Providence R. Rodgers, Mount Pleasant
Providence R. Rodgers, 85, of Mount Pleasant, R.D.5, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, in the Harmon House. She was born May 14, 1915, in Calumet, Mount Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Rosario and Mary Graziano Petrantoni. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society. She was a 1933 graduate of the former Hurst High School. She was a former member of the Westmoreland County Republican Committee, and had been employed by the Mount Pleasant Area High School cafeteria. She is survived by her loving family, her son, William J. Rodgers II and wife, Roxanne, of Mount Pleasant, R.D.5; her daughters, Claudia Yothers of Mount Pleasant, R.D.5 and Rosemary Brady and husband, James, of Acme; four grandchildren, Bobbi Lynn Yothers, Phillip Jonathan Rodgers, Glen and Mark Brady; a brother, Joseph Petrantoni of Pittsburgh; and two sisters, Kay Capozzi and Betty Todaro and husband, Tony, both of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Rodgers II in 1988; her son-in-law, Richard W. Yothers in 1997; a brother, Carl Petrantoni; and two sisters, Rose Cramer and Mary Avampato. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Father Leonard Bealko officiating.
John Weinman, Mount Pleasant
John Kevin Bruce Weinman, 49, of Mount Pleasant, R.D.4 (Bridgeport), died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at his residence. He was born Feb. 22, 1951, in Mount Pleasant. Kevin was a graduate of the Mount Pleasant Area High School with the Class of 1970, and also a former student of Westmoreland County Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam era, and had also served in the Army Reserves. He was employed as a truck driver for S&M Trucking of Allison Park. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 3368, the American Legion Post No. 446 and the Bridgeport Sportsmen. He is survived by his mother, Norma J. Myers Weinman of Mount Pleasant, R.D.4; his former wife, Sandra Lee Weinman of Mount Pleasant; two sons, David J. Weinman and wife, Melissa, of Scottdale and John Kevin Joseph Weinman and wife, Pamela, of Mooresville, N.C.; four grandchildren, John Phillip Michael Weinman, Kimberly Ann Weinman, Brooke Lee Weinman and Jack Bruce Weinman; a brother, Keith Wayne Weinman and wife, Kathy, of Bridgeport; three sisters, Kathy Sue Eutsey and husband, Hobart, of Scottdale, Kristin Ann Wastchak and husband, John, of Venetia, Pa., and Kelly Jean Chiemingo and husband, Todd, of Tabernacle, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Bruce Weinman, on June 12, 2000. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mount Pleasant, today from 2 to 9 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at l p.m. with Pastor Ardyth Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlick Cemetery with military rites by the members of the American Legion Post No. 446.
Glenn E. Nutt, Grindstone
Glenn E. Nutt, 71, of Grindstone, died Friday. Nov., 10, 2000, at 6:05 a.m. in his home. He was born May 1, 1929, at Grindstone, son of the late Ewing and Ruth A. Arnold Nutt. Glenn was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church in Uniontown. He was a member of Curfew Grange No. 1052 and past master. He was also past state deputy, past state financial officer for the PA State Grange, member of Pomona Grange, and National Grange. He was a leader for various 4-H Clubs and Boy Scouts, Past President of Dawson-Vanderbilt Lions Club, member of Odd Fellows Club, Waltersburg, Bell Telephone 100,000 Mile Club, Pioneer Club, PA Farmers Association, and PA Game Commission. Glenn was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. Glenn retired from Bell Telephone in 1984 after 31 years of service. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Fanchon Fields Nutt and the following children: Scott Nutt and wife Linda of Clearfield, Mrs. James (Shannon) Barkley, Jeff Nutt, Robyn Maust, Mrs. Robert (Beth) McClain, all of Grindstone; grandchildren, Samantha, Jeffery, Justin, Allen, Chris, Kalen, Jeremy, and Emilee; one sister and one brother, Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Metz of Bentleyville and Merle Nutt and wife, Betty of Perryopolis. Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 E. Independence St., Perryopolis, today and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday until 1 p.m., the hour of service with the Rev. William Rodahaver officiating. Interment in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. Curfew Grange No. 1052 will have a service Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Graveside military rites will be accorded by Perryopolis VFW Gold Star Post No. 7023 and American Legion No. 752.
Blanche E. Brooks, Connellsville
Blanche E. Brooks, 98, of Connellsville, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, in the Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. She was born March 3, 1902, in Normalville, a daughter of the late John B. and Rachel Long Brooks. Mrs. Brooks was a longtime resident of Bullskin Township, and she was a member of the Connellsville Senior Citizens and she attended the Church of the Open Door. She is survived by two sons, John H. Brooks of Connellsville and Glenn D. Brooks and his wife, Karen, of Connellsville; two daughters, Lillian Doppelheuer of Somerset, Ky. and Hilda DeWitt and her husband, Lee, of Mount Pleasant, R.D.2; 16 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 16 step great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Curtis Brooks, in 1959; two sons, James Robert Brooks and Donald Brooks; two brothers, Homer and Clyde Pritts; five sisters, Ida and Hannah Prinkey, Bessie and Elizabeth Sleasman and Esther Flydell. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Wade Kuhlewind officiating. Interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery.

John W. Cole, 80, of Connellsville, passed away early this morning, Friday, Nov. 10, 2000. Arrangements are under the direction of the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, and will be announced when completed.
Joyce Ann Herwick, Connellsville
Joyce Ann Herwick, 52, of Connellsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at home comforted by her family. She was born June 20, 1948, in Connellsville, a daughter of Laverne (Sikora) Herwick and the late Thomas Herwick. Joyce was a graduate of Geibel Catholic High School, Class of 1969. Afterwards, she graduated in 1974 from Seton Hill College with a B.A. Degree in Psychology and a minor in Elementary Education. Presently, she worked at her home based computer business helping college students with term papers and resumes. She also volunteered at the Connellsville Senior Center for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church and its Christian Mothers. She also helped to coordinate the church's R.C.I.A. program and would often participate as a lector. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two uncles, A.J. Sikora and William Lane, both of Connellsville; two aunts, Dorothy Cramer of Fairborn, Ohio and Dorothy "Mickey" Cramer of San Diego, Calif.; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Katheryn Cramer; an aunt, Cathleen "Kitchie" Lane; and two uncles, Alex H. and Raymond J. Cramer. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where a blessing service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception RC Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Father Michael Sciberras as celebrant and the Rev. Father Thomas Federline as co-concelebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph RC Cemetery, Connellsville. Elizabeth Holland, Mount Braddock
Elizabeth Cole Holland, 90, of Mount Braddock, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at home. She was born Jan. 15, 1910, in Mount Braddock, daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine Andree Cole. She was a homemaker, a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Moose Post 228 of Uniontown, VFW Post 47 of Uniontown, and VFW Home Post, Chicago, Ill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Holland on June 2, 1986; a son, Harold Holland; three brothers, Samuel, Harry and Charles Cole; four sisters, Rose Anna Cooke, Alice Dobis, Blanche Cole and Edith Cole; and seven grandchildren. Surviving are five sons, Earl of Mount Braddock, Robert and Harry, both of Dunbar, Benjamin of West Leisenring, and James of New Cumberland, Ohio; seven daughters, Ruth Hair of Dunbar, Janet Norris of Mount Braddock; Catherine, at home, Fern Rush of Glengary, W.Va., Barbara Marreno of Lorain, Ohio, Alice Conn of New Cumberland, Ohio, and Mary Ann Fenillo of Elyria, Ohio; four sisters, Edna Stimmel of Mercer, Pa., Roberta Franks of West Salem, Ohio, Elsie Hager of Brownsville, and Catherine Hickman of Grindstone; four grandchildren, whom she raised, Joyce, Patty, Elizabeth and Lisa; 62 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, on Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Monday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Jeffrey Popson officiating. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Leone H. McCracken, Latrobe
Leone H. McCracken, 77, of Latrobe, formerly of Mount Pleasant and East Huntingdon Township, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Laurel Estates Inc., Latrobe. She was born Jan. 23, 1923, in Manor, a daughter of the late Leo Glenn and Nona Cecil Work Howell. She was a member of Reunion Presbyterian Church, Mount Pleasant. Leone was an avid dulcimer player. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse with the Connellsville State Hospital. She was a graduate of Norwin High School and Greensburg Nursing School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ralph C. McCracken on Nov. 4, 2000; a brother, Walter Howell; and two sisters, Laurine Walters and Jeanne Good. She is survived by two sons, David R. McCracken and wife, Kathy of Ithaca, N.Y. and Dennis J. McCracken and wife, Shirley of Greensburg; a daughter, Leslie J. Zaronsky and husband, Clare "Bud" of Shawsville, Va.; five grandchildren, Denise Smith, Terri and Michael Zaronsky and Patrick and Amanda McCracken and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME, INC., Main Street, Mount Pleasant, Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis J. Hoffman, officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Anna M. Mong, Uniontown
Anna M. Mong, 72, of Uniontown, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in the Beverly Healthcare Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Perryopolis, a daughter of the late Louis and Helen Simko Sherrock. Also preceding her in death were her first husband, Anthony E. Isola and her second husband James Edwin Mong. Surviving are two children, Toni Isola Levin and her husband John Levin of Mahopac, N.Y. and Timothy James Mong Sr. and his wife Christine of Uniontown; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Louis Sherrock Jr. and his wife Lucy of Las Cruces, N. M. and John Sherrock and his wife Carol of Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Mong was a former employee of Karts, Hills Department Store and The New Bridal Boutique. Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday until 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Therese R.C. Helen K. Fazenbaker
Helen K. Kvak Morganosky Fazenbaker, 81, of Woodcrest Circle, Scottdale, formerly of Uniontown, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at her residence. She was born April 19, 1919, in Collier, Fayette County, a daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Pauline Palo Kvak. Helen was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Scottdale, and a former member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown. She was also a member of the Jednota Lodge and Catholic Slovak Union. She was a volunteer cook for St. Mary's and St. John's Parochial schools of Uniontown for four years and a lifelong resident of the city of Uniontown, residing on Walter Street, until she relocated to Scottdale in 1997. Helen leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children, Paul J. Morganosky and his wife, Esther, of Brooklyn, Ohio, Gloria Ann Hostetler and her husband, James, of New Smynra Beach, Fla., Thomas L. Morganosky and his wife, Carla, of Hopwood, and Donna Marie McRae and her husband, Glenn, of Birmingham, Ala.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Kvak Jr., of Uniontown; two sisters, Ann Strick and her husband, John, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Ann Palacz of Cleveland, Ohio; and several stepchildren. Mary P. Gray, 57, of Connellsville passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, in Highlands Hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late James V. and Marie A. Aretta Jordan. She was a Catholic by faith. She was formerly employed by the Ames Department Store, Mount Pleasant for several years. Mary is survived by her husband, Robert Danny Gray to whom she was married 37 years; a son, Daniel C. Gray and his wife, Cathy of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a daughter, Holly Marie Green and her husband, Matthew C. of Scottdale; three grandchilden, Tylar Gray, Brandon Green and Morgan Green; three sisters, Theresa Jordan and Bonnie Jordan, both of Connellsville and Pam DeBerry and her husband, Thomas of South Connellsville; a brother, James Jordan and his wife, Candy of Smithfield; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Gray of Hopwood; her father-in-law, Charles Rishel of Hopwood; two nephews, Adam Jordan and Jeff Jordan, both of Connellsville; brothers-in-law, Melvin Gray and wife, Pat of Massachusetts and Jerry Gray of Tennessee and several aunts and uncles. Julianna S. Laick
Julianna S. Laick, 78, of Mount Pleasant, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000. She died at her home and was surrounded by her loving family, her husband of 58 years, Matthew T. Laick; three sons and a daughter, Richard Laick and his wife, Mary Ellen, of San Antonio, Texas, and his children, Stephanie and Steven, Matthew Laick and his wife, Gladys, of Mount Pleasant, R.D.5, and their children, Matthew and Jessica, Rosemary Clark and her husband, Bill, and their children, Jeremy, Angela and Krista and James Laick and his wife, Karen, of Mount Pleasant and their son Michael. She was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Trauger, Pa., the daughter of the late Stephen and Barbara Mraz Vagasky. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Laick had been employed at Frick Hospital's X-ray department. Julianna was a member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church of Mount Pleasant and its Christian Mothers and Rosary Altar societies. She is survived by her brother, Stephen Vagasky and his wife, Theresa, who was a dedicated and loving caregiver to her sister-in-law. In addition to her parents, Julianna was preceded in death by her brother, John Vagasky in 1980; and two sisters, Margaret Vagasky Simcera in 1943 and Mary Garcar in 1995. Friends will be received at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Mass will be held at the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Mount Pleasant at 10 a.m. Nov. 10, with the Rev. Father Anthony W. Ditto officiating. Visitation Rosary and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Interment at Visitation Parish Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Terrance Gregg Lambie
Terrance "Terry" Gregg Lambie, 54, of Dunbar, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Aug. 6, 1946 in Uniontown, a son of the late Sterling and Josephine (Burnsworth) Lambie. Terry was a graduate of Dunbar Township High School Class of 1965. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He was a part owner of Lambie Brothers & Son Sawmill in Dunbar, the owner of Lambie Construction Company and presently was the owner of Terrace Acres and Sunnydale Gardens Mobile Home Parks in Scottdale. He was Protestant by faith. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Regina Bigley Lambie; two sons, Terrance Gregg Lambie Jr., and Bradley Alan Lambie, both of Dunbar; a daughter, Kelley Dawn Lambie of Dunbar; three brothers, Sterling Lambie and wife, Laura, Bernard Lambie and wife, Lori and David Lambie and wife, Lori, all of Dunbar; five sisters, Myra Smith and husband, Al of Mill Run, Shirley Liston and husband, Billy of Dunbar, Mary DeMott and husband, Albert of Dunbar, Janet Shoemaker and husband, Gary of Dunbar, Alice Cook and husband, Sam of Dunbar, also many nieces and nephews.
