Frances Wood Bierer
Frances S. Wood Bierer, 92, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, October 6, 2000, in her residence.
She was born in Uniontown, Pa., on March 20, 1908, daughter of William S. Wood and Maude Andrews Wood.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Uniontown.
Her husband, Charles F. Bierer, died in 1964 and their son, Milton S. Bierer, died in 1973.
Also deceased are two brothers, Edgar and Kenneth, and her parents.
She is survived by three children: Mrs. David (Mary Frances) McGaughey of Farmington, Pa., Charles F. Bierer and his wife, Louise, of Euclid, Ohio, and Thomas E. Bierer of Uniontown, Pa.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clyde H. Wood of Lakeside, California.
Friends will be received in the JAMES D. BARNETT FUNERAL HOME, 196 West Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 10, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Whitehead officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Charles E. Christner
Charles E. "Chuck" Christner, 56, of Fitzhenry, Smithton R.D., Pa., a custodian at the Smithton Truck stops, died Thursday, October 5, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bryan Christner, children: Charles Christner Jr. of Fitzhenry, Tina Christner and her fiancé, Tawaan Baker, of Rostraver, and Tammy Christner Reys and her husband, Scott Reys, of New Stanton, Pa.; grandchildren: Heaven, Summer, and Tawaan Baker Jr.; and a sister, Betty Christner Lemley of McClellandtown, Pa.
Friends will be received at the L. L. Barthels Funeral Home Inc., Second St., Smithton, Pa., today until 1 p.m.

Marianne R. Elton Crossley
Marianne R. Elton Crossley, 77, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday morning, October 6, 2000, in her home.
She was born December 6, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Edward Elton and Marian Stephenson Elton.
Marianne was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, St. Peter’s Women’s Group, the Altar Guild, and the Choir, and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Her husband, Charles V. Crossley, a brother, David Elton, and her parents preceded her in death.
Marianne is survived by three sons: Carl R. Crossley and his wife, Sandra L., of Woodbridge, Virginia, Michael E. Crossley and his wife, Beverly A., of Vienna, West Virginia, and Gregory C. "Hoss" Crossley of Uniontown, Pa.; six grandchildren: Carla R. Carey, Christina R. Kreutter, Marianne R. Crossley, Jennifer H. Crossley, Nancy L. Crossley, and David M. Crossley; a brother, John Elton of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Betsy McCoy of Pensacola, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 21, at 1 p.m. in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 60 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, with Fr. Thomas R. Finnie officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Uniontown Public Library, 24 Jefferson Street, Uniontown, PA 15041 or the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa.

Josephine D. Maruca DeCarlucci
Josephine D. Maruca DeCarlucci, 84, of Mount Lebanon Township, Pittsburgh, and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, October 6, 2000, in her home.
She was born January 24, 1916, in Orient, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Joseph and Rosa Maruca.
She was a 1933 graduate of Uniontown High School, Uniontown Beauty Academy in 1934, and 1940 graduate of M. Louis Hair Design Institute of New York City.
She was a business owner since 1933, the proprietor of Josephine Hair Stylist, DeMar Beauty Salons in Fayette, Washington and Allegheny Counties.
She was co-founder of TWC-the Wig Company-and its predecessor, the Eva Gabor Wig Boutique group of stores. At age 84 she remained involved in the businesses. TWC is the second largest catalog and internet retailer of ladies wigs and hair add-ons in the United States and Canada.
She was a member of the Choir at Our Lady of Grace Church in Mount Lebanon and a member of the American Natural Hygiene Society.
She was the beloved wife of the late James V. DeCarlucci.
Two sisters, Mary Farina and Sally (Mrs. Guyton) Sallie, a brother, Frank Maruca, and her parents also preceded her in death.
She was the loving mother of Vincent J. DeCarlucci of Bethel Park, Pa., Carol Romine of Miami, Florida, Valentia McAleer of Bethel Park, Pa., Roseta Rosenstern of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Jovita Stevenson of Charlotte, North Carolina.
She is also survived by her brothers: Samuel Maruca of Arlington, Virginia, and Leonard Maruca of Newark, Delaware; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at BEINHAUERS, 2828 Washington Road, Peters Township, McMurray, Pa., today and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 10, at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 310 Kane Boulevard, McMurray.
Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Dortheia A. Gearhart
Dortheia A. Miller Gearhart, 71, of Acme R.D.3, Pa., one of the founding members of The Mountain Watershed Association, died Friday, October 6, 2000, in Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pa.
She is survived by three children: Harold Gearhart and his wife, Janet, of Acme, Jerry Gearhart and his wife, Diane, of Acme, Shelva Gearhart Hauer and her husband, Charles Hauer, of Salisbury, Pa.; grandchildren: Troy Hauer and his wife Dorothy, John Hauer, Leona Hauer, Sarah and her husband, Jerimiah Kerns, Hannah Gearhart and Jerold Gearhart; step-grandsons: John Brant and Jason Brant and his wife, Jill; one great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandsons; one step-great-granddaughter; sisters: Myrtle Miller Keslar of Mount Pleasant, Pa., and Shirley Miller Fisher and her husband, Louis Fisher, of Rockwood, Pa.
Friends will be received in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, Pa., today from Noon to 9 p.m. and Monday until 12:30 p.m.

Mary Guseman Goff
Mary E. Guseman Goff, 82, of Blosser Hill, Point Marion, Pa., died Friday, October 6, 2000, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.
Born November 14, 1917, in Morgantown, West Virginia, she was a daughter of Gale Guseman and Hattie E. Herring Guseman.
She was a former member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and also Trinity Methodist Church in Point Marion.
She was formerly employed as a Clerk for Sisler’s Market in the Point Marion area and later for Chico Dairy in Morgantown.
Her husband, Raymond H. Goff, died June 18, 1992. Also deceased are four brothers, James E., Robert L., Gale Jacob, and Fred T. Guseman, and her parents.
She is survived by a son and his wife, John and Janice Goff of Point Marion; two daughters: Carol Hargan of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Charlotte and her husband, Charles Hoard, of Morgantown, West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and sisters: Dorothea Sisler of Morgantown, West Virginia, Marjorie Emory of Uniontown, Pa., and Eleanor Butts of Milford, Michigan.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday October 9, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Cliff Rayburn, Minister, officiating.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Dorothy Woods Golden, 87, of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, October 6, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born January 21, 1913, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of Clark Woods and George Woods, and her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, Bruce Golden and his wife, Carol, of Uniontown, Pa.; one sister, Beatrice Myers of Aliquippa, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
There will be no public visitation. Interment will be private.
If desired, contributions can be made to the SPCA of Uniontown or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under direction of the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa.

Bruna Nencini Halowich
Bruna Nencini Halowich, 80, of 103 South Redwood Street, Masontown Pa., died Wednesday, October 4, 2000, in UPMC, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born October 25, 1919, in Footedale, Pa., daughter of Armendo Nencini and Anna Pasquani Nencini.
She was a graduate of the former Fairchance-Georges High School and a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown.
Her husband, Alex Halowich, died in 1993. A sister, Nellie Hidock, and her parents are also deceased.
She is survived by her children: Mrs. Odina Yaczola and Mrs. Patty Krysak and her husband, Joe Krysak, all of Masontown; four grandchildren: Stephen Yaczola and his wife, Theresa, of Uniontown, Pa., Cassandra Krysak, Brandee Krysak and Joseph Krysak III all of Masontown; and sisters: Yolanda Drawser of Hyattsville, Maryland, and Maggie Aretta of Fairchance, Pa.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River avenues, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, October 9, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, with Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as Celebrant.
Entombment follows in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
Parish Wake Service will be held today at 2 p.m.
Visitation was also held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

James Albert Henry Jr.
James Albert Henry Jr., 77, of McAllen, Texas, and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., died Saturday, October 7, 2000.
He is survived by his former wife, Wanda Leeper Henry of Brownsville, Pa.; three children: Gary Henry and his wife, Denise, of Fredericktown, Pa., Sharon and her husband, Wayne Givens, and Cindy and her husband, Ronald Sabo, all of Brownsville, Pa.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held and will be announced.
Arrangements are under direction of the Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa.
