Joseph C. Shillings, 82, of Main Street, Braden, Clarksville, Pa., died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at 10 a.m. in his home.

Wilbur W. Williams
Wilbur W. "Kite" Williams, 76, of South Connellsville, Pa., died Saturday, November 25, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 25, 1924, in Elm Grove, Pa., the son of Harry S. Williams and Myrtle Brooks Williams.
Kite was a Veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army in the European Theatre. He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and also a member of AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa.
Prior to his retirement he worked as an N.T.R. Setup Man for Anchor Hocking Corporation Plant 15 and he was also a GBBA Retiree.
Kite was currently the elected Pennsylvania State Constable of South Connellsville Borough. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Constables and the Pennsylvania State Constables of Fayette County.
He was a certified agent for the Lethal Weapons Training Act, a certified Constable under Act 44, and a Special Deputy Sheriff for the Sheriff’s Department of Fayette County.
He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association and the Pennsylvania Commission of Crime and Delinquency Association.
Kite was a member of Albright United Methodist Church in South Connellsville and was a member of the Church Council and also formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Kite formerly served on the South Connellsville Borough Council.
He was a member of King Solomon’s Lodge No. 346 F.&A.M.;, Royal Arch Chapter No. 283, Olivet Council No. 13, St. Omer’s Commandry No. 7, Royal & Selected Masters of Pennsylvania, Knights Templar of Uniontown, and the Scottish Rite Lodge of Uniontown.
Kite was a member of South Connellsville Rod & Gun Club, Juniata Sportsman’s Club, and the National Rifle Association.
He was a Life Member of the Monarch Volunteer Fire Department and the Fayette County Fireman’s Association.
He was also a member of the Independent Slovak Citizens Club in Connellsville.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Lucille Richter Williams, a sister, Ruth Rhodes, brothers, Russell, Lloyd, Donald, and Harry "Bud" Williams, a great-granddaughter, Holly Noll Williams, and his parents.
Kite is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Jane Moore Fisher Williams; his son, Larry Williams and his wife, Judi, of Monarch, Pa.; his daughter, Sharon and her husband, Ron Fogle, of Connellsville; his stepsons: Terry Fisher and his wife, Sandy, of Schillington, Pa., Donald Fisher and his wife, Brenda, of Concord, Virginia, and Randy Fisher of South Connellsville; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Williams and his wife, Bridget, of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; his sisters: Laura Fulton of Vanderbilt, Pa., Elsie Bosley of Newton, Pa., Betty Thompson and Agnes Coughenour both of Connellsville, Pa., LaQuita and her husband, Regis Frankhouser, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., and Juanita Leapline of Bitner, Pa.; his sisters-in-law: Leatrice Williams of Lemont Furnace, Stephanie Williams of Connellsville, and Margaret Williams of Little Summit, Pa.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 29, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Byron Tate Fulton officiating.
A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post 103.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the Wilbur W. "Kite" Williams Memorial Fund.
Memorial contributions will be given to Kite’s favorite charities.
King Solomon’s Lodge No. 346 F.&A.M.; will conduct a service in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Mary Lou Boltze Adams
Mary Lou Boltze Adams, 38, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Saturday, March 24, 2001, in her home.
She was born November 24, 1962, in Charleroi, Pa., daughter of Eugene Boltze and Hilda Kidder Boltze of Perryopolis.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Frazier High School in Perryopolis and enrolled at The Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in Charleroi, Pa.
She was a member of Fairview Methodist Chapel and a volunteer with the Frazier Band Boosters.
In addition to her parents she is survived by two sons: Jeffery Adams and Matthew Adams both at home; paternal great-grandmother, Katherine C. Boltze of Bradenton, Florida; three sisters: Miss Gene Marie Boltze of Grindstone, Pa., LuAnn Boltze of Dawson, Pa., and Mrs. Ronald (Katherine) Petrosky of Perryopolis, Pa.; several aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, March 28, until 1 p.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Brock R. Beveridge officiating.
Interment will follow in Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery, Vanderbilt R.D.1.

Tony J. Albright, 22, of Jones Mills, Pa., died Friday, March 23, 2001, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia, following a two-car accident at 5:30 p.m. in Henry Clay Township, Fayette County.
He is survived by his parents, Norma M. Shroyer Shafer and her husband, Dennis R. Shafer (stepfather) of Acme R.D.1, Pa., and Randall Albright; his sister, Niccole Shafer; stepsister, Kati Shafer of Kecksburg, Pa.; maternal grandparents: Esther Schroyer of Normalville, Pa., and Cecil Ritenour of Connellsville, Pa.; and the love of his life, Holly Lytle of Jones Mills.
Arrangements are under direction of the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt.
James N. Bird Sr.
James N. Bird Sr., 63, of Farmington, Pa., went to be with his Lord and Savior from UPMC-Montefiore, Pittsburgh, with his family at his side on Saturday, March 24, 2001.
He was born June 19, 1937, in Markleysburg, Pa., son of Demerit E. Bird Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Wisecupp Bird.
He was a Truck Driver all of his life and was employed with B&L; Trucking in Uniontown.
A sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Savage and husband, Eugene, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert C. Bird and wife Irene and William Bird, and his parents preceded him in death.
James is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marjorie Fike Bird; two children: James N. Bird Jr. and his fiancee, Lena Gibson, and Vicki Sue Bales and her husband, Roy T. Bales, all of Farmington; five grandchildren: Laura Bales, Holly Bales, Matthew Bales, Andrew Bird and Adam Bird; two brothers: Jack Bird of Ohio and Samuel Bird and his wife, Nancy, of Strongsburg, Pa.; a sister, Doris Friend and her husband, Huston, of Markleysburg; several nieces and nephews; and many friends who loved him very much and will sadly miss him!

Julia M. Jordan Bowman, 78, of Ruffsdale, Pa., a graduate in the Class of 1940 from the former Ramsay High School in Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, in Latrobe Area Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Frank Bowman and his wife, Doris, of Ruffsdale; grandchildren: Charles Albert Bowman and his wife, Stacy, Jennifer Lynn Bowman Wadsworth and her husband, Heath Wadsworth, and Kenneth Marsh and his wife, Rita; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Virginia Jordan Sedlacko of Irwin, Pa., and Marcella Jordan Kattera and her husband, Richard Kattera, of Mount Pleasant; one niece and two nephews.

Helen Dolores "Dee" Huber Cain
Helen Dolores "Dee" Huber Cain, 67, of California, Pa., died Saturday, March 24, 2001.
She was born March 21, 1934, in Phillipsburg, Pa., daughter of Harry Huber Sr. and Helen Reparsky Huber.
Dee was a member of California United Christian Church and Monessen Chapter No. 205 Order of the Eastern Star.
Her daughter, Tracie Hockman, brother, Harry Huber Jr., ex-husband, John Cain, and her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Barbara Cain; son-in-law, Donald Hockman; a brother, John White; two sisters: Ethel McKeon and Irene LeJohn; and grandchildren: Anastasia Nicole Gauden, Cody Lynn Cain, Jerry Hockman, and Seth Hockman.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, at 11 a.m. in United Christian Church with Rev. Art Mace officiating.

Maxine Barnett Cree
Maxine Barnett Cree, 79, of Glasgow, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 22, 2001, in Altoona Hospital, Altoona, Pa.
She was born February 15, 1922, in Punxsutawney, Pa., daughter of
Rev. Arthur Lee Barnett and Bessie Dobson Barnett.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Cree; three sons: Robert Cree and his wife, Barbara, George Cree and his wife, Judy, and Gene Cree and his wife, Linda; several grandchildren; two sisters: Viola Brandstetter of Yukkon, Pa., and Sarah Jane Abbott of Madison, Pa.; two brothers: Charles Barnett and his wife, Anna Jane, of Coalport, Pa., and James D. Barnett (owner of the James D. Barnett Funeral Home in Uniontown) and his wife, Peggy L., of Uniontown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing and Services were held in the McQUOWN FUNERAL HOME, Glasgow, Pa., on Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m.

Leota D. Greenwood, 79, of Blainesburg, and formerly of Penn Craft, Pa., passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at her residence.
Funeral Service were held Friday, March 23, in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem.
Interment followed in Acklin Cemetery, Hopewell Road, Brownsville, Pa.
Robert L. Griffin
Robert L. Griffin, 51, of Dilliner, Pa., died Friday, March 23, 2001, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born December 29, 1949, in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was a son of Sanford Griffin and Virginia Hart Griffin.
He was a 1968 graduate of Mapletown High School, formerly employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator in area strip mines, and a member of United Mine Workers of America, F.O.E. No. 1932 in Point Marion, Bobtown Polish Club, and the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by two sons: Darel P. Griffin of Carbondale, Pa., and Guy J. Griffin of Smithfield, Pa.; daughter, Kelly J. Ankrom of Waynesburg, Pa.; grandchildren: Gage Griffin, Reid Griffin, Lexus Griffin; a sister, M. Jaretta Faust of Carlsbad, New Mexico; a brother, Sanford Griffin of Smithfield; nieces and nephews.
