Wilma Gail Baluch, 74, of Connellsville died Monday July 28, 2003 in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. She was born May 5, 1929 in Mount Pleasant a daughter of the late Jacob and Pearl Greenawalt Kint. Mrs. Baluch was an avid bingo player and she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her husband Richard Baluch; three sons, Joseph Baluch and his wife Cindy of Connellsville, Daniel Baluch of Connellsville and Michael Baluch at home; two grandchildren, Linda Swank and her husband Jeremy and Brittany Baluch and one great grandson, Noah Joseph Swank. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, Lloyd, Eugene and Elmer Kint and four sisters, Mary Jane Wingrove, Willa Mae Kint, Jean McDonald and Josephine Greenawalt. Friends will be received from 2-9 P.M. Wednesday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville where services will be held Thursday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Terry Hercik officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Yolanda C. Brunetti, 100, of Connellsville died Tuesday June 10, 2003 at her residence. She was born August 28, 1902 in Scontrone Abbruzzi, Italy a daughter of the late Giovanni and Cesaria Gatti Petti. Mrs. Brunetti moved to Connellsville in 1930. She was a member for over 70 years of St. Rita’s Roman Catholic Church, where, at the time of her death, was one of the oldest living members. She was also a member of the St. Rita Confraternity of Christian Mothers. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, James Brunetti on March 25, 1975; two brothers, Luigi and William Petti and three sisters, Filomena D'Onofrio, Primena DeSedario and Carmella Pizzi. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Fiano of Connellsville and Amelia Rodgers of Uniontown; six grandchildren, Gerard Fiano and his wife Joyce and their daughter Kasie, Christopher Fiano and his wife Jane and their children, Christopher, Anna and Sarah, Jeffrey Fiano and his wife Renee and their children, Elizabeth, Maria, Michael and Vincent and grandchildren Ann, John and Maureen and their families. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Thursday and Friday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville where a Blessing Service will be held Saturday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Rita R.C. Church, Connellsville with Rev. She was a resident of Champion for the last 20 years and was a member of the Clinton Church of God.

Anthony James Ambrosini, 64 of Connellsville, died Thursday, July 3, 2003 in UPMC Montifiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Dec. 26,1938 in Connellsville a son of the late Anthony A. and Catherine Hovanec Ambrosini.
Tony was a life long resident of Connellsville. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement Tony worked as a Boilermaker with Union Local #154 in Pittsburgh for 35 years. He was a member of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Barbara J. Matthews Ambrosini, his daughter Ashley Ambrosini of Connellsville, a step daughter Bridgette Bishop and her husband Tim of Connellsville, a step grandchild Baileigh Bishop, 3 sisters Isabella "Cookie" Pilla and her husband Frank of Connellsville, Catherine Truitt of Connellsville, and Margie Brown and her husband John of Burke VA., and a brother Al Ambrosini and his wife Becky of Connellsville.
Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville Sun. from 2-9 PM. A Funeral Prayer Service will be celebrated Mon. at 1:00 PM, in the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Lesniowski as celebrant. Beatrice A. Swan, 75 of Connellsville, died unexpectedly, Tue. May 21, 2002 in the Highlands Hospital,Connellsville.
She was born Jan. 31,1927 in Wheeler a daughter of the late Robert E. and Annabelle Cominsky Swan. She was a graduate of the former Dunbar Twp High School with the class of 1944. She had worked as a Clerk for the former Swan's Drug Store in Connellsville and the Second Selection Store in Uniontown. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Connellsville.
She is survived by a sister Betty J. Callahan of Connellsville and a brother Wayne Swan and his wife June of Kissimmee FL., a niece Sheila Metz of Connellsville, and 2 nephews Wayne Swan Jr. of South Carolina and Patrick Swan of England.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother Robert E. "Duck" Swan.

Beatrice E. Skinner, 84, of Matthews, N.C. formerly of Dickerson Run and Belle Vernon R.D. #3 died Tuesday May 28, 2002 in the Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews, N.C. She was born April 19, 1918 in Bullskin Twp. a daughter of the late Howard G. and Mildred Etta Shearer Etling.Mrs. Skinner graduated from the former Dunbar Twp. High School. She married J. Bruce Skinner and they moved to Newport News, Va. in 1962 where they lived for 36 years. She was an active member of the Orcutt Baptist Church, Newport News where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also taught crafts at the Extension Club. Mr. and Mrs. Skinner moved to Matthews. N.C. 3 and one half years ago to be closer to their son. Mrs. Skinner was a member of the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, Matthews. She is survived by her husband, J. Bruce Skinner with whom she was married for 54 years; one son, Burt Skinner and his wife Patsy of Matthews. N.C.; two grandchildren, Wade R. Skinner and his wife April and Lynn S. Betty G. Pritts, 76, of Connellsville, formerly of West Newton, died Monday February 2, 2004 at her home. She was born February 8,1927 in Bullskin Twp. a daughter of the late George and Mabel Nicholson Shultz. Betty was a graduate of Connellsville High School. Early in her life she was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco, Calif. and in 1952 she began working for Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh where she worked until she retired. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Community Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and member of the Ladies Bible Class. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Pritts, Jr. in 1990; two brothers, Harry and Wade Shultz and a special niece, Florence "Honey" Pletcher. She is survived by one brother, Harold Shultz and his wife Gladys of Connellsville and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews including, Harold, Jr.,George and Kevin Shultz, Tracie Shultz, Brenda Mathews and Shari Widener, her "godchild". Betty Louise Crouse, 72, of Uniontown, formerly of Connellsville, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 in Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown.
Betty was born August 27, 1930 in South Connellsville a daughter of the late Harry M. and Mary Eva Zimmerman Crouse.
Betty was a homemaker and had attended Albright United Methodist Church, South Connellsville. She was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the Class of 1948.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Ellen Crouse.
At Betty's request, there will be no public viewing. Friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday at 11 am in Hill Grove Cemetery, Connellsville. Interment will follow.

Bliss S. Hammaker, 75, of Connellsville (Wooddale) passed away Thursday, March 25, 2004 at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 22, 1928, in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Edythe Williams Shankle. She was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and of Grove City College in 1950 with a Bachelor of Music Degree. She has lived in Connellsville since 1952. She was a former teacher of music and reading in Connellsville School District. She was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Connellsville where she was choir director for 23 years. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a charter member and first president of the Bullskin Township Lioness Club. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Scottdale and its Clingerman Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Richard Hammaker; two sons, Jeffrey Alan Hammaker and fiancée Vickie Briggs of York, Pa., Paul Neal Hammaker and his wife Julie of Connellsville; four grandchildren, Janae Hammaker, Krista Hammaker, Jim Hammaker and Frankie Hammaker; a brother, Richard G. Shankle and wife Sue of Auburn, Ind. Her parents preceded her in death. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday in the Trinity United Methodist Church on Mulberry and Hickory streets, Scottdale, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time services will be held with the Rev. Dr. Paul B. Morris officiating. Everyone please go to the church. Private interment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park. She was born August 9, 1911 in Jacobs Creek a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Magdalene Grigor Kurincak. Mrs., Tylka was a resident of Carmichaels for over 38 years. She was a former member of St. Hugh's Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels and when she resided in Mount Pleasant she was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Michael Leo Tylka and two brothers, Joseph, Jr. and William Kurincak. She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Eleanor M. Tylka of Upper St. Clair; one son, Richard Tylka and his wife Janice of Lancaster, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one sister, Elizabeth Andreano of Parma, Ohio. Cynthia L. "Cindy" Beck, 48 of Acme, died Monday, March 24, 2003 in UPMC Montifiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born June 13,1954 in Connellsville a daughter of the Retha M. Johnson Morrison of Mill Run and the late Elmer E."Bud' Morrison.
Cindy was a graduate of the Connellsville Area High School with the class of 1972. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1975 from California University of Pennsylvania. Cindy has been a teacher at the Mt.Zion Christian Academy in Acme for the last 24 years and also taught at the Mountain Home School of Theology.Cindy and her family attended the Mt.Zion Community Church in Acme. Cindy's services to the church included AWANA, Choir,Junior Church,Nursery Worker,Ladies Bible Class, and Vacation Bible School.
In addition to her mother,Cindy is survived by her loving family, her husband Thomas R. Beck, with whom she would have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on May 22,2003, her children Amanda,Andrew, and Anna Beck all of Acme.her brothers David Morrison and his wife Susan of Sergeantsville NJ., and Kevin Morrison and his wife Beverly of Mill Run, her father and mother-in-law Carl and Sybil Beck of Indian Head, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Don Richard "Dick" Shipley, Sr., 74, of Connellsville died Saturday February 7, 2004 at his home. He was born March 17, 1929 in South Connellsville a son of the late Joseph R., Sr. and Bessie Mae Greer Shipley. "Dick" was a retired machine operator at Anchor Hocking Glass where he was employed for over 35 years. He was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, South Connellsville. He was a Lifetime, Charter member of the South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club and a 57 year member of the South Connellsville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Fayette County Firemen’s Association and a social member of the Connellsville VFW. He is survived by his wife Helen Rugg Shipley; six children, Linda Sherril of Minneapolis, Minn., Don Richard "Rick" Shipley, Jr. and his wife Deborah of South Connellsville, Larry Shipley and his wife Deborah of Columbus, Ohio, Marsha Estes of Connellsville, Joyce Blanish and her husband Norman of South Connellsville and Amy Keedy and her husband Brian of Connellsville.; 13 grandchildren; Christa Wormack,Michael Pleva, Erin Klippi,Robin Shipley, Anthony Vorrasi, Jesse Snyder, Brenan Keedy, Daniel Shipley, Shane Shipley, Stetson Keedy, Abigail Shipley Avonlea Keedy and Anna Blanish; five great grandchildren, Luther, Trevor and Cameron Wormack and Emilyn and Xavier Pleva; one brother, Roy "Barney" Shipley and his wife Jean of South Connellsville; one sister, Edythe DeBolt of the state of California and one sister-in-law, Florence McClintock of South Connellsville. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Kenzie McClintock, Joseph Shipley, Jr. and Delford "Pete" Shipley and two sisters, Vierma Bloom and an infant sister, Ivadean Shipley. Friends will be received from 2-4,7-9 P.M. Monday and Tuesday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville where services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Byron Tate Fulton officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery mausoleum. The South Connellsville Vol. Fire Department will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Donald B. Basinger, 71 of Ruffsdale, died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh due to injuries he sustained in an auto accident on Dec. 31,2003.
He was born July 6,1932 in Mt.Pleasant a son of the late Stanton and Mary F. Beal Basinger.
Donald was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Patterson Excavating Co. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the Mt.Pleasant VFW and American Legion.He was a member of the East Huntingdon Firemen's Club and the Bridgeport Sportsmen's Club. Donald was affiliated with the Paradise United Methodist Church in Bullskin Twp. Donald enjoyed NASCAR racing, hunting, and the outdoors.
Donald is survived by his loving wife Carol A. Miller Basinger, 4 sons Steven Donald Basinger of Gorham NY., Glenn Alan Basinger of Hunker, Darrell Wayne Basinger of Georgia, and Randall Francis Basinger of Ashtabula OH., a daughter Bettye Jo Koon and her husband Dennis of Laramie WY., 2 step sons Clyde Lester Daniels of Somerset and Dale Alan Daniels of Mt.Pleasant, and a step daughter Pamela Jean McClain and her husband Mark of Stahlstown, 13 Grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 4 brothers James Basinger and his wife Marion, Jack Basinger and his wife Nancy, Kenneth Basinger and his wife Dolores, and Dale Basinger and his wife Jean all of Mt. Pleasant, and 4 sisters Nancy Hoke and her husband William of Mt.Pleasant, Shirley Parker and her husband Jim of Fairview PA., Norma Jean Miller and her husband Harry of Delmont, and Leeanna Boring and her husband Robert of Mt.Pleasant. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son Michael Lynn Basinger, a brother Robert Basinger, and a sister Gloria Chearney.
Family and friends will be received in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc.,406 E. Washington St. Mt.Pleasant, Wed. from 7-9 PM and Thur. from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held Fri. at 11:00 AM, in the funeral home, with Rev. Doug Burns officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Greenlick Cemetery, Bullskin Twp. Military rites will be conducted at the Cemetery by the Mt.Pleasant VFW and American Legion.
