William M. Foyles
William M. Foyles, 79, of McClellandtown, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born Dec. 7, 1920, in Grant Town, W.Va., the son of the late Cecil Foyles and Debbie Bryne Sharp.
He retired, in 1968, from the United States Army, where he served in World War II, and the Vietnam War.
He was a life member of the Masontown VFW Post 4584.
Surviving are his wife, Cacilia A. (Stern) Foyles; a son, William H. Foyles of Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Silvia Foyles of McClellandtown; two sisters, Bertha Hall of Morgantown, W.Va., and Anna Allensworth of Roswell, N.M.; one brother, Cecil E. Foyles and wife, Maggie of New Geneva, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Elisabeth Grzybowski of Germany; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River avenues, Masontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday at 10 a.m., the hour of service, in the Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Edward Pollock officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Geneva. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by American Legion Post 423, and VFW Post 4584 of Masontown.
Kennedy K. Harris
Kennedy Kenneth Harris, 82, of Fairfax, Va., died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.
He was born Feb. 18, 1918, son of the late Amos C. and Jeannette Kennedy Harris.
He was the beloved husband of Shirley M. Harris; loving father of Cheryl L. Witt, Craig P. Harris, S. Brett Harris and Tracy L. Beachum; brother of Isophene Juran; and grandfather of Duncan, Martin, Ashley and Carley.
Mr. Harris was a 1941 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He retired in 1985, as Chief Engineer, from the U.S. Army Belvoir Research and Development Center.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. J. W. Hormell officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Joyce A. Herwick
Joyce Ann Herwick, 52, of Connellsville, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at home, comforted by her family.
Presently, Joyce worked at her home-based computer business helping college students with term papers and resumes.
She is survived by her mother, Laverne (Sikora) Herwick; two uncles, A. J. Sikora and William Lane, both of Connellsville; two aunts, Dorothy Cramer of Fairborn, Ohio, and Dorothy "Mickey" Cramer of San Diego, Calif.; and many cousins.
Friends will be received in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home Inc., 418 North Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m.
Chloe E. Kolosky
Chloe E. Kolosky, 71, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, in the May Day Manor, Uniontown.
She was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Uniontown, the daughter of the late Gene Gaster and Erma Harris Gaster.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kolosky, in 1996; a sister, Bonnie Fike; and two brothers, Harold and Jack Gaster.
Chloe was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and she enjoyed tours to Atlantic City.
She is survived by two sons, John A. Kolosky Sr., of Fairchance, and Joseph A. Kolosky and wife, Jackie of Lemont Furnace; a brother, George Gaster of Penncraft, Pa.; three sisters, Reta A. Lewis of Uniontown, and Vivian Glover and Delores Lint, both of Lorain, Ohio; three grandchildren, John A. Kolosky Jr. and wife, Lori, Tammy Warren and husband, Jeff and Meghan Kolosky; and one great-grandson, Cody Lee Kolosky.

Charles Kvasnovsky
Charles Kvasnovsky, 65, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000.
He was the beloved husband of Anna; dear father of Charles Jr. (Kristine), Joseph, Michael, Robert (Joanne), Debra (Michael) Saylor and James; grandfather of eight; great-grandfather of three; a brother of Stephen, Julia Kodric, Agatha Kodric, Dorothy O’Neil, Theresa Firestone and Cecelia Kodric.
Friends will be received in the MANNS-FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 17000 Middlebelt (S. of 6 Mile) today from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. The body will lie Instate at 9:30 a.m., at St. Priscilla Catholic Church, 19120 PurlingBrook on Friday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. The Rosary will be recited this evening at 7 p.m.
Gloria M. Lemon
Gloria Mae (Arnette) Lemon, 74, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000.
She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Gail Lemon of Hiller, Pa.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of Hiller, Pa.; four nieces and one nephew; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Law Funeral Home, 135 Angle St., Brownsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, in St. Paul’s Church of Vanderbilt.
Anna M. Mong
Anna M. Mong, 72, of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in the Beverly Health Care Center.
Surviving are two children: a daughter, Antoinette R. Levin and her husband, John of Carmel, N.Y., and a son, Timothy James Mong Sr., and his wife, Christine of Uniontown.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Jerome W. Shell Funeral Home, and will be announced on Friday.
Fern R. Morgan
Fern R. Morgan, 73, of Fredericktown, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at 5:50 p.m., in the Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, Pa.
She was born Oct. 14, 1927, in Vestaburg, Pa., daughter of the late John Rankin and Ethel M. Davis Rankin.
She was a 1945 graduate of East Bethlehem Township High School and was a member of the ladies’ auxiliary of the Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391 of Fredericktown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Morgan Jr., on July 19, 1976; two brothers, Sam Rankin, who died on Feb. 21, 1966, and Jack Rankin, who died on July 20, 1978.
Surviving are two sons, John T. Morgan III of Nemacolin, Pa., and Kenneth W. Morgan of Clarksville, Pa.; one daughter, Michelle (Mickey) Areford of Duncannon, Pa.; one brother, William B. Rankin of Oviedo, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, Fredericktown HILL, 42 Bank St., Fredericktown, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tim Tanner officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
Paul D. Tarcy Sr.
Paul David Tarcy Sr., 56, of Smithfield, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born Sept. 10, 1944, in Weston, Ontario, Canada, son of the late Rev. Paul Tarcy and Edith Irene Chester Tarcy.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Jo Clark Tarcy; two children, Paul David Tarcy Jr., and Phillip C. Tarcy and his wife, Christine of Smithfield, Pa.; two grandchildren, Hannah Marie Tarcy and Luke Garron Tarcy; and two sisters, Sylvia Bastin of Athens, Ohio, and Edith Crow and her husband, Alvin of Smithfield, Pa.
Dave was a graduate of Albert Gallatin, Class of 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1967. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and the Paul Tarcy Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in Mt. George L. Zemencik
George L. Zemencik, 82, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1918, in Washington, Pa., the son of the late Joseph Zemencik and Mary Babinsky Zemencik.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph Zemencik; one brother-in-law, Anthony Habinak; two sisters, Mary Semancik and Helen Habinak; and one sister-in-law, Julia Zemencik.
George was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army in the European Theater Operation, was a life member of VFW Post 47, and also a member of American Legion 949.
He was retired from Post Master of the Van Voorhis Post Office after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Norma Morris Zemencik; one brother, Frank Zemencik; his mother-in-law, Viola Morris; a sister-in-law, Loretta Coffman-Aultman, and one brother-in-law, John Semancik, both of Van Voorhis, Pa.; two nephews, Larry Semancik and Jeffrey Coffman; four nieces, Helene Wozniak, Joan Ciccarelli, Betty Madera and Jane Turrill; and several great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, today at 9 a.m., the hour of a Blessing Service, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m., in St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Sarah Capranica
Sarah (Miller) Capranica, 87, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, November 28, 2000 in Mount Macrina Manor.
She was born Dec. 25, 1912 in Calumet, Pa., daughter of the late Joseph H. and Jenny A. (Gettemy) Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Minnie J. Doppelhauer and Etta Miller; and brothers, Joseph H., James G., and Lawrence Miller.
Mrs. Capranica was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Patsy R. Capranica; a son, Pat R. Capranica and wife Mary Lou of Raytown, Mo; a daughter, Sandra Williams and husband William of Uniontown, Pa.; four grandsons; three granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Guy Miller of Uniontown, Pa.
Friends will be received in THE HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 139 W. Fayette Street, Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday until 9 a.m., when a prayer service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m., in St. Therese R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Patrick O’Connor as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
