Ruth Marie Fike, 82, of 600 Bruceton Rd., Markleysburg, Pa., died Monday, May 1, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Fearer, Md., the daughter of the late William Reese and Emma (Frazee) Reese Frantz.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Claude C. Fike.
Mrs. Fike was a member of the Asher Glade Church of the Brethren and was a homemaker.
Surviving are three sons, Vernon P. Teets of Barberton, Ohio, W., Wayne Teets of Akron, Ohio, and Melvin E. Fike of Markleysburg, Pa.; one daughter, Linda E. Tressler of Confluence, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Shirley Potter of Middletown, Va., and Lila Griffith of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers, Darwin Reese of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., and Paul Reese of Friendsville Md.; one half-brother, Lee Frantz of Friendsville; one sister, Verna Sisler of Friendsville; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the NEWMAN FUNERAL HOME, P.A., Friendsville, Md., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 1 p.m., in the Asher Glade Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Samuel Moon officiating. Interment will be in Asher Glade Cemetery.
Sol B. Litman Jr.
Sol B. Litman Jr., 79, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 18, 1921, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Sol B. Litman Sr., and Gladys Browning Litman.
Sol was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and Pipe Fitters Local 354.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanne A. Grimm Litman; two sons, Dan and his wife, Janine of Pittsburgh, and Barry and his wife, Mary Carol of Uniontown; a daughter, Pamela Ferguson and her husband, Roger of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Jeanne L. Dick of Uniontown, Mary Ann Thomas of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Ella K. Miller of Bonita Springs, Fla.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2000, at 11 a.m., in LaFayette Memorial Park, with the Rev. Thomas R. Finnie officiating. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be given to the Albert Gallatin Hospice, 20 Highland Park Dr., Uniontown, PA 15401. Arrangements are under the direction of the ANDREW D. Bernard S. Prah Sr., 64, beloved husband of the late Norma; dearest son of Martin J. Prah and Anna J. (Unetich) Prah; loving father of Bernard S. Prah Jr., Robert J. Prah and Catherine Pavosevic; dear brother of Joseph, Edward, Mary Jane Lucia, Teresa Perrotta, Cecelia Cain, Martin Prah (deceased) and Anna Prah (deceased); and dearest grandfather of eight; and great-grandfather of one.
The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m., in the ZAK FUNERAL HOME, 6016 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Chapel service will be followed by a 10 a.m., Mass at St. Francis Church (East 71st and Superior). Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery.

Ernest Ropele, 75, of Chicago, Ill., and formerly of Clarksville, Pa., died Saturday, April 29, 2000, in Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago.
He is survived by one daughte,r Sandra L. Ropele of Fredericktown, Pa.; three sisters, Rominia Evans of Fort Pierce, Fla., Margaret Denny of Sharon, Pa., and Elizabeth Belschner of Penn Hills, Pa.; two brothers, Henry Ropele of Sharon, Pa., and Aldo Ropele of Clarksville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Greenlee Funeral Home, Route 40, Beallsville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service.
Crystal L. Shaffer
Crystal L. Shaffer, 67, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, May 1, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born April 4, 1933, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late Jesse and Margaret (Pierce) Franklin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph X. Shaffer, in 1994; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are nine children: Ralph E. Shaffer, Harold E. Shaffer, Henry H. Shaffer, Richard L. Shaffer and Ruth Jordan, all of Uniontown, Pa., John P. Shaffer of Footedale, Pa., and Bobby E. Shaffer of Hopwood, Pa., Sandra Verbus of Cardale, Pa., and Evelyn Frazier of Masontown, Pa.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Mae Fabian and Agnes Casteel, both of Uniontown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Albert Smalley
Albert Smalley, 67, of Uniontown, Pa. died suddenly May 1, 2000 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born in Edenborn, Pa., the son of Anna Smalley Shultz.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peral Metts Smalley; stepfather, Joseph Shultz; and a brother, Franklin Smalley.
He was a Methodist by faith; a member of the AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, North Union VFW Post 8543, and American Legion Post 4 of Carmichaels.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Albert F. Smalley of Uniontown, and John M. Smalley of Grays Landing; two stepchildren, Linda Simmons and Arthur E. Metts of Uniontown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Viola M. Springer
Viola M. (Fabrycki) Springer, 57, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Beverly Health Care, in Uniontown, Pa., after a brief, courageous battle with Cancer.
She was born May 6, 1942, in Martin, Pa., the daughter of the late Frank Sr., and Sophie L. (Dudkiewicz) Fabrycki.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Fabrycki Jr.; and a sister, Antoinette M. Plourde on March 25, 2000.
She was manager of One Hour Martinizing, in Uniontown, until her illness.
She truly loved her work, and she was also a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband and childhood sweetheart, Holbert J. Springer Sr.; her children, Holbert J. Springer Jr., and wife, Rena of Uniontown, Pa., Holly D'Amico and husband, Matthew of Greensburg, Pa., and her baby, Jamie Kuritz and husband, Daniel of Uniontown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Alyssa and Matthew; and the following brothers and sisters, Loretta McManmon of Boise, Idaho, Theodore Fabrycki of Amston, Conn., John Fabrycki of Uniontown, Pa., Richard Fabrycki of Allison No. 2, Pa., Sylvia Burnsworth of Allison No. 2, Pa., Stanley Fabrycki of Hartford, Conn., and Walter Fabrycki of Hartford, Conn.

Leona M. Swift
Leona M. Swift, 70, of Republic, Pa., passed away Monday, May 1, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1930, in Rowes Run, Pa., a daughter of the late James and Margaret Lowther Broadwater.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl S. Swift Sr., in 1994; sisters, Geraldine Yothers and Nellie Jeffries; and brothers, James, Harry and Bill Broadwater.
Surviving are a daughter, Mildred Lippincott of Mount Holly, Pa.; sons, Earl Swift Jr., of Republic, Kenneth Swift of Quakertown, Pa., and George Swift of Los Angeles, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step great-grandsons; sisters, Betty Christner of Grindstone R.D., Ethel Cayton of Connellsville, and Mildred Grahek of New Salem.
