Frank J. Kurek
Frank J. Kurek, 82, of Brownfield, Pa., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at his home.
He was born November 25, 1916, in Chicago, Illinois, son of Frank Kurek and Elizabeth Mingo Kurek.
Frank was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church and retired from Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
He was a veteran of World War II, and held membership in Hutchinson Sportsman's Club.
Two sisters, one brother, and his parents are deceased.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Krizner Kurek; three children: Patricia Dunn and her husband, John, of New Salem, Pa., Carol Davis and her husband, William, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Leonard Kurek and his wife, Joy Lynn, of Hutchinson, Uniontown R.D., Pa.; four grandchildren: Sean Davis of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jason Kurek, Brian Kurek, and Courtney Kurek all of Uniontown; and two sisters: Clara Noel of Green Bay, Wis., and Rita Winnicki of Chicago, Ill.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today, April 23, until 10:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Brownfield, where Military Honors will be accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
Visitation was also held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Prayer Service was held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
Farmington
Estella C. Lenhart
Estella Chambers Lenhart, 87, of Farmington, Pa., passed away Thursday, April 22, 1999, in Bouras Personal Care Home, Farmington.
She was born June 10, 1911, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of William Allen Chambers and Bertha Elizabeth Freiberg Chambers.
Mrs. Lenhart was an avid bowler and member of the Bridge Club.
She was a retired telephone operator from Michigan Consolidated Gas Company.
Her husband, Thomas Lenhart Sr., a son, Thomas Lenhart Jr., five brothers, Alva, Ralph, Phillip, Arthur, and William Chambers, three sisters, Laura Retkofsky, Edythe Wilson, and Norena Mitchell, and her parents are deceased.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Henrietta Barclay of Farmington.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 24, until 11 a.m., the hour of service with the Rev. Peter Keith officiating.
Interment will follow in Jersey Cemetery, Confluence, Pa.

Byron Luce
Byron "Wayne" Luce, 63, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at 4:30 p.m. in his home.
He was born April 29, 1935, in Star Junction, Pa., son of Nelle D. Myers Luce of Perryopolis and the last Emerson R. Luce.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Nancy Rectanus Luce; two daughters: Kathleen Buretz of Perryopolis and Mrs. Robert (Susan) Withers of Monongahela, Pa.; two grandchildren: Jennifer Buretz and Greg Buretz both at home; two brothers and one sister, Mherling "Irv" Luce and his wife, Dotty, of Oak Harbor, Washington, Konrad Luce and his wife, Ethel, of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Mrs. Judith Pawloski of Belle Vernon; his mother-in-law, Dolores Rectanus of Perryopolis; and many friends.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence St., Perryopolis, Pa., on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, April 26, until 2 p.m., the hour of service.
Interment will follow in Mount Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis.

Kenzie Nichole Metzger
Kenzie Nichole Metzger of Connellsville, Pa., went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 20, 1999.
She was born April 20, 1999, in Uniontown Hospital, the daughter of Jason Metzger and Melanie Nutter Metzger of Connellsville.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her maternal great-grandparents, the Rev. Stephen Nutter and Mary Nutter of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Sadie Hall of Connellsville, Pa.; maternal grandparents, Paul and Judy Nutter, maternal aunt and uncle, Heather and Jason Nutter, and their son, Dustin Metzger, paternal great-grandparents, Clyde and Pearl Metzger and Marie Mitchell, paternal grandparents, Kenneth Ray Metzger and Sue Butella, and paternal uncles, Jeff Metzger and Justin Metzger, all of Connellsville.
The family will receive friends in The Church of God, Route 51, Uniontown, Pa., on Saturday, April 24, from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Elliott Leighty will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar, Pa.

Beverly W. Murray
Beverly J. Wallace Murray, 64, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in her residence.
She was born January 10, 1935, in Dearth, Pa., daughter of James "Bud" Wallace and Veronica Dutko Wallace.
She was a member of First Christian Church in New Salem and retired employee from the Michael Berkowitz Company.
A son, Russell C. Murray, and her parents are deceased.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James D. Murray Sr.; four sons: James D. Murray Jr. of Miller Farm, Robert Murray Sr. of Newboro, Pa., Gary L. Murray of Hopwood, and Larry R. Murray of Searights Crossroads; seven grandchildren: Michele, Melissa, Monica, James D. III, Robert R. Jr., Carly, and Kelly; brothers and sisters: Donald Wallace of Hopwood, James Wallace of Madison, Ohio, Nancy Ripley of Marlboro, N.Y., Patricia Buckler of Charlotte Hall, Md., Frances May of Walden, N.Y., Mary Hunt of White Plains, Md., and John Wallace of Searights Crossroads; 11 nieces and nine nephews.
Friends will received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 24, until 11:00 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Andy Miles and Rufus Peer, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Visitation was also held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Geneveve Rich
Geneveve Rich, 78, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in Manor Care Nursing Center, North Hills.
She was born October 13, 1920, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late Clement Rich and Rose Barbar Rich.
Miss Rich was a Lithographer for Geyer Printing Company for many years before retirement.
She was a member of Graphic Communications International Union Local 24.
Surviving are two brothers: Dominick Rich and Jerry Rich and his wife, Dorris, all of Uniontown; three sisters: Sister Mary Rose Clement Rich of Philadelphia, Pa., Julia Ortmann and her husband, Charles, of Uniontown, and Annette Rich of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, Pa., today from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 24, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Blessing Service will then be held with Rev. Fr. Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F., officiating.
Entombment will follow.

Lovina Willis Riley
Lovina Willis Riley, 82, of Oakland, Md., died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home, Grantsville, Md.
She was born March 29, 1917, daughter of Ezra Myers and Eva Ryder Myers.
Her husband, Lawrence Riley, several brothers and sisters and her parents are deceased.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Guthrie of Masontown, Pa.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Trudy Manzella of Florida.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., on Saturday, April 24, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 1 p.m. The Rev. John Cordes will officiate.
Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Geneva, Pa.

Marie A. Stevenson
Marie A. Deiderich Stevenson, 101, of Newell, Pa., died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born February 19, 1898, in Roscoe, Pa., daughter of Fred Deiderich and Anna Schrek Deiderich.
She was a member of Newell United Methodist Church, California (Pa.) Order of the Eastern Star, and Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 1606.
Her son, Richard D. Stevenson, died February 7, 1998. Also deceased are her husband, Richard Stevenson, and her parents.
She is survived by one grandson, Dr. Richard D. Stevenson and his wife, Diana, of Fayette City R.D., Pa.; one granddaughter, Cynthia and her husband, Robert Wilson, of Newell, Pa.; and four great-grandchildren: Kristopher Wilson, Stephanie Wilson, Carrie Stevenson, and Ricki Stevenson.
Friends will be received in the ELEY/McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 24, until 10 a.m., the hour of services in the Funeral Home with the Rev. Audrey Baldwin officiating.
