Eddie C. Cumberland, 71, of Tarrs, Pa., died Friday, March 23, 2001, at 7:45 a.m. in his home.
He was born March 28, 1929, in Wickhaven, Pa., son of Mary Stimmell Cumberland of Greensburg, Pa., and the late Isaac Cumberland.
Eddie was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict who served as a Private First Class.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by a son, John Cumberland, and two brothers, Harry and Charles Cumberland.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Isabelle Haines Cumberland; children: Mrs. Jeff (Edna) Leyk of Ruffsdale, Pa., Archie Cumberland his wife, Jodee, of Backus, Minnesota, Dennis Cumberland of Bear Rocks, Pa., Cheryl Cumberland of Smithton, Pa., and Mrs. Todd (Polly) Brannon of Moorehead, North Carolina; four grandchildren; and a sister.
Friends will be received at the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday, March 26, until 1 p.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Ralph Mostoller officiating.
Interment will be private for the family.
Military Honors will be accorded by V.F.W. Goldstar Post 7023 and American Legion Post 752, Perryopolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church, Tarrs, PA 15688.
Lena Mullen Flesher
Lena Mae Mullen Flesher of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in Uniontown Hospital with her family at her side.
She was born in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Peter S. Mullen and Carne Richter Mullen.
Lena was a member of Central Christian Church and a former member of the Madeline Rebekah Lodge.
She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Mother-in-law.
In prior years she enjoyed gardening, shopping, cooking, baking, and caring for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her phone friends, radio, newspaper, and the comforts of home.
She will truly be missed by many!
Her husband, Robert Earl Flesher, died in 1972. Also deceased are three brothers, Joseph, Donald and James Mullen, a sister, Catherine Cain, and her parents. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, William A. Robinson, in 1999.
She is survived by two daughters: Carolyn Robinson with whom she made her home and who lovingly cared for her for many years and Karen Cramer and her husband, Randall, of Smock R.D.1, Pa.; three grandchildren: Shari and her husband, Brad Rogers, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., Scott Cramer of Hopwood, Pa., and Brian Cramer of Dover, Pa.
She is also survived by a brother and three sisters: Edison Mullen of Uniontown, Pa., Sarah Peterson of Smithton, Pa., Mildred Shultz of Butler, Pa., and Viola Shaw of New York.
A private service was held Thursday, March 22, at the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, with her son-in-law, Randall Cramer, officiating.
Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown.
Robert L. Griffin
Robert L. Griffin, 51, of Dilliner, Pa., a 1968 graduate of Mapletown High School, died Friday, March 23, 2001, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.
He is survived by two sons: Darel P. Griffin of Carbondale, Pa., and Guy J. Griffin of Smithfield, Pa.; daughter, Kelly J. Griffin Ankrom of Waynesburg, Pa.; grandchildren: Gage Griffin, Reid Griffin, and Lexus Griffin; a sister, M. Jaretta Griffin Faust of Carlsbad, New Mexico; a brother, Sanford Griffin of Smithfield, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, 501 Morgantown Street, Point Marion, Pa., on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday until 11 a.m.
Laura Bell Brooks Hill
Laura Bell Brooks Hill, 86, a resident of Jefferson, Pa., since 1948, who was born in Natchez, Mississippi, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, in her home.
She is survived by four grandchildren: Thomas A. Brooks and John M. Brooks both of Jefferson, Pa., Carl R. Brooks of Waynesburg, Pa., and Martha Brooks Reddings of Jefferson; great-grandchildren: Anita E. Reddings, Thomas A. Brooks Jr., Andrew M. Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Caitlyn Brooks, Madison Brooks; eight great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received in the Behm Funeral Home Inc., Gregory P. Rohanna, Supervisor, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Rae Margaret Frazier Kaczmarek, 81, of Greensburg who was born in Connellsville, Pa., wife of Stanley D. Kaczmarek, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, in Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pa.
She is survived by five children: Dennis J. Kaczmarek, of Melrose, Florida, Patricia M. Kaczmarek Lightcap and Mrs. Randal (Rosemary) Finfrock both of Greensburg, Pa., Clare Kaczmarek of Whitney, Pa., and Evelyn K. Kaczmarek Merriman of Ligonier, Pa.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers: Lindsey Frazier Jr. of Warren, Ohio, and Patrick Frazier of Connellsville, Pa.; sisters: Dorothy Frazier Freeman of Levittown, Pa., Genova Frazier Goodwin of Everson, Pa., Wilma Frazier Izzo of Charleroi, Pa., and Rosemary Frazier Shallenberger of Lutz, Florida; also several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth R. Lanzi
Elizabeth R. "Liz" Crish Lanzi, 86, of Dunbar, Pa., died Friday, March 23, 2001, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant.
She was born January 13, 1915, in Mount Braddock, Pa., daughter of Joseph Crish and Mary Joan Mascia Crish.
She was a Homemaker, member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Dunbar Sons of Italy, and Connellsville Knitting Club, and was one of "The Pizza Girls" at St. Aloysius.
A sister, Mary Carbone, a brother, Joseph Crish, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Embrey Lanzi; a daughter, Celeste and her husband, Tom Fotta, of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren: Robert Fotta and his wife Kelly, Susan and her husband Bryan Ginley, Michael Fotta, Tommy Fotta; great-grandchildren: Lauren Fotta, Joshua Ginley, Gregory Ginley; a sister, Nellie Cammeresi of Dunbar, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Interment will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited in the Funeral Home on Monday at 4 p.m.
Joseph W. Lubovinsky
Joseph W. "Butch" Lubovinsky, 73, of Bullskin Township, Pa., a United States Army Veteran who served with the 85th Tank Battalion with the 2nd Army during the Korean conflict, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen Detwiler Lubovinsky; son, Joseph H. Lubovinsky and his wife, Diane H., of South Greensburg, Pa.; grandsons: James Anthony Lubovinsky and Daniel Scott Lubovinsky; and sisters: Mary Ann Lubovinsky Schmitz and her husband, James Schmitz, and Valerie Lubovinsky Smarsh and her husband, Michael Smarsh, both of Mount Pleasant, Pa., and Josephine Lubovinsky Kennedy of Arkansas.
Services, which were held Saturday at 11 a.m., were followed by interment.
Arrangements were under direction of the Eugene G. Saloom Funeral Home Inc., 730 West Main Street, Mount Pleasant.
Olympia M. Luckey
Olympia M. Luckey, 77, of Dunbar, Pa., died Saturday March 24, 2001, in Beverly HealthCare, Uniontown.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Luckey Ganoe and her husband, Steve Ganoe, of Point Marion, Pa.; a son, Robert A. Luckey and his wife, Norma Jean, of LaFayette, Louisiana; grandsons: Barry Ganoe and Bobby Luckey; granddaughter, Michelle Luckey; and sisters: Margaret Cirillo of Champion, Pa., Eileen Ewing of Detroit, Michigan, and Edith Rihtarcik of Fayette City, Pa.
Friends will be received in the Jerome W. Shell Funeral Home, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday until 11 a.m.
Matthews McNutt
Mary Ellen Welsh Matthews McNutt, 92, of Mount Independence, Pa., peacefully went to be with The Lord on Friday, March 23, 2001. She had been a resident of Weaver Personal Care Home for the last several years and was a longtime resident of North Union Township.
She was born February 5, 1909, in Nubbin Ridge, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Harford Alan Welsh and Nancy Agnes Evans Welsh.
Mrs. McNutt was the oldest member of Cove Run Free Methodist Church and previously worked in the Housekeeping Department at Jumonville Training Center.
Her first husband, Walter Matthews Sr., died May 11, 1959. Her second husband, Fred McNutt, died February 22, 1982. A son, William Harry Matthews, died November 4, 1931. Also deceased are four sisters, Stella "Ted" Bailey, Jessie Welsh, Lena Ward, Verda Welsh, one brother, Earl "Farmer" Welsh, and her parents. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Surviving are five sons: Dale Matthews and his wife, Gail, of Mount Braddock, Pa., Charles "Ted" Matthews and his wife, Wanda, of Mount Independence, Walter "Junior" Matthews and his wife, Shirley, of Mount Independence, Emmett D. Matthews and his wife, Mary Jane, of Mount Braddock, and Russell W. Matthews of Mount Independence; nine grandchildren: Theodore W. Matthews, Timothy L. Matthews, James V. Matthews and Gerald D. Matthews all of Mount Independence, Darcia L. Klippi of Connellsville, Pa., Susan J. Matthews of Mount Braddock, Gregory D. Matthews of Pittsburgh, Pa., Emmett G. Matthews of Tucson, Arizona, David L. Matthews of Houston, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rose Marie "Sis" Matthews of Mount Independence; a brother-in-law, Charles McNutt of Canton, Ohio; several first cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues Tuesday, March 27, in Cove Run Free Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roger Yeager and Rev. Eugene Cowsert officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.

Gilbert E. Myers
Gilbert "Gibby" E. Myers, 74, of Addison, Pa., went to be with The Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2001, from Western Maryland Hospice Center after a long illness with his family by his bedside.
He was born May 1, 1926, in Markleysburg, Pa., a son of William Newton Myers and Mary Pearl Fisher Myers.
Gibby was a member of Addison Methodist Church where he served as Caretaker for 23 years. He retired from Snavely Forest Products as a Tractor-Trailer Driver. He was a Truck Driver for most of his life.
He served in the United States Army Infantry in the European Theatre.
A son, Thomas Gilbert Myers, two sisters, Ruth A. Smith and infant sister, Pearl, two brothers, William N. Myers Jr. and Eugene Myers, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Grace Eleanor Green Myers; five children: Samuel Myers and his wife, Bertha, of Hyndman, Pa., Twila R. Kramer and her husband, William, of Warren, Pa., Ricky A. Myers and his wife, Sandy, of Mill Run, Pa., Tamara R. Rugg and her husband, Gary, of Addison, Pa., and Sheila D. Hager and her husband, Jonathan, of Markleysburg, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert A. Myers of Markleysburg, Pa.; and two sisters: Betty J. Rosenberger of Markleysburg, Pa., and Judith M. Woods of Ursina, Pa.
Friends will be received in the RODNEY S. TURNER FUNERAL HOME, Markleysburg, Pa., today, March 25, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating.
