Ann J. Horchar Mains, 76, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at her home. She was born February 27, 1924, in Lemont Furnace, Pa., daughter of John Horchar and Martha Fecek Horchar. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven Horchar and Joseph Horchar, two sisters, Mary Jean Cunningham and Helen Klink, and her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Enoch W. Mains Jr.; three children: Lolita "Cookie" Braddee of Uniontown, Pa., Enoch W. Mains III and his wife, Linda, of Hopwood, Pa., and Richard L. Mains of Amend, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Susan, Mark, Eric, Traci, Enoch IV "Butchie", Brandon, Chad; nine great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS Cemetery, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, April 20, until 1 p.m., the hour of service with the Rev. Paul N. Frank officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Marianna W. McClelland
Marianna W. (Wright) McClelland, 83, a lifelong resident of Masontown, Fayette County, Pa., died Saturday, April 15, 2000, in Bouras Personal Care Home, Farmington, where she had been a resident since June 1999. She was born in Ronco, Pa., September 6, 1916, daughter of the now late Richard K. Wright and Deborah Lloyd Wright. She was a retired Postmaster of Masontown, Pa., a member of First Presbyterian Church in Masontown, a Charter Member of the Masontown B.P.W., a graduate of the former Masontown High School, and a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Army Lt. Ewing R. McClelland in 1945, an infant granddaughter, and four brothers, Richard K. Wright, Lloyd A. Wright, Thomas R. Wright, and Attorney Ben F. Wright. She is survived by three children: Ewing R. McClelland and his wife, Virginia, of Waynesburg, Pa., Dr. Ben W. McClelland and his wife, Susan, of Oxford, Mississippi, and Mary Jane Dooley and her husband, Edwin L., of Farmington, Pa.; and grandchildren: Ben L. McClelland, Amy L. McClelland, Ewing R. McClelland, Marianne Dooley, Edwin L. Dooley III and his wife, Tracy, Ryan McClelland, Brooke McClelland, Kellie McClelland, and Kevin Cooper. Friends will be received in the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday, April 19, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of service with the Rev. Paul N. Frank officiating. Elsie Wilson Price
Elsie Wilson Price, 100, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare Center. She was born November 23, 1899, in Henry Clay Township, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of William McClelland Wilson and Lillie Kennison Wilson. Mrs. Price was a lifelong member if Asbury United Methodist Church, member of the Uniontown Travel Club, and a graduate of Uniontown High School. Her husband, William Wilgus Price, died in 1970. Also deceased are two sisters, Nellie Molton and Katie Umbel, a brother, Earl Wilson, and her parents. She is survived by a niece whom she raised, Maralou W. Campbell of Uniontown; three nephews: William Molton of Upper St. Clair, Dr. Eugene Umbel and Clayton Wilson both of Uniontown. Private services will be held in the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., today, Tuesday, April 18, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James P. Fogg Jr. officiating. Private interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Anna Louise Sumey
Anna Louise Holland Sumey, 88, a resident of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, April 17, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Uniontown, Pa., September 7, 1911, a daughter of William A. Holland and Ida Mae Wismer Holland. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of the former Baker Bible Class, and a member of the WELCA. She taught in the Primary Sunday School Department for 55 years, served in the Church Choir for 60 years, and served as Church Organist for 20 years. She was also a member of the Letter Carriers Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Burdette Sumey, in 1995, two brothers, Wismer and Keil, a sister, Emily Katherine Oldland, and her parents. Surviving are two children: Eloise Jackson and her husband, Robert, of Farmington, Pa., and James William Sumey and his wife, Ruth Ann, of York, Pa.; a brother, Paul Edward Holland of York, Pa.; two granddaughters: Sharon and Carol; and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 19, from 12 Noon until 1:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 71 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, with the Rev. Paul N. Frank Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Chalk Hill, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Pipe Organ Fund.
Timothy Allen Tracy Jr.
Timothy Allen Tracy Jr., 18, of Morgantown Road, Smithfield, Pa., died Saturday, April 15, 2000. He was born March 9, 1982, in Uniontown, Pa., son of Timothy A. Tracy Sr. and Antoinette Paul Tracy of Smithfield, Pa. Timmy was an active member of Beulah Baptist Church, Smithfield, Pa., an eleventh grade student at Albert Gallatin Senior High School, and a member of the school's Colonial Football Team. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Dewvaul Tracy Sr., paternal uncle, Raymond Tracy, and maternal aunt, Christy Paul. Surviving are his father, Timothy A. Tracy Sr., and his mother, Antoinette Paul Tracy; two sisters: Telsha Tracy and Teanna Tracy both at home; his paternal grandmother, Corinne Hart Tracy of Smithfield; maternal grandparents, James and Margaret Paul of Littlestown, Pa.; his Godparents, Robert and Delores Washington of Lake Lynn, Pa., and Margaret Paul of Baltimore, Maryland; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Thursday, April 20, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dewvaul Tracy Jr. officiating assisted by the Rev. Howard E. Dantzler. The Eulogy will be by the Rev. Mary Morgan. Interment in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa. Helen Bilpush Worrell
Helen Bilpush Worrell, 83, of Denbo, Pa., died Monday, April 17, 2000, in Canonsburg Hospital, Canonsburg, Pa. She was born March 20, 1917, daughter of Stephen Bilpush and Anna Vrable Bilpush. Her husband, Thomas E. Worrell, sons, Robert "Red" Worrell, sisters, Anna Dellarosa and Julia Ewing, brothers, Steve and Andy Bilpush, and her parents are deceased. She is survived by three children: Thomas Worrell, Industry, Pa., Raymond Worrell, Daisytown, Pa., and Nancy Clipper, Low Hill, Pa.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 19, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Norman Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
August M. Bittner Jr.
August "Augie" M. Bittner Jr., 81 of Dunbar Township, Pa., died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at his residence.
He was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1936. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was employed by Steel Scaffolding Company.
Surviving are his wife of over 50 years, Mary A. (Masterbray) Bittner; his children, Mrs. Christine Satovich and husband, George of New Salem, Mr. Joseph Bittner of Dunbar Township, Mrs. Celeste Bittner-Habib and husband, Jeffrey of Camp Hill, Pa., and Augustine Bittner and wife, Penny of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home Inc., 418 North Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m.
James H. Dray
James H. Dray, 67, of Richeyville, Pa., died Tuesday, May 2, 2000.
He was born July 25, 1932, in Beallsville, Pa., the son of the late Edwin E. and Dorothy Baker Dray.
James was formerly employed by Bethlehem Mine Corporation, Mine 51, as a foreman, and he retired from PennDOT.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
James was a member of Centerville American Legion, where he was Past Commander, and he was also a member of the Centerville Sportsman Club. He was a 1950 graduate of Centerville High School.
Surviving are his wife, Hilda (Arias) Dray, whom he marriage on Nov. 11, 1955; two sons, James E. Dray of Uniontown, Pa., and Lawrence C. Dray of Stow, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sarah Dray and Katie Dray; one grandson, Jared A. Dray; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Frances) Cicero of Washington, Pa., and Mrs. H. Newton (Kathryn) Williams of Falls Church, Va.
Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, Route 40, Beallsville, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, May 5, 2000, at 10 a.m., the hour of service. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, West Pike Run Township. Full military rites will be accorded at the graveside by the Centerville American Legion.
