Sarah Ann Fontanazza, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at her home. She was born May 13, 1932 in New York City a daughter of the late Govern and Della Huffman Lawson.
Sarah was a retired cafeteria worker having been employed by the Mt. Pleasant School District retiring in 1994. She was also a member of the Church of the Brethren, Mt. Pleasant.
Sarah is survived by her loving family, her husband, Marion P. Fontanazza, Sr; two sons, Marion Fontanazza, Jr. and wife Marlene of Scottdale and Paul Snyder and wife Tracy of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Della Louise Sechrist of Monessen; Beverly Sue Watkins of Hunker and Barbara Jean Proud and husband James of Mt. Pleasant; eleven grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Louise Kalp and husband Charles of Mt. Pleasant, RD 5; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, John and James Lawson.
Private viewing for the family was followed by services conducted by Rev. Charles Whipple of the Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were under the direction of the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 406 E. WASHINGTON ST., MT. PLESANT. The family suggests memorials to Westmoreland Hospice 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Pa. 15601-2282 in memory of Sarah Ann Fontanazza.

Scott R. Ohler, 76, of Mount Pleasant( Bullskin Twp.) died Monday April 8, 2002 in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was born August 4, 1925 in Normalville a son of the late Daniel and Lyda Ritenour Ohler. Mr. Ohler was formerly employed as a construction worker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during W.W. II. He was also a member of the Mount Pleasant VFW. He was Protestant by faith. He is survived by his wife, Helen Savage Ohler; one son Scott Ohler of Acme; one daughter Susan Testa and her husband Mark of Erie; one grandson, Andy Testa; two brothers, Richard Ohler of Normalville and Ira Ohler of Connellsville; and one sister, Helen Edith Davis of Connellsville. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, George Ohler. Visitation and services will be private with interment in Green Ridge Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brooks Funeral home, Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant.

Shirley A. Hawk, 55 of Normalville, passed away Fri. Feb. 11, 2005 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 4 year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born Aug. 8,1949 in Bullskin Twp. a daughter of the late George and L. Gladys Kemp Etling.
Shirley was a resident of Bullskin Twp. for most of her life. She was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School with the class of 1967. Shirley was a Textile worker for the Union Apparel Company in Norvelt. She was a former member of the Mt.Olive Evangelical Church and a current member of the Everson Evangelical Church. Shirley greatest joy was her grandchildren and family.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Harry E. Hawk, her sons Harry E. Hawk Jr. and his wife Donna of Aberdeen Proving Ground MD., and George Hawk and his wife Becky of Normalville, her 5 grandchildren which she adored Harry E. III, George, Hannah, Emilee, and Madison Hawk, her brothers George R. Etling and his wife Bernadine of Ruffsdale, Don Etling and his wife Shirley of Perryopolis, John Etling and his wife Leona of Connellsville, Thomas Etling and his wife Betty of Dunbar, and James Etling and his wife Patty of Connellsville, and her sisters Mary Whipkey of Connellsville, and Peg Yancey and her husband Robert of Kileen TX.
In addition to her parents Shirley was predeceased by 4 brothers Eugene, Richard, Ronald, and Glenn Etling.
Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc. 111 E. Green St. Connellsville Sat. from 2-4 and 6-9 PM and Sun. from 1-4 and 6-9 PM. Additional viewing will be held Mon. from 11 AM - 1 PM, the hour of a funeral service, in the Everson Evangelical Church, with Rev. Neil Stevens officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery. Shirley A. Marker, 67, of Connellsville (Bullskin Twp.) passed away on July 17, 2003 at her home. She was born June 06, 1936 at Indian Head, PA a daughter of the late Eugene and Hazel J. Romesburg Miller. She had lived in Bullskin Twp. since 1984 and previously had lived in the Donegal-Stahlstown area. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School and of Durbins Secretarial School. She received a B.S. degree in Education from Findlay College in Findlay, Ohio. She worked for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. for several years during which time she received special recognition for her work at The Kennedy Library. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts in Stahlstown. She was a member of The Mill Run United Methodist at Mill Run. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Larry R. Marker; a son, Jarrah Marker, and wife Tiarrah, of Mentor, OH; a daughter, Shawnee Smith, and husband, Bob, of Greensboro, PA; three grandchildren, Joshua Marker, Hunter Smith, and Daniel Smith;three brothers, Donald (Joe) Miller, and his wife, Margie, of Newport News, VA, William Miller, and his wife, Jane and Ronald Miller, and his wife, Judy, both of Connellsville. Stella Wilma Gregg, 95, of Wood Crest Senior Living Center, Scottdale, formerly of Connellsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, at Mt. St. Macrina Manor, Uniontown, PA. She was born, September 20, 1907, in Connellsville, PA, the daughter of the late William R. and Sara MacDonald Kooser. She was the widow of Thomas E. Gregg, who passed away on August 28, 1991. They were married 66 years. She graduated from Connellsville High School in 1924 and was a member of the Faith Bible Church of Connellsville. She is survived by six children, Sara Lorraine Addis, and her husband, John W., of Vanderbilt, PA, and their six children; Mildred Marion Ritenour, of Dunbar, PA, and her four children; Shirley Bonita Bankes, of Connellsville, and her two children; Nancy Arlene Weltz, of Connellsville, and her three children; Deirdre Jane Hinsley, of Lynchburg, VA; and her two children; Thomas Alan Gregg, of Coraopolis, and his three children; 20 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Arlene) Persing, of Pittsfield, PA; Mrs. Clarence (Sara Elizabeth) Firsch, of Sumner, IA; and Mrs. Ralph (Pauline) Lininger, of Mill Run, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Darin Scott Weltz; a sister, Mrs. Hal (Laura Belle) Herrington; four brothers, William R. Thomas W. Coleman,89 of Mount Pleasant died Saturday April 15, 2006 at his home as a result of complications from lung cancer. He was born February 20, 1917 in Mount Pleasant a son of the late Patrick and Martha Wanatosky Coleman. Tom was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School, Class of 1935. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked as a rural route carrier for 22 years. He also worked as a bartender at the Mount Pleasant American Legion. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army Infantry. He was a member of the American Legion Post #446 of Mount Pleasant, the Ridgerunners Trailer Club and the Mount Pleasant Senior Citizens. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant. Tom was liked and admired by everyone who knew him. In his sunset years he went to daily mass and spent his mornings shooting pool at the senior center. He lived a full, content and happy life. Tom is survived by two children, Marjorie Domanski and her husband William of Virginia Beach, Va. and Thomas J, Coleman and his wife Diane of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one sister, Anna Mae Olson and her husband Paul of Youngwood. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Agnes A. DeMore Coleman; one brother, Hubert Coleman and two sisters, Margaret Hribal and Pauline Coleman. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Monday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant where a Blessing Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Pius X R.C. Church, Mount Pleasant with Rev. Monsignor Michael Matusak as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday in the Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 6,1912 in Mill Run a daughter of the late Wilson and Emma Thompson Basinger.
Verna was a life long resident of Mill Run. She was a member of the Mill Run United Methodist Church and the Mill Run Grange.
Verna is survived by her loving family, 3 sons James S. Cole and his wife Ellaree of Connellsville, John W. Cole and his wife Ann and Robert L. Cole and his wife Donna all of Mill Run, 3 daughters Norma Williams and Anna Mae Hall and her husband Edwin all of Mill Run, and Janet Hughes and her husband Louis of Dunbar, 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, a brother Charles Basinger of Mill Run, and 2 sisters Dorothy Stillwagon and her husband Allen of Mill Run and Mae Harris of Jefferson.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband James T. Cole in 1985, a son Harry L. Cole, 2 sisters Bessie Basinger and Violet Hutchison, and 4 brothers Harry, Jess, Woodrow, and Jacob Basinger.
Private funeral services were held for the family in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc. Melcroft, with Pastor Fred Booher officiating. A committal service and interment followed in the Normalville Cemetery.

Verna Mastowski Kasiewicz, 84, of Bullskin Twp. died early Sun. March 24, 2002 at her home.
She was born May 31,1917 in White a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Roszak Mastowski.
Verna was a long time resident of the White area and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother,and sister to her family. She was a member of the Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Mt.Pleasant.
Verna is survived by 2 sons Walter J. Kasiewicz and his wife Diana of White and Bernard S. Kasiewicz and his wife Patty of Scranton, a daughter Frances Gilewski of Clinton Twp. Michigan, a daughter-in-law Teresa Kasiewicz of White,18 grandchildren and 12 great garndchildren, 2 brothers Ted Mastowski of Mill Run and Clarence Mastowski and his wife Evelyn of Normalville, 2 sisters Bernice Mastowski of Leesburg FL. and Louise Mastowski of White, and a close friend Edna Cox of Scottdale.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Edward P. Kasiewicz Sr., a son Edward P. Kasiewicz Jr., a daughter Josephine Frankowiak, 2 sons-in-law Robert Frankowiak and Kenneth Gilewski, 2 brothers Walter and Frank Mastowski and 3 sisters Mary Mastowski, Helen Dzielski and Josephine Dzielski.

Vernon Harold(Slim) Meyers age 74 of Indian Head, Pennsylvania passed away at his home, Sunday, June 22, 2003. He was born November 6, 1928 at Normalville a son of the late Emerson and Susannah Fulton Meyers. He owned and operated Meyers Auto Repair Shop at Indian Head for fifteen years and had lived in the Uniontown Area in his earlier years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, a life member of The Amateur Trap Shooting Association. He was Protestant by Faith. He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Keefer of East Lake, Ohio, Wanda Meyers of Uniontown and Candice Brangard and husband Frank, Sr. of White, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren, William Keefer, Harold Keefer, Wanda Brangard, Vernon Brangard, Jamie Brangard, Daniel Brangard, Christina Edwards, Thomas Brangard, Frank Brangard, Jr. 18 great-grandchildren, one sister, Emmalou Flack of White, a brother, Charles W. Meyers and wife Pauline of Melcroft, also numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Emerson and Susannah Fulton Meyers he was predeceased by his wife, Loma Faye Brinker Meyers on October 24, 1961, a sister, Phyllis Jean Ritenour, and infant sister, Olive and two infant brothers, Irvin and George, a nephew, Wendell Flack. Vincent G. Fedorchak, 55, of Ruffsdale ( South Huntingdon Twp.) died Thursday May 13, 2004 at his home. He was born May 7, 1949 in Monessen a son of the late Vincent J. and Irma Fedorchak.. He was a graduate of Monessen High School and he was the Vice-President of Datek Computer Corporation of Mount Pleasant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #868 and the American Legion, both of Mount Pleasant. He was also a member of the Laurel Highlands Chamber of Commerce and St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mount Pleasant. Vince was an accomplished musician and songwriter and avid guitar player. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Fedorchak. He is survived by his wife, Beverly M. Blake Fedorchak; one son, Vincent M. Fedorchak of Greensburg; a step daughter, Kristen McKeag and her husband Robert of Greensburg; a stepson, Aaron Stevenson and his wife Rachel of Jeannette and several grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Sunday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 406 E. Violeta B. Roldan Warner, 54 of Clifton Park, NY. passed away Wed. Nov. 30,2005 in the Ellis Hospital Schenectady, NY.
She was born March 28,1951 in Naga City, Philippines a daughter of the late Alfredo and Felise Brillo Roldan.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education at the Universidad de Santa Isabel in the Philippines in 1972, and received a Masters of Education Degree at Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 1997. She was employed as an ESL Instructor at the Capital Region BOCES, and was also a substitute teacher for the Shenedehowa and Niskayuna school districts in New York. Violeta was an active member of the Philippine American Club of Schenectady.
Violeta is survived by her loving family her husband Robert B. Warner, her children Lisa-Ruth A. Karnes and her husband Craig of Alpharetta GA. and Phillip C.Warner and his wife Ange Rymer of Williamsport PA., her grandchildren Alexandra F. and Ethan H. Karnes, her brothers Francis Roldan and Thomas Rex Roldan and his wife Irene all of the Philippines, and Gene Roldan and his wife Nida of Australia, her sisters Catalina Mayes and her husband Duane of Detroit, Anna Britanico and her husband Magno and Salve Garza and her husband Rogelio all of the Philippines, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Violeta was predeceased by 2 brothers Alfredo Jr. and Rex Roldan.
Family and friends will be received Sun. from 6-9 PM in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc. route 711 Melcroft. A Funeral Mass will be held Mon. at 10:00 AM in St. Raymond of the Mountains R.C. Virginia a son of the late Wade and Lena Spangler Sisson. Mr. Sisson was a retired heavy equipment operator having been employed in the coal mining industry for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during W.W. II. He was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Frances Epperly Sisson in 1997; a grandson, Stephen Sisson and two brothers, Blaine and Glen Sisson. He is survived by four children, Michael "Mickey" Sisson and his wife Linda of Acme, Linda Zgorecki and her husband Edward of Scottdale, Becky McLuckey and her husband Robert of Connellsville and Steve Sisson and his wife Donna of Connellsville; six grandchildren,. Greg Sisson and his wife Jo, Melissa Geary, Kimberly Humphries and her husband David, Robert S. McLuckey and his wife Susan, Chad Sisson and Elizabeth Zgorecki; nine great grandchildren, Michael, Ryan and Devin Geary, Taylor Napolillo, Zachary McGinnis, Bobby McLuckey, Madison and Hunter Humphries and Charlie Sisson and two sisters, Ernestine Pushkar and her husband Harold of Melcroft and Helen Wilkes of Knoxville, Tenn. Friends will be received from 7- 9 P.M. Monday and 2-5,7-9 P.M. Tuesday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., Route 711, Melcroft where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Barry Conn officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the County Line Church of the Brethren, Champion, Pa. in memory of Wade and Frances Sisson.

Wendell R. Crouse Sr., 77 of South Connellsville, went to be with his Lord, Mon. Sept. 27, 2004 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 7,1927 in South Connellsville a son of the late Louis Gleason and Ethel Manilla Boyd Crouse. Wendell was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1945. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement in 1982 he worked as a Customer Service Representative for the Columbia Gas Co. He was a life long member of the Albright United Methodist Church in South Connellsville.
Wendell is survived by his children Lucinda "Cindy" Borris of South Connellsville, Wendell "Buddy" Crouse of Connellsville, Robert Crouse and his wife Judy of Richmond VA., Thomas 'Tom" Crouse of South Connellsville, and Rebecca "Becky" Christopher and her husband Tom of Connellsville, 2 step daughters Charmain Truney Gilbert of Broken Arrow OK., and Pamela Miller Bartholomai of South Connellsville, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren plus a great grandchild on the way, and 2 sisters Elaine Snyder and her husband George of Dunbar, and Ruth Tspiaris and her husband John of South Connellsville.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy May O'Neal Crouse in 1971 and his second wife Patricia E. Kerr Smith Crouse in 2001, and 2 brothers Donald and Boyd Crouse.
Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC. 111 E. GREEN ST. CONNELLSVILLE Tue. and Wed. from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Thur. at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Byron Tate Fulton and Rev. Dr. Marvin C. Watson officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Wilfred H. Ulery, 82, of Connellsville (Wooddale), died Thursday, July 31, 2003 in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born July 30, 1921 at White a son of the late William S. and Luzetta Shaffer Ulery.
Wilfred was retired from Bechtel Associates, Washington, D.C. where he worked as an Inspector and a Field Construction Inspector for the Metro Subway System. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the US Air Force attaining the rank of Corporal. Wilfred was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Connellsville.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Streittmatter Ulery with whom he would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on October 24, 2003; a son Dennis W. Ulery and wife Kathy of Wooddale; two daughters, Vonda Trovato and husband Salvatore of Irwin and Janice Hurst of Connellsville; four grandchildren, Dennis Ulery and wife Kim; Christine Sipos and husband Mark; and Jeffery and Steven Queer; two great-grandchildren, Samuel James Ulery and Taylor Sipos; a sister, Mrs. Clarissa Echard of Alverton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, William Ulery who died in infancy and Darwin E. "Bucky" Ulery on Sept. 18, 2002; 2 sisters, Violet Miller, Nettie Sanner and two sisters in infancy; 6 brothers, Samuel, Henry, Elroy, James Donald, Alva E., and Melvin D. Ulery and two brothers in infancy.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from noon-9 pm in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 111 E. Green St. Connellsville where services will be held on Monday at 12 Noon with the Rev. Herb Dubler officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in Ulery Cemetery near White.

William C. Baker, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Scottdale, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born November 17, 1920 in Scottdale, a son of the late Emmett and Elsie Moore Baker. Mr. Baker was retired from Duraloy-Blawnox of Scottdale. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in W.W.II, where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal and The Bronze Star. He was a member of the Connellsville Church of the Brethren. He is survived by one daughter, Donna McKetta, and her husband, Norman Jones, of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters, Lisa Marie and Vicki Lynn Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ada Ridgway Baker in 1987; one son, Dennis William Baker in 1979; two brothers, Elwood and Emmett Baker; and two sisters, Dorothy Stickel and an infant sister. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Brooks Funeral home, Inc., 406 E. Washington Street, Mt. Pleasant, where services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronald Overly officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp.
