Adelaide L. McCartney Wolfe, 88, of Ohiopyle, Pa., went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday, February 21, 2000, from the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born January 15, 1912, in Farmington, Pa., to Albert McCartney and Lauretta Kunkle McCartney.
Adeline was a very active member of the Ohiopyle United Methodist Church since September 2, 1927, where she served in various offices including treasurer, the position she held until January of 2000.
Her beloved husband, David A. Wolfe, died in 1961. Also deceased are her parents and two brothers, Robert "Bob" McCartney and James "Jim" McCartney.
Surviving are three brothers: Albert "Wayne" McCartney and wife, Arlene, of Lakeland, Florida, Walter McCartney of Hudson, Ohio, J. Sturgean "Doc" McCartney and wife, Betty, of Richmond Heights, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME OF FARMINGTON, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues Saturday, February 26, in Ohiopyle United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of the service with the Rev. Thomas Bonomo, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Sansom Chapel Cemetery, Farmington.

Edwin W. Camlin Sr.
Edwin W. Camlin Sr., 87, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, February 20, 2000, at Uniontown Hospital.
He was born October 18, 1912, in Scottdale, Pa., son of James Camlin and Ida May Dawager Camlin.
Mr. Camlin was a member of Grace Chapel Presbyterian Church in High House, Pa., member and past President of the Hopwood Lions Club Life, and also a member of the Fayette County Retired Teachers Association.
His wife, Martha Franks Camlin; his brothers George and Paul Camlin, and his parents are deceased
He is survived by one son, Edwin Camlin Jr. and wife, Toni, of Edmonds, Oklahoma; one brother, James Camlin Jr. of Scottdale, Pa.; one sister, Donna Tetenbrink of Scottdale; and one grandchild, Ann Maria Camlin.
Friends will be received in the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, February 25, until 11 a.m., the hour of service with the Rev. Douglas Esslinger-Hileman officiating.
Interment will follow in Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery.
Samuel W. Dean
Samuel W. Dean, 74, of Ohiopyle, Pa., passed away Tuesday evening, February 22, 2000, in Fay-West Health System's Highlands Hospital, Connellsville.
He was born July 7, 1925 in Stewart Township, son of the late Harry and Ella Holland Dean.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by these brothers and sisters: Harry, Melvin, Opal, Fred, Goldie Hall, Amanda Deberry and Glady Jackson.
Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Mabel M. Williams Dean; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Doris Ann) Harshman; and a son Sam W. Dean and wife Tracy, all of Ohiopyle; five grandchildren: Mrs. Jeffrey (Tina Marie) Wilson, Mrs. Edward (Tamara Lynn) Smith, all of Uniontown, Cpl. Derek E. Harshman and fiance L. Cpl. Bridget Alana Le Wilde with the U.S. Marines in Okinawa, Japan, Bryan David Burnsworth and Sammi Jo Dean of Ohiopyle; seven great-grandchildren: Todd Lee, Jeffrey S. Jr., Tyler Ray, Brittany Lynn, Jesse W. Wilson and Tricia Sue, Michael Louis, and Steven Andrews.; two sisters, Mrs. Dolly Silbaugh of Armington and Mrs. Edna Woodmancy of Markleysburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dean worked for Uniontown School District as a custodian for 31 years until his retirement in 1985. He ws a member of the Ohiopyle Volunteer Fire Department and was Captain for many years.
He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1947. He was a member of the AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, the Yough Valley Ambulance Corp and worked with the Water Sewage Company. He was a graduate of Ohiopyle High School in 1943. Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD HOME, of Farmington today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday morning until 11 a.m., the hour of the service with Rev. James Smiley officiating.
Interment will follow in Irwin Memorial Cemetery.
The AMVETS Post 103 will accord military rites at graveside.
William L. Elek
William L. Elek, 81, of Maple Heights, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 22, 2000 in the V.A. Hospital, Brecksville, Ohio.
He was born October 31, 1918 in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Andrew Elek and Susan Kovach Elek.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Sally Daugherty, Helen Elek and Margaret Jefferies; and three brothers: Andrew, Julius and Joseph Elek.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine E. Swartz Elek; two children: Mary Ann Marks and her husband William of Maple Heights, Ohio and Danny J. Elek and his wife Jane of Geneva on the Lake, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and three sisters: Elizabeth Adams of Haydentown, Rosella Lisius of Redford Township, Mich. and Elsie Drake of Framington, Mich.
Mr. Elek was a veteran of World War II where he served with the Army Air Force earning the distinguished Flying Cross with one bronze Cluster, Air Medal with one bronze Oakleaf Cluster, Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with one bronze Battle Star, American Theater Medal and Victory Medal.
Bill was also a member of American Legion Post 309, Maple Heights, Ohio and the John W. Barkley Masonic Lodge 521 of Cleveland, Ohio.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St., Fairchance, Pa. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2000 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 26 until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Keith Simmons officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.
Jimmy Givens
Jimmy Givens, 28, of Brownsville, Pa. died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born June 29, 1971 in Charleroi, Pa., he was a son of the late William Allen Givens and Harriet Means Givens of Brownsville.
In addition to his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents; and by brother, William Allen Givens.
Jimmy was baptized in the Newell United Methodist Church.
He was a machine operator for Timberline Corrugated Paper, California Industrial Park.
Jimmy was a childhood survivor of cancer and received a bicycle from the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 1984.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers: Glenn Givens and his wife Jacqueline of Marianna and Allen Givens of Perryopolis; a sister, Tracy Marflak and her husband John of Finleyville; his girlfriend of two years, Carrie Price of Denbo; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends in the CONFER FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front St., Brownsville today from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb 26, 2000 from 10 until 11 a.m, the hour of service, with Rev. Conway Keibler, retired United Methodist Pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in West Bend Cemetery, East Millsboro, Pa.
Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Maxine B. Jann
Maxine Burd Jann, 65, of Ashtabula, Ohio and formerly of Markleysburg, Pa. passed away February 18, 2000 at her home.
She was born January 15, 1935 in Markleysburg, Pa., daughter of the late Park and Opal Humberson Burd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Jann, in 1996; and a brother, Harold Burd, in 1982.
Surviving are four sisters: Susan Loretta Guthrie of Markleysburg, Shirley Burd DeCarlo of Gibbon Glade, Sharon Ferrato and husband Robert of Pittsburgh, and Diane Bealko and husband Larry of Apollo; three nephews; and four nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000 at 2 p.m. in Union Chapel Church, Flatrock Road, Markleysburg with Rev. Shirley Norman officiating.

Joe Margetich
Joe Margetich, 81, of Jefferson, Pa., died Monday, February 21, 2000 in Bialko's Rest Home, Waynesburg.
Mr. Margetich was a retired coal miner from Mather Colleries.
Surviving are two sisters: Mildred Hastings of Carlsbad, N.M. and Marcella Margetich of Washington, D.C.; two nieces; and two nephews.
Friends will be received from 10 to 12 Noon on Friday, Feb. 25 in the Behm Funeral Home, Jefferson and at 12:30 p.m. in St. Marcellus Roman Catholic Church, the hour of service.
Norma M. Shanefelter
Norma Martinelli Shanefelter, 87, of Smock Reservoir died Monday, February 21, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.
She was born October 30, 1912, in the Solmona Abruzzi Region, Italy, daughter of Luigi Martinelli and Rose Leopardi Martinelli.
She was a member of St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock.
Preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Joseph, Richard, Lawrence and Anthony Martinelli.
She is survived by four sons: David Shanefelter and his wife, Bernie, of Greensburg, Pa., Denny Shanefelter and his wife, Ruth Ann, of Smock Reservoir, Robert Shanefelter and his wife, Mary Ann, of Connecticut, and Thomas Shanefelter and his wife, Carol, of Perryopolis, Pa.; 10 grandchildren: David Shanefelter, Debbie Poklembo, Jennifer Palmer, Beth Shanefelter, Mark Shanefelter, Kelly Lambrick, Katrina Shanefelter, Sherry Masney, Nancy Mickey, and Thomas Shanefelter; three great-grandchildren: Lara Mickey, Michelle Mickey, and Cullen Masney; a brother, James Martinelli and his wife, Evelyn, of State Line, Pa.; two sisters: Lena Hisnanick of Perryopolis, Pa., and Geraldine Brill and her husband, Gerald, of Bethel Park, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, February 25, at 10 a.m. in St. Hedwig R.C. Church, Smock, for a Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. John A. Sedlak as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Parish Vigil Service was held Wednesday evening.
Confraternity Rosary Society will recite the Rosary this evening at 7:30.
