Melvin S. Bane, 78, of North Charleroi, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in Mon Valley Hospital.
He was a retired postal worker of the Charleroi Post Office.
Mr. Bane is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Ken Buchanan of North Charleroi, and Patty and Tim Bish of Charleroi; one sister, Bernice Patton of Amherst, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, and on Thursday at 11 a.m., the hour of services.
Beverly J. Barzanti
Beverly J. Barzanti, 55, of Hopwood Crossing, Hopwood, Pa., died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at 5 a.m., at her home.
She was born in Point Marion, Pa.
Surviving are her daughter, Marjorie Fenton of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; a son, Timothy Clark of Pittsburgh; and the following brothers, Fleming Clark Jr., of Zanesville, Ohio, David E. Clark of Uniontown, Adam L. Clark of Massachusetts, Hugh L. Clark of Masontown, and Joe Clark of Point Marion.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends will be received in the John S. Maykuth Jr., Funeral Home chapel, in Masontown, on Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, from 9 to 10 a.m., the hour of a service.
Shirley Jo Ann Colbert
Shirley Jo Ann (Heinbaugh) Colbert, loving wife and mother, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, August 14, 2000, in Beverly HealthCare Center.
She was born August 25, 1931, in Rockwood, Pa., the daughter of Amos B. Heinbaugh and Ostie M. Vough Heinbaugh.
Shirley attended Rockwood High School and graduated from Waynesburg High School.
She was a homemaker, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Johanna Circle, North Union V.F.W. Post 8543 Auxiliary, Uniontown American Legion Post 51 Auxiliary, AMVETS Post 88 in Greensburg, Pa., and was formerly with AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale W. Heinbaugh, sister, Althea E. Heinbaugh, and her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harold W. Colbert; her son, Kim W. Colbert and his fiancÈe, Joan Grimm, and daughter, Sarah; her daughter, Sue Ellen Martin and husband, Mark, granddaughters: Christine Bazylak and husband, Brian, and Celena Martin and Jason; one sister, Betty J. Hall and Sam; a special niece, Gayle Dillinger; great-niece, Amy; great-nephew, Greg; extended family and many dear friends.
Shirley was a caring, devoted wife, mother and sister. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Friends will be received in the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. H. Melvin Shultz officiating. The American Legion Auxiliary of Post 51 will hold services at 7 p.m. VFW Post 8543 Auxiliary will hold services at 7:30 p.m.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
Joseph P. Hospodavis
Joseph P. Hospodavis, 51, of Sterling Heights, Mich., formerly of Masontown, Pa., died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in The Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, Mich., as a result of a brain tumor.
He was employed by the U.S. Government Department of the Army, in Warren, Mich., as a Computer Specialist/Systems Analyst for over 30 years.
He was born March 17, 1949, in Masontown, Pa.
Joseph was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (St. Mary's Church of Leckrone), and a current member of St. Jane Frances DA Chantal Catholic Church, in Sterling Heights, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Hospodavis, who died on March 29, 1995.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Freda Hospodavis of Masontown, Pa.; his wife, Linda M. Hospodavis; sisters, Freda M. and Patricia A. Hospodavis of Masontown; a brother, Patrick D. Hospodavis; a sister-in-law, Marie Hospodavis of Harrisburg, Pa.; and nephews, Ryan and Nicholas Hospodavis of Harrisburg, Pa.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Rene Gupil Roman Catholic Church, in Sterling Heights, Mich., on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000. Interment will be private.
Edith Trivellini McClain
Edith Trivellini McClain of Brownsville, Pa., went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, August 13, 2000.
She was born in Cardale, Pa., the daughter of Louis Trivellini and Theresa Benucci Trivellini.
Edith operated and owned Johanna's Beauty Shop in Brownsville for 54 years and was known for her dedication and the love of her work.
She was also affiliated with a family business, Louis Floral, in Republic, Pa.
Edith was a member of The Church of The Madonna, Cardale, and The Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Edith was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Calvaresi and Lenore Porreca, and her parents.
She is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband, Harold "Toby" McClain; sister, Jennie Caputa of Republic, Pa.; nieces: Barbara Lehew and her husband, Dale, of Charleroi, Pa., and Lydia Wargo and her husband, Don, of Cardale, Pa.; great-niece, Dana LaCarte and her husband, David, of Belle Vernon, Pa.; and great-nephew, David Lehew of Charleroi, Pa.
Edith is also survived by the following sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Betty McClain Racan of Jeannette, Pa., Mary Jane McClain Beal and husband, Tom, of Republic, Pa., Sally McClain Gwaltney and husband, Joe, of Augusta, Georgia, Ralph "Big Boy" McClain and wife, Nona, of San Diego, California, Jacqueline McClain Johnson of Brownsville, Pa., James McClain and wife, Laura, of Finleyville, Pa., Patricia McClain Davis and husband, Andrew "Curly", of East Millsboro, Pa., Gene McClain and wife, Mary, of Allison, Pa., and Donna McClain Terrace and husband, Sonny, of Merrittstown, Pa.
Friends will be received at the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at noon, in The Church of The Madonna, Cardale, with the Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Rutkowski as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
Margaret K. Mollica
Margaret K. (Molley) Mollica, 90, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, August 15, 2000.
She was born Oct. 1, 1909, in Lamberton, Pa., the daughter of the late Stephen Rulli and Carmella Delsardo Rulli.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest A. (Molley) Mollica on Dec. 6, 1962; three brothers, Angelo, John and Anthony Rulli; and two sisters, Lucy and Mary. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her beloved children: a son, Joseph Mollica Jr. and his wife, Regina of Uniontown, two daughters, Andriana Bartok of Euclid, Ohio, and her late husband, William and Carmella, with whom she shared her home; four grandchildren, William Bartok and his wife, Mary Ann, Michael Bartok and his wife, Kathleen, Regina Laurita and her husband, Roland, and Joseph Mollica and his wife, Lisa; four great-grandchildren, Amanda Bartok, Mario Laurita and Gino and Gianna Mollica; a sister-in-law, Ann Roll; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux R.C. Church, and the Altar Society.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, on Thursday from noon to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, until 9:30 a.m., at which time a prayer service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., in St. Therese R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth Zacchgnini V.F., as celebrant. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Bertha E. Phillips
Bertha E. Phillips, 87, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1913, in Mt. Braddock, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Anna Bereksase.
Mrs. Phillips was a volunteer at Uniontown Senior Citizens, and she was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene Harper and her husband, Charles of Greensburg, and Barbara Wovas of Timonium, Md.; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Isabella Firkley of Ambridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Ruse; and two sisters, Mary Lafko and Helen Logan.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Dickerson Run Union Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m., today, in the funeral home.
Russell A. Romesburg
Russell A. Romesburg, 84, of Connellsville, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at home.
Prior to retirement, Russell was employed by the B&O Railroad for 35 years as an engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Jaynes) Romesburg of Connellsville; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Brooks and husband, Ronald of Connellsville; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and a sister, Verna Honsaker and husband, Max of Myersdale, Pa.
Friends will be received on Thursday from noon to 4 and 5 to 9 p.m., in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home Inc., 418 North Pittsburgh St. Connellsville, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at a time to be announced.
