Evelyn J. (Meosky) Karoffa, 71, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Tuesday, May 2, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Ralph, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul and Catherine (Magda) Meosky.
Mrs. Karoffa was a member of Saint Mary's (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, was a graduate of German Township High School, Class of 1946, and was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union.
Surviving are her loving husband, Steve Karoffa, with whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage on April 24; her brother, Paul R. Meosky of Grand Island, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS Cemetery, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, May 6, 2000, until 8:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9 a.m., in St. Joseph R.C. Church. Entombment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held this evening at 8 p.m.
Julia J. Lisac
Julia J. (Constantine) Lisac, 80, of Uniontown, Pa., died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1919, in Dearth, daughter of the late Nick and Nellie Barretta Constantine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lisac Sr., in 1968; a brother, Anthony Constantine; and two sisters, Rose Ford and Jennie Cook.
Surviving are a son, George Lisac and his wife, Michele and a grandson, Ryan, all of Uniontown; three sisters, Mary Mehallic of Lorain, Ohio, Elizabeth Cicconi of Uniontown, and Catherine Tuckish and her husband, Steve of Smock; three brothers, Robert Constantine and his wife, Evelyn and William Constantine and his wife, Theresa, all of Smock, and Eugene Constantine and his wife, Marie of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church and the churches Women Scripture Study group.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, on today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at which time a Blessing Service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Therese R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth Zaccagnini V.F., as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Macrina Cemetery.
Kathalea Orlosky
Kathalea Orlosky, 80, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at 3:50 p.m., in Fairfax Nursing Center, Fairfax, Va.
She was born Sept. 29, 1919, the daughter of the late John Joseph and Missouri Martin Rembold.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Helmick; and a brother, Robert.
Kathalea was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Carmichaels.
She is survived by her second husband, Andrew R. Orlosky; the following children: Mrs. Roger (Peggy) Dick of Lititz, Pa., Mrs. Leonard (Jackie) Shoemaker of Trenton, Mich., John Helmick and wife, Pat of Payson, Ariz., Robert Orlosky and wife, Betty of Fairfax Station, Va., and William Orlosky of Aberdeen, Md.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Rembold of Lake Worth, Fla.
Friends will be received in the PAUL M. LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., Carmichaels, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Carol Sipes officiating. Interment will be in Eglon Cemetery, Kingwood, W.VA.

Elaine Rita (Svec) Yauger, 77, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in St. Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Oliver 1, Pa., daughter of the late John and Mary (Strauch) Svec.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Andrew Svec.
Elaine was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harry B. Yauger Sr.; ten children, Richard Yauger and wife, Nancy of Greenville, Pa., Harry Yauger Jr., and wife, Vicki of Saratoga, Calif., Don Yauger and wife, Cindy of Marietta, Ga., Patti Volner and husband, Bill of Titusville, Fla., Ray Yauger and wife, Regina of Roswell, Ga., Joanne Amin and husband, Ahmed of North Attleboro, Mass., Dolores Hutnick and husband, Nick of Uniontown, Pa., Karen Wymard and husband, Jeff of Radnor, Pa., Kevin Yauger and wife, Janice of Los Gatos, Calif., and Tom Yauger of Marin, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Pillar of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Malago Baca
Elizabeth Louise "Dolly" Malago Baca, 56, of Crabtree, who was born in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pa., died Thursday, October 5, 2000, as a result of complications of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
She is survived by her husband, Santo Baca; daughters: Sandra and husband Harry Murtha of Greensburg, Pa., and Michelle Baca of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughters who were named after her: Kristen Elizabeth Murtha and Rachel Louise Murtha; brothers: Albert Malago Jr. and wife, Janet, of Manor, Pa., Ron Malago of Greensburg, Pa., and Richard Malago of Canfield, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Clement L. Pantalone Funeral Home Inc., 409 West Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Pa., today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday until 9:15 a.m.
Frances Wood Bierer
Frances S. Wood Bierer, 92, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, October 6, 2000, in her residence.
She was born in Uniontown, Pa., on March 20, 1908, daughter of William S. Wood and Maude Andrews Wood.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Uniontown.
Her husband, Charles F. Bierer, died in 1964 and their son, Milton S. Bierer, died in 1973.
Also deceased are two brothers, Edgar and Kenneth, and her parents.
She is survived by three children: Mrs. David (Mary Frances) McGaughey of Farmington, Pa., Charles F. Bierer and his wife, Louise, of Euclid, Ohio, and Thomas E. Bierer of Uniontown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clyde H. Wood of Lakeside, California.
Friends will be received in the JAMES D. BARNETT FUNERAL HOME, 196 West Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 10, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Whitehead officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Charles E. "Chuck" Christner, 56, of Fitzhenry, Smithton R.D., Pa., a custodian at the Smithton Truck stops, died Thursday, October 5, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bryan Christner, children: Charles Christner Jr. of Fitzhenry, Tina Christner and her fiancé, Tawaan Baker, of Rostraver, and Tammy Christner Reys and her husband, Scott Reys, of New Stanton, Pa.; grandchildren: Heaven, Summer, and Tawaan Baker Jr.; and a sister, Betty Christner Lemley of McClellandtown, Pa.

Marianne R. Elton Crossley
Marianne R. Elton Crossley, 77, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday morning, October 6, 2000, in her home.
She was born December 6, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Edward Elton and Marian Stephenson Elton.
Marianne was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, St. Peter’s Women’s Group, the Altar Guild, and the Choir, and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Her husband, Charles V. Crossley, a brother, David Elton, and her parents preceded her in death.
Marianne is survived by three sons: Carl R. Crossley and his wife, Sandra L., of Woodbridge, Virginia, Michael E. Crossley and his wife, Beverly A., of Vienna, West Virginia, and Gregory C. "Hoss" Crossley of Uniontown, Pa.; six grandchildren: Carla R. Carey, Christina R. Kreutter, Marianne R. Crossley, Jennifer H. Crossley, Nancy L. Crossley, and David M. Crossley; a brother, John Elton of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Betsy McCoy of Pensacola, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 21, at 1 p.m. in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 60 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, with Fr. Thomas R. Finnie officiating.
