Francis Hart
Francis H. Hart, age 89, of Uniontown, passed away Monday, October 27, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born in Connellsville, PA, on December 29, 1913 son of the late Matthew and Henrietta Sandusky Hart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Linney Hart, a daughter Cynthia Grimes, and 6 brothers, James Hart, Frederick Hart, Charles Hart, Matthew Hart, Emmett Hart, and George Edward Hart, and a sister Margaret Erler.
Francis was a well-known musician and had his own orchestra called the "Bill Francis Orchestra" which played at various events in the Uniontown Area for many years. He was a member of the VFW Band. He was an avid hunter and loved taking rides through the Laurel Mountains. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Francis was an agent for the Baltimore Life Insurance Co. in the Uniontown Area for many years. He had also worked for the enamel plant and in various coal mines.
He is survived by 3 sons, Ronald Lee Hart and his wife Inga of Rockville, MD., Darrell Hart and his wife Cathy of Champagne, IL, and Francis (Pete) Hart and his wife Rita of Manassas, VA, 11 Grandchildren, and 8 Great Grandchildren, 2 brothers, William Hart of the state of California, and Robert Hart of Erie, and 4 sisters, Irlean Dragan of Monessen, Lorain Meagan of Fairchance, Christabell Branthoover of Belle Vernon, and Ethel Mae Ruck of Chatanoga, TN, a devoted friend and companion Dolores M. Garden and her daughter.
Friends will be received in the Dolfi Funeral Home, Uniontown, today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, October 30, 2003 from 9 to 10 a.m. the hour of service with Rev. Paul N. Frank, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
Nick Lacerenza
Nick A. Lacerenza, age 70 of Shallotte, NC., passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at his residence with his loving family at his bedside. He was born in Uniontown, PA, on December 27, 1932, son of the late Donato (Anthony) and Carmella D'Andrea Lacerenza.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 children, Gary Frank Lacerenza and Deborah Marie Lacerenza, a brother Donald Lacerenza, and 4 sisters, Marie Lacerenza, Nell Bongiorno, Julia Henry, and Catherine Cerul.
Nick was an avid golfer and belonged to the Briarwood Golf Club in Shallotte. He was also a member of the Italian Heritage Club in Wilmington, the Ciao Organization, and was both the Treasurer and Past President of the Cystic Fibrosis Chapter in Pittsburgh.
Nick was a 1950 graduate of Uniontown High School and a graduate of Waynesburg College. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the Army Air Force. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Army of Occupational Medal (Germany) and the Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Ethel Jean Lowther Lacerenza, and a son, Nicholas James Lacerenza of Little River, SC, 2 brothers, Peter Lacerenza of Uniontown, and Frank Lacerenza of Vienna, OH, and 3 sisters, Margaret Lacerenza of Uniontown, Louise Myers of Washington, PA, and Theresa Carnes of Uniontown, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received in the Dolfi Funeral Home, Uniontown, this evening from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, November 29, 2003 until 9:00 a.m. at which time a Blessing Service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese R. C. Church with Rev. Fr. Patrick O'Connor as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. (There will be no visitation on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day).
Sophia Sidor
Sophia T. Sidor, age 84, of Uniontown, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8, 2004. She was born in Uniontown on January 13, 1920, daughter of the late Andrew and Amelia Lake Czekanski.
Sophia was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved Polka music and enjoyed going to various clubs to hear polka bands and music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Sidor on March 20, 1980, and 3 brothers, Andrew, Steve and Ernest Czekanski.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Audrey L. Crossland of Uniontown, and 2 sons, John Sidor and wife Karen of Hopwood, and Richard Sidor and wife Bernedette of Carmichaels, 10 grandchilden, 8 great grandchildren, 5 sisters, Frances Johns and huband Daniel of Fairchance, Velma Ramps, . Amelia (Mickey) Patrick, Sylvia Susa and husband Willie, Maryann McIntryre and husband WIlliam all of Ohio, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received in the Dolfi Funeral Home, Uniontown, this evening from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday February 11, 2004 until 10:30 a.m. at which time a Panachida Service will be held followed by Divine Liturgy at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Wesdock as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John's Church Cemetery, Hopwood.. Parastas Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
Anthony 'Tony' Koszykowski
Anthony ´Tony´ Koszykowski “Kosykoski”, 89, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Twp., died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 1:50 pm at Hempfield Manor, Greensburg.
Born September 19, 1914 in Monessen, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Koszykowski Koszykowski.
Mr.Koszykowski was a resident of Rostraver Twp. for the past 52 years, a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon, member of theVFW Belle Vernon Post 699 and was retired from Whg-Pgh Steel Allenport Plant, where he worked as a Mill Wright.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army.

Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon 724-929-6183.
Prayer Service will be held Saturday at 9:00 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 9:30 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Ronald Cyktor Jr. Parochial Vicar as celebrant.
Interment will take place in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Monessen.
Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the Rosary for the departed soul of Anthony´Tony´ Koszykowski Friday at 3 PM in the funeral home.
Georgina Harden Ritchie
Georgina Jean Bush Harden Ritchie, 80, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp., died Monday, December 15, 2003 at 3:45 am at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp.
Born March 24, 1923 in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Jane Huscroft Bush.
Mrs. Ritchie was a resident of Washington Twp. for the past 55 years, was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly, Belle Vernon Order Eastern Star Chapter 196, Gold Star Mother, past member of Fayette City Womens Club, AARP and was the former owner of Jeannie´s Beauty Shop of 12 years in Fairhope.
