Madeline Eleanor Schomer Baker, 77, of Dunbar, Pa., and formerly of Connellsville, Pa., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 4, 2000, from Highlands Hospital, Connellsville.
She was born March 13, 1923, in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of the now late William and Mary Schomer.
She was a member of Dunbar Baptist Church, graduate of Connellsville High School, and a former Secretary for Columbia Gas Company for a number of years.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jack E. Baker; two children: Susan Ann and her husband, William Hastings of Richmond, Virginia, and Scott Baker and his wife, Patricia, of Dunbar; a sister, Mary Billie of Morgantown, West Virginia; and six grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Wednesday, November 8, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rick Tuttle officiating.
Committal and Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
Joyce Ellen Brown
Joyce Ellen Brown, 48, of Brownsville, Pa., died Sunday, November 5, 2000, at 1:30 a.m. in Brownsville General Hospital.
She was born March 29, 1952, in Brownsville, Pa.
Her father, Wendell Hugh Brown, died September 15, 1997.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred L. Sanders Brown of Brownsville, Pa.; one brother, Jeffrey W. Brown and his wife, Pam, of Brownsville; and one niece, Holly Elizabeth Brown.
Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street, Route 40, Beallsville, Pa., on Tuesday, November 7, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Howard McKinney officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
William Brown Sr.
William "Bill" Brown Sr., 75, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, November 4, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born November 12, 1924, in Wynn, Pa., son of Edward Brown and Sarah Elizabeth Thomas Brown.
He was a World War II Veteran.
A daughter, Brenda Massie, four sisters, Lucille Brown, Nellie Brown, Betty Hughes, Rose Carter, brothers, Marshall and Charles Brown, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Brown; children: Patricia and husband James White, Lydia and husband Marvin Harris, and Carolyn Brown all of Uniontown, William Brown Jr. and wife Shelly and Eletta Brown all of Pittsburgh,, Pa.; grandson, Troy A. Brown and wife, Suzanne, of Virginia; 14 other grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one aunt, Helen R. Brown, and one sister, Ruth Harrison, both of Uniontown; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Wednesday, November 8, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Vincent L. Winfrey officiating.
Marco Bruni
Marco "Red" Bruni, 82, of Republic, Pa., died Friday, November 3, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born December 8, 1917, in California, Pa., son of Joseph and Catherine Bruni.
Mr. Bruni was a member of and usher at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Republic, and a graduate of California High School, Class of 1935, where he was an outstanding athlete and received several scholarship offers.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was an interpreter for the American Army Intelligence in Italy.
He was a lifetime member of American Legion John F. Kennedy Memorial Post 28 and Uniontown V.F.W. Post 47.
For many years, he was owner and operator of Red’s Tavern in Republic.
His wife, Lena B. Mazzocco Bruni, died in 1994. Also deceased are a brother, Frank Bruni, a sister, Ennis Webb, and his parents.
Surviving are two daughters: Marlene DeFife and her husband, Anthony DeFife, of Canonsburg, Pa., and Christine Roskovensky and her husband, Atty. Vincent Roskovensky, of Uniontown, Pa.; three grandchildren: Marc DeFife, Robyn DeFife and Vincent M. Roskovensky; and a brother, John Bruni of Bridgeville, Pa.
There will be no public visitation at the request of the deceased.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be said in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, Uniontown.
Entombment will follow in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John The Evangelist School, 84 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401 or Holy Rosary School, 5 Abigail Street, Republic, PA 15475.

William C. Donaldson
William C. Donaldson, 56, of Eighty Four, who was born in New Eagle, Pa., died Saturday, November 4, 2000, at home.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Devore Donaldson of Eighty Four; his wife, Judith E. Shronovich Donaldson whom he married May 4, 1963; a daughter, Erica N. Donaldson of Austin, Texas; a sister, Janet Lee Donaldson Harpster of O’Brien, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will b e received in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main St., Bentleyville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 8, until 10 a.m.
Rebecca D. Feeney
Rebecca Dennison Feeney, 91, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, November 4, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
She was born February 2, 1909, in Coolspring, Pa., daughter of Sullivan Dennison and Phoebe Wigfield Dennison.
Mrs. Feeney was a member of St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and a graduate of the former North Union High School Class of 1927.
Her husband, James Sheridan Feeney, died June 29, 1979. Also deceased are six brothers and her parents.
She is survived by three sons: James Eugene Feeney of Louisville, Kentucky, Richard Feeney and his wife, Angela Soom Feeney, of Middletown, Pa., and Mark Feeney of Hamburg, Pa.; two daughters: Janet Glover and Judith Lemansky and her husband, Michael Lemansky, all of Uniontown, Pa.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, November 8, until 9 a.m. at which time a Prayer Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, with Rev. Fr. William Keil as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.

Walter E. Gray
Walter E. Gray, 79, of Haydentown, Smithfield, Pa., died Saturday, November 4, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born January 17, 1921, in Weedsville, Pa., son of Roy Logan Gray and Rose Swaney Gray.
His brother, Ralph Gray, sisters, Keturah Gray and Floella Gray Schaberl, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Georgia Campbell Gray; three daughters: Janet and her husband, John Campbell, of Oliphant, Pa., Wanda and her husband, Dave Greenawalt, of Richlands, North Carolina, and Tina and her husband, Jeff Machosky, of Haydentown, Pa.; a stepson, James D. Absher and his wife, Linda, of Fairchance, Pa.; brothers: Edwin Logan Gray and his wife, Beverly, of Weedsville, Pa., and Ray Alvin Gray and his wife, Louise, of Smithfield; five grandchildren: D.D. McConahay Wade and her husband, Ray Wade, Kelli Whoolery, Tyler Greenawalt, Victoria Campbell, Amber Machosky; and two great-grandchildren: Chasidy Jo Hileman and Lexus Wade.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 WEST CHURCH STREET, FAIRCHANCE, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, November 7, 2000, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. George W. McLaughlin officiating.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
William J. Hoffman
William J. Hoffman, 85, of Clarksville, Pa., who was born in Rockville Center, Long Island, New York, retired Advertising Manager for Newsday and also The Long Island Catholic, died Sunday, November 5, 2000, at his home.
He is survived by five children: William Hoffman of Minneapolis, Minn., Joseph Hoffman of Plantation, Fla., Patricia Hoffman Paschette and Margaret Hoffman Parker both of Cooper City, Fla., and Jean Hoffman Morris of Clarksville with whom he made his home for the last several years; brothers: John Hoffman of Riverhead, New York, and Gerrard Hoffman of Florida; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Hoffman will be private for the family.
Arrangements are under direction of the Greenlee Funeral Home, Bank and Crawford Roads, Fredericktown, Pa.
Marie DeSellems Lewis
Marie A. DeSellems Lewis, 94, of California, Pa., died Sunday, November 5, 2000.
She was born May 20, 1906, in Fallowfield Township, Washington County, Pa., daughter of John R. DeSellems and Ada Mae Jacobs DeSellems.
She was a member of United Christian Church, Malden Crossroads, and past Chairperson of the Democratic Committee.
Her husband of 47 years, Evan J. Lewis Sr., died in 1977. Also deceased are two children, Adam Owen Lewis and Sandra Lewis, 15 brothers and sisters, and her parents.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Norman Hunt, of California, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Evan and Nancy Lewis of Fairfax, Virginia; sister, Aline Torres of Carroll Township, Washington County, Pa.; two grandchildren: Evan Lewis III and Jacki Tessmer; and two great-grandchildren: Meridith Lewis and Adam Tessmer.
Friends will be received at the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held in United Christian Church, Malden Crossroads, on Wednesday, November 8, at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to United Christian Church Building fund or the Center-in-the-Woods.
