Pauline L. Ritenour, 89, of Greencastle, Pa. died Sunday April 23, 2006 at her home. She was born July 18, 1916 in Connellsville a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Longanecker., who lived on R.D. #2 Connellsville. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1934. She worked at the former G.C. Murphy Store and at Anchor Hocking in South Connellsville. She moved to Greencastle, Pa. in 1964. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle, the AARP and the Greencastle Senior Citizens Center. In 1943 she married Fred A. Ritenour of Poplar Grove who died in 1995. She is survived by one son, Jimmy A. Ritenour of Gray, Tennessee; one grandson, Michael Ritenour and his wife Annetta of Bradenton, Fla.; two great grandchildren, Matthew Ritenour and Brittany Bargan. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a sister, Blanche Miner and a half sister, Grace Ohl. Friends will be received from 6-9 P.M. Thursday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville. Interment will be private.

Pearl L. Petrone, 78, of Connellsville died Sunday April 30, 2006 in the Harmon House, Mount Pleasant. She was born March 4, 1928 in Broadford a daughter of the late George Washington and Bertha Sandusky Miller. Mrs. Petrone had worked at the former Connellsville Sportswear for several years. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Provance Kingan of Connellsville; one granddaughter, Destiny Kingan; two sisters, Elizabeth Ross and her husband Rocco of Connellsville and Bertha King of Florida. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Edward Petrone in 2004; six brothers, Israel,Robert,Edward,William,Donald and Bernard Miller and two sisters, Henrietta Sok and Esther Morgan. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Wednesday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St.,, Connellsville where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday with Rev. Elmer Reamer officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Pola C. Walters, 84 of Latrobe died Saturday April 29, 2006 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe. She was born January 6, 1922 in Brenizer a daughter of the late John and Mary Belenski. She was a graduate of Blairsville High School and she worked as a registered nurse at Torrance State Hospital for 24 1/2 years. She is survived by two sons, Peter Walters of Latrobe and Thomas J. Walters and his wife Debra of Debary, Fla.; two granddaughters, Alissa Walters of Debary, Fla. and Ashleigh N. Walters of Latrobe. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Kathleen E. Walters and two sisters, Francis Belenski of Detroit, Mich. and Mildred of Davenport, Iowa. Friends will be received from 7-9 P.M. Tuesday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St.., Connellsville where services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Marvin C. Ralph Gadis Clark, 72, of Connellsville died Friday November 15, 2002 at his home. He was born January 21, 1930 in the village of Wheeler, where he resided his whole life, the son of the late Charles and Florence Watson Clark. Mr. Clark was employed, until his retirement in 1983, by the Bradley Paint Corporation of Connellsville. He attended the Connellsville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and he was a member of the Connellsville VFW and the Morrell VFD. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed his family. He is survived by his loving wife Doris Bates Clark; three daughters, Linda I. Watson and her husband Tom of Belington, West Virginia, Cynthia L. Vetos and her husband Sam of Kemmerer, Wyoming and Rebecca R. Riley and her husband Jamie of Uniontown. seven grandchildren, Laura M. Hanifan, Thomas J. Watson, Jr., Mary Beth Cox, Andrew J. Vetos, Jason M. Riley, Alex D. Vetos and Jonathan P. Riley; six great grandchildren, Melanie R. Hanifan, Emaline N. Hanifan, Thomas M. Watson, Justin C. Cox, Kimberly D. Cox and Deven A. Watson; two sisters, Kathleen L. Rowe and her husband John of Connellsville and Eleanor L. Homer of Wheeler; his mother-in-law, Lora M. Peterson Bates, who resided with him and he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one sister, Christine "Sis" Piern and four brothers, David, John R., Dal and Wade Clark. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green Street, Connellsville where services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. James Turnbull officiating. Raphael "Ray" Rendine, 78, of South Connellsville died Thursday August 7, 2003 in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was born January 6, 1925 in Connellsville a son of the late Rosario Vincent "Jim" and Amelia Dittman Rendine. Mr. Rendine was a graduate of the former Immaculate Conception High School, Class of 1942. He later attended St. Vincent College Business School. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army as a PFC in the Army Anti-aircraft unit. He served in England, France, Germany and Austria and participated in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. He was honored by receiving three Bronze Stars and he also served during the Nuremberg Tribunals following the war. Ray worked as a journeyman Tool and Die maker at the Anchor Hocking Cap Plant and served as the inspector of all tools during his employment of 37 1/2 years. He was a member of the Connellsville VFW and American Legion, the AARP, South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club and he was a life member of the BPO Elks # 503 of Connellsville. He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia A. Beal Rendine; four children; Mrs. David( Judith Rae) Pavelosky of Connellsville, Dennis James Rendine of South Connellsville, Dianna Lynn Nicholson and her husband Kevin D. of South Connellsville and Rebecca Jane Ambrisco and her husband James of Connellsville; two granddaughters, Leeann M. and Jenna L. Nicholson. He was the last surviving member of this immediate family. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Sylvester"Doc", Lawrence, Francis, Regis and Clarence Rendine; and his sisters, Delores Love and infant sister, Rita. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Sunday and Monday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville where a Blessing Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church Connellsville with Rev. Terry Hercik as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted at the graveside by the American Legion and VFW Honor Guard. The BPO Elks #503 of Connellsville will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. Monday . A Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Monday, both in the funeral home.

Reid Pendleton, Sr., 100 years old on September 15, 2002, died Friday, September 20, 2002, in Turlock, CA where he had been living. His life expanded a remarkable period of time, extending from before mankind's first powered flight to seeing men walk on the moon, the fall of the Berlin Wall and beyond. Mr. Pendleton was born September 15, 1902, in Connellsville, where he was a resident for most of his life. He moved to California to live with his children following the death of his beloved wife. He attended public schools in Connellsville, graduating from high school in 1920. He attended Lawrenceville, class of 1922, and Princeton, class of 1926. He was a Pennsylvania Professional Survey Engineer and worked in that profession most of his adult life. As a surveyor he was the first employee of the Connellsville Airport Authority helping to develop that facility. Mr. Pendleton then played a key role in getting electric service to thousands of mainly rural western Pennsylvania residents still without service in the years leading up to World War II. This was in his capacity as the head of a surveying crew for the West Penn Power Company, where he laid out the routes for the needed lines. Subsequently he worked for H.C. Frick Co/U.S. Steel, served as Connellsville City Engineer and, in later years, was in private practice as a survey engineer, retiring August 01, 1986. Mr. Pendleton was a member of the First Christian Church of Connellsville; the King Solomon's Masonic Lodge #346, the Connellsville Historical Society, The Connellsville Rotary, the Sons of the American Revolution and the Turlock Historical Society. Mr. Pendleton is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 1992, and his daughter Charlotte in 1969. Mr. Pendleton is survived by his son, Reid Pendleton of Ventura, CA; his daughters, Peggy Fitch and Constance Heintz, both of Turlock, CA; his grandchildren, Robert Pendleton of Ventura, CA, Elizabeth Sporleder, of Watsonville, CA, Catherine Pendleton, of San Jose, CA, Alan Dixon, of Florida, Douglas Dixon, of Turlock, CA, Jill Duncan, of Arizona, Robyn Cappelluti, of Sacramento, CA, Keith Dahlgren, of Enid, OK, Charlotte Larsen, of Washington, D.C; and 14 great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St, Connellsville, PA 15425, where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Shellhammer officiating. Interment will follow in Green ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. King Solomon's Lodge #346 F & AM will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Rev. Cecil C. DeWitt, 94, longtime Pastor of the Full Gospel Church of Mt. Braddock, went to be with the Lord, Sun. April 3,2005 while in Beverly Health Care, Uniontown.
He was born Nov. 13,1910 in Sang Run, Maryland a son of the late Walter and Mary Flo Savage DeWitt.
Rev. Cecil C. DeWitt was Pastor of the Full Gospel Church of Mt. Braddock for the past 50 years. He was involved in helping the needy. It would be too numerous to write about the many needy and unfortunate families that he was involved in helping throughout all these many years. He and his wife, the late Bertha L. DeWitt, were dedicated to the work of the Lord all of their lives and will be sorely missed by all his family and community.
Rev. Cecil C. DeWitt is survived by his loving children Ruth Lawver of East Millsboro, Raymond E. DeWitt and his wife Gail of Mt. Braddock, Ellen Bloom and her husband Kenneth of Connellsville, Shirley Etling and her husband Don of Perryopolis, Roger C. DeWitt of Connellsville, and Robert D. DeWitt of Dawson, 27 grandchildren, 29 grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, his brother Wilbert DeWitt of New Salem, his sisters Mabel Guthrie of Oakland, MD., Dolly Black of Dunbar, and Clara Lilliock of Monarch, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Bertha L. Rodeheaver DeWitt, a daughter Eva Jean Goodwin, his sisters Beulah Laws and Pearl Basinger, and his brothers Emory, Ernest, and Howard J. DeWitt.

She was born Nov. 19,1905 in Connellsville a daughter of the late Harry F. and Edith Rebecca Bailey Tissue.
Rheba was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1924. She then graduated from the California State Teachers College, which is now California University of PA., in 1928. Prior to her retirement she worked as an Elementary School Teacher for the Connellsville School District at several different schools in the district. Rheba was a member of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville.
Rheba is survived by her loving sons John F. Pujia Jr. and his wife Marcia and William A. Pujia and his wife Debra all of Pittsburgh, 5 grandchildren Kristen Dietrich of Lisle IL., Gregory Pujia of Scottsdale AZ., Michael Pujia of Pittsburgh, Robert Pujia of Scottsdale AZ., and Lisa Rhoades of Latrobe, 3 great grandchildren, and a sister Ida Graner of FL..
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John F. "Frank" Pujia in 1996, 3 sisters Ruth Miller, Rebecca Davare, and Ruby Balsley, and 3 brothers Merle,Carl, and Harry Tissue.

Richard E. Sebek, of Mount Pleasant died Monday November 25, 2002 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in Mount Pleasant the son of the late George and Elizabeth Yezek Sebek. Mr. Sebek was retired form the Brown Boveri Co. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant, the Hecla Sportsmen Association, the Greensburg Pointer and Setter Club and he was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother,, George H. Sebek, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Sebek; two sons, Richard "Rick" Sebek and Mimi of Florida and David Sebek and his wife Mary Ellen of Century Farms, Greensburg and one daughter, Susie Coppula and her husband Doug of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Allison Willis and her husband Jason, Craig Sebek, Alysia, Amber and Adam Coppula and Jessica and Richard Scott Sebek and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert D. Shearer, 55 of Pittsburgh, formerly of Stahlstown,died unexpectedly, Saturday Nov. 23, 2002 while at his farm in Smicksburg,Indiana County.
He was born Feb. 13,1947 in Mt.Pleasant a son of Sue Pospisil Shearer of Stahlstown and the late Leo M. Shearer who died on June 30, 2002.
Robert was a graduate of Mt.Pleasant High School with the class of 1965. He was also a graduate of Marquette University in Michigan with a B.S. Degree in electrical engineering. He has been employed as a manager for the U.S. Steel Co. since 1976. Robert was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Donegal American Legion. He was also a member of the Ruff Grouse Society. He formerly attended the St. Raymond of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church in Donegal.
Robert is survived by his wife Laurie Graham Shearer, 2 sons Jeffrey L. Shearer and his wife Whitney L. Gresham of Sewickley, and Gregory J. Shearer of Pittsburgh, 2 grandchildren Nicholas and Caitlin Shearer both of Sewickley, and 7 sisters Margaret Datillio and her husband Raymond of Hobe Sound FL.,Virginia Jones of Stahlstown,Mildred Klee of Damascus MD.,Mary Shaffer and her husband Ronald of Stahlstown,Dorothy Shafer and her husband Walter of Ponte Vedra Beach FL.,Carolyn Turner and her husband Christopher of Fairfield CT., and Denise Luikart and her fiancée Anthony Bevilaqua of West Wyoming PA., and several nieces and nephews.

Rockwell C. Bitner, 89 of Bullskin Twp. died Thur. Aug. 7,2003 in the Harmon House, Mt.Pleasant.
He was born Oct. 25,1913 in Connellsville a son of the late Emerson S. and Anna May Kelly Bitner.
Rockwell was a life long resident of Bullskin Twp. Prior to his retirement in 1976 he worked as a Machinist for Robertshaw Controls in New Stanton. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Evangelical Church of North America in Bullskin Twp. and a member of it's Men's Bible Class.He was also a former member of the Bullskin Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. Rockwell loved the outdoors. Among his favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by his loving daughter Beverly Quinn and her husband William of Bullskin Twp., 2 grandchildren Richard Quinn and his wife Brenda of Bullskin Twp. and Kimberly S. Bell and her husband Timothy of Mt.Pleasant, 4 great grandchildren Kyle Quinn of Bullskin Twp., Kristopher Bell, stationed in Baghdad with the U.S. Army, Matthew and Brock Bell both of Mt.Pleasant, a step great grandchild Kaci B. Santamaria of Connellsville and 2 step great great grandchildren Kaylee and Jacob. Rockwell was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mabel M. Hodge Bitner in 1966, a son Ronald R. Bitner in 1971 and 2 sisters Erma Moyer and Anna M. Medsger.

Rose Emanuel Virgile, 80, of Connellsville died Wednesday July 30, 2003 at her home. She was born October 12, 1922 in Connellsville a daughter of the late Paul and Frances Formica Emanuel. Mrs. Virgile was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1941. Along with her husband, she was the retired owner and operator of Duke’s Bar in Connellsville. She was a member of the Ladies Lodge and a member of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville. She is survived by one sister, Theresa Emanuel of Connellsville; five nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony D. "Duke" Virgile and one brother, Sam Emanuel. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Thursday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. She was born November 20, 1923 in Connellsville the daughter of the Late Edward J. and Marie Auer Mulvihll. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School in 1943, she was a instructor for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. in her earlier years and was associated with her late husband, Joseph M. Kurtz in the operation of J.M. Kurtz Jewelers Store. She was a member of The National Rifle Association and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Connellsville. Surviving a son, Joseph M. Kurtz, Jr. and wife Sheila and grandson Justin Kurtz of Vanderbilt, a brother, John E. Mulvihill of Connellsville. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Kurtz on September 22, 2002. Friends will be received at The Brooks Funeral Home, Inc. 111 E. Green Street, Connellsville today from 7 to 9 and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. where services will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Craig Forsythe officiating. Interment will follow in Addision Cemetery.

Samuel Eugene Pritts, 75 of Mt.Pleasant RD #7(East Huntingdon Twp.) died suddenly Sat. Nov. 9, 2002 at his home.
He was born Oct. 7,1927 in Mt.Pleasant a son of the late Milton H. and Amanda Yothers Pritts Sr.
Eugene was a life long resident of Mt.Pleasant. Prior to his retirement he worked as a Truck Driver for B&P Motor Express in Irwin. He also worked as a School and Tour Bus Driver for Groomes Transit. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #30 in Irwin and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He attended the Pennsville Baptist Church.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Wanda R. Show Pritts, a son Barry E. Pritts and his wife Cynthia of RD #1 Scottdale, 2 daughters Charlene R. Pritts of RD #7 Mt.Pleasant and Kimberly K. Shabtai and her husband Menasha of Baltimore MD.,7 grandchildren Nathaniel, Jeremiah,Benjamin,Gabriel,and Eviatar Shabtai, and Samantha and Christopher Pritts, 3 brothers E.Paul Pritts and his wife Dalene of RD #7 Mt.Pleasant, Carl E. Pritts of Scottdale, and Richard L. Pritts and his wife Linda of RD #7 Mt.Pleasant,and 6 sisters Hilda Welker, Betty Lute,Gladys Brosh and her husband Thomas,Loretta Brosh and her husband William, and Beulah Coffman and her husband William, all of RD #7 Mt.Pleasant, and Emma Lou Mills and her husband Dale of Ruffsdale, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Milton H.Pritts Jr. and an infant sister.
Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 406 E. Washington St. Mt.Pleasant, on Mon. form 2-9 PM. A funeral service will be held Tue. at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Dr.Terry V. Murray officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Sarah A. Snidemiller, 85 of Leisenring, passed away Tue. May 2, 2006 in the Mt. Macrina Manor Nursing Home, Uniontown.
She was born June 16,1920 in Springfield Twp. a daughter of the late Neri and Lucy Murray Eicher.
Sarah had been a resident of Leisenring for most of her life. She was a very active member of the Leisenring Presbyterian Church.
Sarah is survived by her loving family, her son Robert E. Snidemiller and his wife Nancy of Cartersville, GA., her grandchildren Robert E. Snidemiller Jr. and his wife Janice of Appex NC., Stephanie Smith and her husband Clint of Mechanicsburg, Vicki Holoway and her husband Jim of Acworth GA., and Keith Snidemiller and his wife Traci of Thomaston GA., her 9 great grandchildren, and her brothers Charles E. Eicher and his wife Elizabeth of Normalville and Neri Eicher Jr. and his wife Ruth of Leisenring, and several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Sarah was predeceased by her husband Henry R. Snidemiller in 1980, 4 sisters Verda Richter, Dolly Richter, Anna Roe, and Mary Wolfe, a brother Albert Eicher, an infant brother, and 3 infant sisters.
