Lilly P. (Cunningham) Smiley, 87, of Fairchance, Pa., died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at home.
She was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Fairchance, Pa., daughter of the late Ross and Sarah Kissinger Cunningham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Finley (Bud) Smiley on May 26, 1987; a son, Danny Smiley in 1946; and four brothers, William, James, Charles and Edward Cunningham.
Surviving are two children, Jack D. Smiley and his wife, Connie of Monaca, Pa., and Lora Beth DiDominic of Fairchance, Pa.; two grandsons, Shawn Smiley and his wife, Alma of Aliquippa, Pa., and Brett F. DiDominic of Fairchance, Pa.; a great-granddaughter, Nicole Smiley of Aliquippa, Pa.; two sisters, Mabel Bowers of Fairchance, Pa., and Grace Smiley of Nokesville, Va.; two brothers, Milton Cunningham of Fairchance, Pa., and Ralph Cunningham of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smiley was a member of the Fairchance Church of the Brethren.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church St., Fairchance, Pa., on Friday, July 7, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, July 8, 2000, until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Harrison Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
George Tretinik
George Tretinik, 86, of Willowick, Ohio, a former resident of Wickliffe, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, in Willoughby Lake Hospital West.
He was born in Leisenring, Pa., on May 9, 1914, the late Michael Tretinik and Julia Zelinisky Tretinik.
He was employed by White Motors, in Cleveland, Ohio, for 26 years, retiring in 1976.
George was the founding member of both St. Stephens and St. Andrews Byzantine Catholic churches, a Cantor for 50 years, a member of St. Stephens Holy Name Society, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1933-34, and a former member of Euclid Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline (Bakos) Tretinik; a son, Daniel George (Nancy) Tretinik of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Marianne (Anthony) Erdelyi-Valentino of Rocky River, Ohio; four grandchildren; and dearest brother of Stephen Tretinik of Wickliffe, Paul Tretinik of Uniontown, Pa., William Tretinik of St. Louis, Mo., Ann Fani of Uniontown, Pa., and Helen Miller of California.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers, John and William Tretinik; and sisters, Marie Whitehead and Julia Kealoha.
Friends will be received in the ORLANDO-DONSANTE FUNERAL HOME, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, Ohio, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa., on Friday at 5 p.m. A Parastas Service will be held today in the funeral home.
Elsie E. Wagner
Elsie E. (Clevenger) Wagner, 88, of Markleysburg, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born Jan 25, 1912, in Casselman, Pa., the daughter of the late Fritz and Laura Belle (Shultz) Clevenger.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Herbert Wagner on July 5, 1967; and one son, Bruce Herbert Wagner in 1990. She was a member of the Markleysburg Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
Surviving are one son, Thomas E. Wagner and his wife, Carmela of Silver Springs, Md.; one daughter, Patricia Jane Lose and her husband, Bill of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the RODNEY S. TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 254 Main St., Markleysburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of service.
Charles A. Ansell
Charles A. Ansell, 88, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Thursday, July 6, 2000, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Betty Rapson Ansell; two sons, Kenneth and C. Ray Ansell, both of Uniontown; four grandchildren, Lisa, Christopher, Raymond and Barbara Ansell; a brother, James Ansell of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and two sisters, Edna Ansell of Uniontown, and Helen Craig of Baltimore, Md.

Rev. Fr. Benjamin Babula
Rev. Fr. Benjamin Babula, 57, administrator of Holy Trinity Parish, and a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville.
He was born March 1, 1943, in New Rochelle, N.Y., a son of the late Joseph L. and Patricia (Davis) Babula.
Father Babula grew up in Indiana, and attended Indiana High School, St. Pius X College, Erlanger, Ky., and Saint Francis Seminary, Loretto. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 3, 1975, at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, by the late Bishop William G. Connare. His first assignment was as parochial vicar at St. Joseph Parish, New Kensington. He later served parochial vicarships at Holy Family Parish, Seward (1976-84), and St. Mary Parish, Uniontown, (1984-85) before being name administrator of the former St. Elizabeth Parish, Starford, in 1985. He received his first pastorate there in July, 1986. He had served as administrator with pastoral care at Holy Trinity Parish, since December, 1995.
He is survived by two brothers, Joseph Babula and wife, Marion of Marion, Pa., and Edward Babula and wife, Gina of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Rose Crombell of Wilkes-Barre, and Barbara Racan and husband, Richard of West Chester, Pa.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, July 9, from 2 to 9 p.m., in Holy Trinity R.C. Church, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m., with the Rev. John R. Cindric V.F., presiding, and the Rev. John Butler as Homilist. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 10, at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Church, with the Most Rev. Anthony G. Bosco, Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg, as the main celebrant and Homilist. Interment will follow in the Cemetery of the Church of the Resurrection at Starford, Pa. Susan Ann (Machinia) Bilek, 79, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in Hillside Manor.
She was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Shoaf, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Anna (Mehalich) Machinia-Jerome.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance Bilek; and the following brothers and sisters, Mary Machinia, Ann (Machinia) Padlo, Martha (Machinia) Campbell, Joseph Machinia, Amadee Jerome and John Machinia.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Bilek; four children, Charlotte M. Freed and husband, Paul of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Michael J. Bilek and wife, Frannie of Waldorf, Md., Joyce L. Stiner and husband, Ernie of Uniontown, Pa., and Edward A. Bilek and wife, Christine of Uniontown, Pa.; five grandchildren, Gregory Freed of Atlanta, Ga., Erica, Bruce and Tiffany Bilek of Maryland, and Natalie S. Stiner of Uniontown, Pa.; brothers, Steve Machinia of Uniontown, Pa., Fred Jerome of Cleveland, Ohio, and Augustine Jerome of Fairchance, Pa.; and sister, Louise (Jerome) Seiaman of Ronco, Pa.

Jean E. Bright
Jean E. Bright, 76, of Hancock Road, Brownsville, Pa., (Centerville Boro), died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at 1:45 a.m., in her home.
She was born Nov. 1, 1923, in Grindstone, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Mitchell Strosnider.
She was a member of the Blainesburg Bible Church, a graduate of Brownsville High School, and an employee of the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Md., for 27 years.
Surviving are her husband, Harvey W. Bright of Brownsville; four grandsons, Christopher Roseman and Clarence Talbert, Michael Talbert and Arthur Talbert; two granddaughters, Lynn Bastian and Joanne Jordan; two sisters, Lily Coughenour Esra of Carmichaels, and Nellie Cassel of Dickerson Run, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Judith Ann Cantrell, who died in 1989, Faith Adair Roseman, who died in 1989, and Linda Kiehl, who died in 1994; and three sisters, Daisy Shemo, Ellie Keeny and Naomi Kennedy;
