Mary McKee, 90 of Connellsville, died Monday, September 23, 2002 at her home.
She was born Dec. 10,1911 in Royal,PA. a daughter of the late Vito and Rosella Harbarger Capanna.
Prior to her retirement in 1974, she worked in the Dietary Department at the former,Connellsville State General Hospital. Mary was a member of the Vanderbilt Church of Christ.She was a former member of the Connellsville Senior Tigers and the Sons of Italy Ladies Lodge.
Mary is survived by a son Earl T. "Butch" McKee and his wife Barbara of Connellsville,5 daughters Patricia McManus and her husband Ronald of Lexington VA., Ruth Ann Pasulka of Connellsville,Donna Earnesty and her husband Charles of Dickerson Run, Norma Lukaesko and her husband Joseph of Smock,and Linda Vesely and her husband Jack of New Philidelphia OH., 15 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Earl McKee in 1968, a son Dayne McKee, and infant daughter Betty McKee, a sister Louise O'Laughlin, and a brother Tony Capanna.
Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc. 111 E. Green St. Connellsville Wed. from 7-9 PM and Thur. from 1-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held Fri. at 11:00 AM,in the funeral home, with Pastor Rich Schimansky officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Mt.Washington Cemetery,Perryopolis. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be given to the Vanderbilt Church of Christ,Walnut and Center, Vanderbilt PA. 15486, in memory of Mary McKee.

Master Sgt. Andrew Albert Peperak, U.S. Army Ret., 74, of Connellsville, went to his eternal rest Sunday, November 23, 2003, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born August 13,1929 in New Salem a son of the late Andrew and Anna Kraynak Peperak.
Andrew was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1947. He was a Veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and also served at the
Supreme Headquarters for NATO in France for 4 years. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1972 after proudly serving his country for 24 years. Andrew had also retired in 1995 from the U.S. Postal Service where he had worked as a Clerk in the Uniontown post office. He was a member of the Connellsville VFW #21, the Connellsville American Legion, F.O. Eagles#493, the B.P.O. Elks#503 and the Independent Slovak Club. Andrew was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville. Andrew was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother to his family. Andrew's life was full of his love for his devoted, large family, his love of his Catholic Church, and the simple pleasures of daily living. His favorite things were watching and waiting for the snow, watching his beautiful garden grow, and watching and enjoying his beloved family. Andrew was a proud devoted Veteran who in his daily living displayed his loyal patriotism of his great nation.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Jean Ann Layman Peperak, whom he married May 1,1952, his loving children Rita J. Peters and her husband Stephen of Uniontown, Barbara A. Wilbur and her husband Paul of Connellsville, Patricia A. Peperak of Connellsville, Charles A. Peperak and his wife Susan of Connellsville, Lynda M. Sparks and her husband Thomas of Indian Head, Arleen J. O'Donnell and her husband Steven of Connellsville, Darleen J. Durham and her husband James of Camp Hill., Donald R. Peperak and his wife Kristi of Connellsville, Stephen P. Peperak and his wife Desiree of Boonsboro MD., Daniel L. Peperak and his wife Kristin of Pittsburgh, and Cynthia D. Peperak of Pittsburgh, his loving grandchildren Edwin Peters, Bonnie Peperak, Katie and Rachel Wilbur, Jennifer, Lindsay, Brittany, and Steven O'Donnell, Charles, Alex, and Luke Peperak, Elizabeth and Andrew Sparks, Austin, Danielle and Zachary Durham, James and Justin Peperak, and Mackenzie and Baylee Peperak, 2 sisters Margaret Kieta of Vanderbilt and Elizabeth Bartholomai of South Connellsville.
In addition to his parents Andrew was predeceased by a granddaughter Gabrielle Ann Peperak, a brother John Peperak, and 4 sisters Anna Marhulik, Catherine Hustek, Helen Franks, and Julia Baker.
Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc. 111 E. Green St. Connellsville. Tue. 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Blessing Service will be held Wed. at 9:30 AM, in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, in St. John the Evangelist R. C. Church, Connellsville, with Rev. John Butler as celebrant. A committal service and interment will follow in the St. John's Cemetery Brookvale. Military Rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Connellsville VFW and American Legion and Trotter American Legion Honor Guard. A Parish Wake Service will be held Tue. at 3:00 PM in the funeral home. The B.P.O. Elks #503 will conduct a service Tue. at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Maxine Rae Craig,65, of Ruffsdale died Thursday November 27, 2003 at her home. She was born January 28, 1938 in Mount Pleasant a daughter of the late Charles, Sr. and Mable Smith Summy. Mrs. Craig was a graduate of the former Hurst High School, Class of 1955. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Church of God and she attended the New Stanton Alliance Church. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by an infant sister, June Elizabeth Summy. She is survived by her husband Merle Glenn Craig; one daughter, Elizabeth Rae Erwin and her husband Paul David Erwin of Warren, Pa. ; one granddaughter, Heather Marie Erwin; five brothers, Charles Summy, Jr. and his wife Helen of Mount Pleasant, Edward Summy and his wife Jane of Connellsville, Wendell Summy and his wife Eva of Mount Pleasant, Homer Summy and his wife Shelly of Aliquippa and William Summy and his wife Cathy of Atwater, Ohio and her twin sister, Marlene Silk of Mount Pleasant. Funeral services and interment were private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in memory of Maxine Rae Craig. Melva J. Hendricks, 80 of Mt.Pleasant, (Bullskin Twp.) died Sun. May 9, 2004 in the Fencil's Personal Care Home, Connellsville.
She was born July 28,1923, in Weltytown, Westmoreland County, a daughter of the late Ira Casper and Gertrude E. Little Honse.
Melva had been a resident of Bullskin Twp. since 1966. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Scottdale and a former member of the Iron Bridge Ladies Club. Melva was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister to her family. She especially loved and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Melva is survived by her loving son Ronald C. Hendricks and his wife Nora of Mt. Pleasant (Bullskin Twp.), her grandchildren Ronald C. Hendricks Jr. and his wife Kathy and Jennifer Woods and her husband Bryan all of Bullskin Twp., her great grandchildren Lucas Aaron, Lindsay, and Elizabeth Hendricks, and Brianna and Jacob Woods, and her sisters Lorraine Clair and Jean Stairs both of Latrobe.
In addition to her parents Melva was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Hendricks in 1991, a son Aaron B. Hendricks, 2 brothers Carl and Charles W. Honse Sr., and 2 sisters Shirley Rivera and Fern Roble.

MILDRED E. BUNGARD, 81, of Mt. Pleasant RD 4, died Friday, July 18, 2003 in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born March 6, 1922 in Donegal a daughter of the late Elmer Showman and Effie Naomi Neiderhiser.
Mildred was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a member of The Hecla Community Church.
Mildred is survived by her children: George Bungard, Jr. and wife Janet of Natrona Heights; Ruth A. Povlik and husband Zigmont; Marie E. Marsette and husband William; Donald E. Bungard; and Ronald E. Bungard and wife Trina all of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte I. Sidehammer of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Bungard in 1992; a sister, Naomi Neiderhiser; four brothers; Eugene, Carl, Raymond and Jay Neiderhiser; and two grandchildren, Nathan J. Marsette in 1978 and Ronald E. Povlik in 2002.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in THE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant. Mindi S. Trout, 27, of Scottdale died Thursday May 13, 2004 in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. She was born October 14, 1976 in Mount Pleasant a daughter of James S. and Linda Dull Martin of Juniata. Mindi was a 1995 graduate of Uniontown High School and she was a member of the Juniata United Methodist Church. Mindi was a wonderful and devoted mother to her family. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Richard L Trout; her children Braleigh, Kyle and Kayden, all at home; three siblings, Jennie Golden and her husband Troy of Dunbar, Erik Martin and his wife Misty of Trotter and Chad Martin and his wife Ivy of Scottdale; her paternal grandfather, Andrew J. Nelva M. Etling, 90, of Connellsville, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 02, 2002. She was born April 07, 1912, in S. Connellsville, the daughter of the late Jacob D. and Lucille Dahl Sanner. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and treasured her grandchildren. She was a life long resident of the Connellsville area. She did volunteer work for the Connellsville State General Hospital in their snack bar and was a member of the hospital auxillary. She was a member of the Bullskin Twp. Seniors, The Order of Eastern Star # 247 of Connellsville and over a fifty year member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church of Connellsville. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George W. Etling they were married on September 06, 1937; a daughter, Nelva (Tootie) Hasson, of Republic, PA; three sons, Charles G. Etling, and his wife, Karen, of Connellsville, James A. Etling, and his wife, Gari, of Bountiful, Utah, and Leslie G. Etling, and his wife, Mary, of Connellsville; 12 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchildren survive as well as several step-great grandchildren; a sister, M. (Deanie) Borden, of Claremont, FL. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Leslie Sanner, Weldon (Bob) Sanner, and Jess (Bud) Sanner; two half-brothers, James Tressler, and Roy Tressler; and a half-sister, Goldie. She was born May 4, 1946 in Scottdale a daughter of Dominic J. Marinucci of Scottdale the late Mary Roadman Lipari.
Nicky was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary of Scottdale and a volunteer for the Scottdale Salvation Army. She was also a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Scottdale.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Dominic J. and Allowine Marrinucci of Scottdale and several other family members and friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Victor E. Marinucci.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, June 1 at 7 pm in the First Assembly of God Church, Scottdale with Pastor Frank Lewis officiating. Olive G. "Dolly" Junk, 92 of Uniontown, formerly of Connellsville, died Thur. Nov. 13,2003 in the LaFayette Manor Uniontown.
She was born March 22,1911 in Bullskin Twp. a daughter of the late James W. and Viola Niswonger Prinkey Sr.
Dolly was a graduate of Connellsville High School. Prior to her retirement she worked as a Department Head for the former Troutman's Department Store in Connellsville. She also had worked for the former G.C. Murphy's Co. Dolly had been a resident of the Connellsville Towers and the Riverview Apartments in Connellsville. She was a former member and Past President of the Riverview Tenants Association. She was also a Retired Senior Volunteer Person, a member of the Connellsville Hospital Ladies Aux., and the YMCA Federation Fellowship Association. Dolly was a member of the First Baptist Church in Connellsville where she served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher and was a member of it's American Baptist Women and the Alturian Sunday School Class.
Dolly is survived by her loving family, a son Clark Junk and his wife Connie of Smock and a daughter Edna Ruth Schriver and her husband Thomas of Springfield MO., 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 brothers James W. Prinkey Jr. of FL., and Ralph E. Prinkey and his wife Gerri of South Connellsville,4 sisters Edna and Beatrice Prinkey both of Greensburg, Sarah Luczak and her husband Val of Kalamazoo MI.,and Jessie Crowell of Scottdale.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband James Chauncey Junk in 1968, a brother Joseph James Prinkey, and 3 sisters Mary Robertson, Lily Weyant, and Pauline Lane.

Olive J. Thomas, 85, of Mount Pleasant ( East Huntingdon Twp.) died Friday October 3, 2003 in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 10, 1918 in Hammondville a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Nedrow Christner. Mrs. Thomas was graduate of the former Ramsay High School, Class of 1936. She was employed at the Boot Shop in Scottdale, Grant Store and McCrorys 5&10 Store in Mount Pleasant, for many years. She was a dedicated volunteer throughout her life helping those in need in the community. She was an active and lifelong member of the Fairview Community Church and the Willing Workers Ladies Class. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by five brothers, Earl,Raymond,Dwight, Elvy and Ralph Christner and five sisters, infants, Meryl and Violent Christner, Dortha Yothers, Marie Ramsey and Edna Snyder. She is survived by one daughter, Lenora Czerniak and her husband John of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren, Timothy Czerniak and his wife Karen and Joyce Jones and her husband Ed; five great grandchildren, Adam and Sean Czerniak and Heather Melville and her husband Jim, Seth and Chaz Jones; and one sister, Nora Belle Hare and her husband James of Beaver, Pa. Pastor David P."Hap" Huey, 84 of Normalville, (Millertown) died Mon. June 2,2003 in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital,Greensburg.
He was born Oct. 1,1918 in Trees Mills PA., a son of the late David P. and Ethel Martz Huey Sr.
Hap was a Veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He was a graduate of the Westminister Bible College in Greensburg. He was active as a minister for the Church of God, Western Pennsylvania Conference. He then became the Pastor of the Millertown Community Church and retired from there after 28 years of service. He since has been the guest speaker at various churches throughout the Indian Creek Valley. Hap was a member of the Millertown Community Church. He was an avid golfer and hunter and was a member of the Normalville Rod and Gun Club.
Hap is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Wissinger Huey, with whom he would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 22,2003, 3 sons Richard L. Huey of Farmington Hills MI., Kenneth P. Huey and his wife Robin of Jacksonville FL., and Robert D. Huey and his wife Barbara Jean of Indian Head, 4 grandchildren Jada Ranee, Shane, Eric, and David Huey, and 5 great grandchildren Amanda Huey, Kody Snyder, Alexandra, Johnathon, and Samantha Huey, and a brother George Huey and his wife Grace of Stuart FL.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son David Charles Huey, 2 sisters Mary Miller and Harriet Czerpaka, and 3 brothers William, Edgar, and Francis Huey.

Paul E. Truxel, Jr., 71, of Mount Pleasant ( Bullskin Twp.) died Saturday November 29, 2003 in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was born July 3, 1932 in Mount Pleasant a son of the late Paul E., Sr. and Emily Mullin Truxel. Paul was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School, Class of 1950 and the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1958. He was a retired insurance agent for the Prudential Insurance Co. where he was employed for 25 years. He was the current owner and operator of Miedel's Restaurant in Poplar Grove. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member and past Worshipful Master of King Solomon’s Lodge #346 F&AM and the Consistory of Uniontown. He was a member and past president of the Bullskin Twp. Lions Club where he also served as District Governor of District 14M. He was also a member of the Eye Research Committee and the Pennsylvania Lions Foundation and he was also a Melvin Jones Recipient. Paul was also a member of the BPO Elks #503 of Connellsville and the Bullskin Historical Society where he served as past president and was the current treasurer. He was a member of the Paradise United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his stepmother, Catherine Schilling Freed Truxel and a sister-in-law, Diane Freed. He is survived by his wife, Lois E. Eicher Truxel; four children, Paul E. " Sam" Truxel III and his wife Trudy of Mount Pleasant R.D. #5, Emilianne B. Durst and her husband Ken of Mount Pleasant, Timothy Lee Truxel and his wife Lisa of Phoenix, N.Y. and Malinda Angel and her husband Kevin of Connellsville; nine grandchildren, Katrina Angel, Renee Durst, Samantha Truxel, Jeffrey Durst, Danielle Truxel, Alyssa Truxel, Kensey Durst and Nathan and Nicholas Truxel; one sister, Patricia E. Tinker and her husband Alex of Connellsville and four brothers, John B. Truxel of Connellsville, Philip M. Truxel of Harvey Cedars, N.J., Richard W. Truxel and his wife Linda W. of Hidden Valley and William Freed of Foley, Ala and a sister-in-law, Joni Truxel of Connellsville. Friends will be received from 2-9 P.M. Monday and Tuesday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Doug Burns officiating. Paul W. "Buck" Spaugy, 64 of Connellsville, died unexpectedly, Mon. Aug. 4,2003 at his home.
He was born June 29,1939 in Wooddale, a son of Catherine Miller Spaugy of Connellsville and the late Paul A. Spaugy.
Buck was a life long resident of the Connellsville Area and worked as a grower for the Grasso Green House in East Connellsville for many years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by 2 sisters Caroline Smith of Connellsville and Cathy Goucher of Maryland and 2 brothers Harold Spaugy of Wooddale and Robert Spaugy of Connellsville, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc. 111 E. Green St. Connellsville, Wed. from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held Thur. at 11:00 AM, in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Byron Tate Fulton officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Pauline E. Henry, 80 of Scottdale, formerly of Connellsville, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 in Scottdale Manor Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 24,1923 in Point Marion a daughter of the late Jess and Edna Mae Clark Blaney.
Pauline was a longtime resident of Connellsville. Prior to her retirement she worked as a Packer for the Anchor Hocking Glass Plant in South Connellsville. She was a member of the Connellsville Church of the Brethren.
Pauline is survived by her loving children, Alex R. Blaney and his wife Edythe, John Edward Henry and his wife Mary Ann, and Debra Mulroy and her husband Randy all of Connellsville, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a brother Arley O. "Joe" Blaney and his wife Mary Ellen of Point Marion.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John E. Henry in 1976, a son William Ronald Henry, a grandson and a great grandson, a sister Pearl Atkins, and 8 brothers Ralph, Merle, Carl, Warren, Howard, Elmer, Paul, and Clyde.
