Abram Stephen Shanaberger
Abram Stephen Shanaberger, age 6 weeks and 4 days, of Smithfield, Pa., died Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born May 24, 2000, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of Chris Shanaberger and Stephanie Van Buren Shanaberger of Smithfield, Pa.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his Paternal Grandparents, Robert and Patty Shanaberger, Smithfield; Maternal Grandparents, Stephen Van Burn, Lewisburg, West Virginia, and Vicki Van Buren, Penncraft, Pa.; Maternal Great-Grandparents, Nadine and Johnnie Van Buren, Selma, Virginia, and Shirley and Bill Black, Harrisonburg, Virginia; uncles, aunts and cousins.
Abram was predeceased by his Paternal Great-Grandparents, Charles and Anna Shanaberger and Alice and Don Walters.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 WEST CHURCH STREET, FAIRCHANCE, Pa., on Tuesday, July 11, from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon.
Services will be held in the DEAN C. WHITMARH FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, July 11, at 12 Noon with Rev. Gary R. McFadden officiating.
Private interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

John Stanchak
John Stanchak, 88, of Wickhaven, Pa., died Friday, July 7, 2000, at 3 p.m. in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa.
He was born August 27, 1911, in Wickhaven, Pa., son of Andrew Stanchak and Sofia Korbelek Stanchak.
John was a member of St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Charter Member of St. Johnís Golden Agers, and a member of The Sokol Club and The Heritage Society all in Perryopolis.
He was a Veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army, and was a member of American Legion Post 752 in Perryopolis.
Four sisters, Augustine Novotni, Antonia Whitehouse, Mary Strother, Julie Morris, and his parents are deceased.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Amelia Krasovic Stanchak; one son and one daughter: John A. Stanchak and his wife, Constance, of Malvern, Pa., and Mrs. James (Patricia) Duff of Cortland, Ohio; three grandchildren: Jennifer A. Stanchak, Christopher A. Stanchak, and James Patrick Duff; four sisters: Mrs. Louis (Ann) Farina and Mrs. Helen Tedesco both of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Rose Aspinwall of Star Junction, Pa., and Mrs. Harry (Eva) Stuckslager of Wickhaven, Pa.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, July 11, at 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with Rev. Fr. John T. Euker as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by V.F.W. Goldstar Post 7023 and American Legion Post 752 both of Perryopolis.
Wake service will be held this evening at 8 p.m.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Elisabeth Strawberry
Elisabeth 'Betty' Hildock Strawberry, 77, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Saturday, July 8, 2000, in Allegheny University Hospitals, Allegheny General, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born August 13, 1922, in Fayette County, Pa., daughter of John J. Hildock and Mary S. Miller Hildock.
She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.
Her parents are deceased.
Elisabeth was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John F. Strawberry; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation for the Family is private.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be said today, Monday, July 10, at 11 a.m. in St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel and Rev. Fr. Paul Whalen as Concelebrants.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the local chapter of the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are under direction of the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa.

Emerson Lloyd Swink
Emerson Lloyd Swink of Bullskin Township, Fayette County, Pa., passed away early Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born in Bullskin Township, a son of William T. Swink and Mary Harshman Swink.
Emerson was a lifelong resident of Bullskin Township and was a graduate of Connellsville High School.
He retired as a Quality Control Engineer from Robertshaw in New Stanton.
He was also the former owner and operator of Connellsville Building Block.
Emerson had served on the school boards in Bullskin Township, Connellsville, and Fayette County for 25 years.
He was a member of Pennsville Baptist Church.
Emerson was a member of Marion Lodge No. 562 F.&A.M. and various other Masonic Bodies including the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite Valley of Uniontown, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Westmoreland Forrest No. 77, Urania Royal Arch Chapter No. 192, Olivet Council No. 13, Comas Club, Kendron Commandry No. 18, and the Syria Shrine in Pittsburgh. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Edna Swink and Nevada Bielstein, and six brothers, William, Earl, Homer, Melvin, Clarence, and Wade Swink.
Emerson is survived by his loving wife, Wilma J. Grimm Swink; his children: Alma and her husband, Mark Courtley, of Bullskin Township, Karen and her husband, William Wilson, of Bullskin Township, and William Swink and his wife, Carol, also of Bullskin Township; his grandchildren: Jody and her husband Gary Oswald, William Swink and his wife Andrea, Jeffrey Swink and his wife Carol, and Brent Wilson; his great-grandchildren: Jared, Justin, Kris, Colby, Kaleb, and Anna Oswald; and a sister, Hazel Clark of Bullskin Township.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Murray and Pastor Robert Bixel officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park.
Marion Lodge No. 562 F.&A.M. will conduct a service in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Theresa Arnold Ulle
Theresa V. Arnold Ulle, 97, of Gallatin Road, Masontown, Pa., died Friday, July 7, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. She was born October 13, 1902, in Frankfurt, Germany, daughter of Matthew Arnold and Anna Ausrecher Arnold.
She was a housewife.
Her husband, Karl J. Ulle, died in 1950. A son-in-law, George Seiaman, and her parents are also deceased. She was the last remaining member of the Arnold family.
She is survived by a daughter, Hildegarde M. Ulle Seiaman of Masontown; a son, Karl F. Ulle of San Bernardino, Calif.; 8grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 11, until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, Pa., with Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa. Donations to: All Saints Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 101 West Church Avenue, Masontown, PA 15461. Parish wake service will be held today.

Carl Frederick Betchy Jr.
Carl Frederick Betchy Jr., 50, of Masontown, Pa., died Saturday, August 19, 2000, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.
He was born February 12, 1950, in Smithfield, Pa., son of Carl Frederick Betchy Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Rhodes Betchy.
Mr. Betchy was a retired Mine Foreman and Federal Mine Inspector, and a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1970.
He was a member of the Italo-American Citizens Club and Masontown Fish and Game Club, and a social member of Faith-Gray-McArdle V.F.W. Post 4584.
His wife, Joanne Swetz Betchy, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons: Carl F. Betchy III and his wife, Cindy, and Jerod A. Betchy all of Masontown; three grandchildren: Joshua V. Betchy, Morganne E. Betchy, and Joanne Betchy; four sisters: Sharon Rattay and her husband, Steve, Charlotte Manzano and her husband, Luis, Linda Corsetti and her husband, John, and Debbie Poole and her husband, William, all of Masontown, Pa; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, August 22, until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Fr. James F. Bump officiating.
Interment will follow in Old Frame Cemetery.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

George Clark
George Clark, 88, of Hopwood, Pa., died Sunday, August 20, 2000, in Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown, Pa.
He was born March 25, 1912, in Cardenden, Fife, Scotland, the son of Thomas Clark and Mary Simpson Clark.
He served in the United States Army during World War II as a Petroleum Engineer in the European Theatre of Operation.
George was the Golf Course Superintendent at the Uniontown Country Club for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, the John Knox Bible Class, Verona Lodge F.&A.M., Pittsburgh Consistory, and General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pa.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Flack Clark, in 1993, a brother, John Clark, two sisters, Isabelle Gutherie and Janet Yarley, and his parents.
He is survived by a daughter, Joanne Radman of Naples, Florida; two grandsons: Scott Radman of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Joel Radman of Bethesda, Maryland; and a sister, Mary Clark Gutch of Verona, Pa.
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 22, in Verona Cemetery, Oakmont, Pa., with the Rev. James R. Tweardy officiating.
In lieu of flower, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Fayette County Unit, Route 40 West, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Arrangements are under direction of the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa.
