Thelma Honeycheck
Thelma Honeycheck, 79, of West Brownsville, Pa., died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in Brownsville General Hospital.
She was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Smock, Pa., daughter of the late John and Katherine Yanek Scott (Tkac).
She was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa., the St. Peter’s Christian Mothers, the Catholic Daughters of America and the W.B. Civic Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Honeycheck; a brother, Stephen Scott; and a sister, Verona Corfont.
Surviving are her children, Alice and husband Melvin Lacey of Brownsville, Pa., and John Honeycheck Jr., of West Brownsville, Pa.; grandchildren, Erika and husband, Randal Ranka of Germany, and Paul Louis Scott of Brownsville, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Carly Ranka of Germany; and sisters, Eleanor Sirilla of Monongahela, Pa., and Irma Klemovich of New Jersey.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in the Historic Church of St. Peter’s of Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park. The Christian Mothers and CD of A will recite the Rosary today at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Thomas W. Kordich Sr.
Thomas W. Kordich Sr., 70, of Allison, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Brownsville, Pa., and grew up in Royal, Pa., the son of the late Daniel and Anna Kubitza Kordich.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Brownsville, Pa.
Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and worked for General Motors in West Mifflin, Pa., for 44 ½ years. He was also an Allison No. 1 baseball coach.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rose Mary Duda Kordich; four children, Thomas Jr., and wife, Cindy Kordich of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Martha and husband, Thomas Hunter of Keisterville, Pa., Chuck Kordich and fiancée Jamie Petrone and daughter, Ashley of Uniontown, Pa., and Anna Kordich and fiancée Brian Deyling of Independence, Ohio; four grandchildren, Adam Thomas Kordich and Brianna Hunter, and twins, Derek John and Joshua Thomas Deyling; brothers, Paul and Stephen Kordich of Ohio; a sister, Martha Kordich of Brownsville, Pa., an aunt, Margaret Kubitza of Brownsville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel and his twin brother, John.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m., where a Panachida Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., followed by Divine Liturgy at noon in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Jerome Botsko as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park. Mary L. Kotarsky
Mary L. Kotarsky, 88, of Cape Flora, Fla., formerly of Arnold City, Belle Vernon, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in Cape Coral Hospital, Cape Coral, Fla.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Bedsworth Hersh of Cape Coral, Fla.; a niece; and a nephew.
Visitation will be held, in the Chapel of Belle Vernon Cemetery, on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at noon, the hour of service.
James G. Mitchell
James Greggory Mitchell, 13, of Ralph, Pa., passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at home.
James was a home-schooled sixth grade student.
He is survived by his mother, Melissa Mitchell; two sisters, Krystal Daugherty and Katrina Mitchell; three brothers, Wesley Patrick, David Dillinger II, and Jeremiah Dillinger; and his stepfather, David Dillinger Sr.

Sara E. Mitchell
Sara (Sally) Elizabeth Keffer Mitchell, 87, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Bridgeport, died Sunday in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant.
One son, Norman Heller, and one daughter, Donna Marie Keffer Heller, both of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two sisters, Dorothy Snedden of New Stanton and Lil Rhodes of Mount Pleasant, survive her.
Friends will be received at Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
William Roebuck
William "Bill" Roebuck, 56, of Simi Valley, Calif., formerly of East Millsboro R.D. 1, Pa., died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Encino, Calif.
He was self-employed as a tile layer by trade.
He was born Feb. 25, 1944, in New Kensington, Pa., and was the son of Anna Roebuck of East Millsboro R.D. 1, and the late Stanley F. Roebuck.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Rose Chrobak and Michael and Anna Pitlock.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Gloria of Simi Valley, Calif.; sons, Billy at home and Eric and Darren, both of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Stanley "Mike" Roebuck and wife, Loretta of East Millsboro R.D. 1; and sisters, Shirley Gemas and husband, Wayne of Elkhart Lake, Wis., Patty Johnson and husband, Andrew of Grindstone R.D. 1, and Arlene Sigwalt and husband, Raymond of New Salem.
Services were held at the Reardon Simi Valley Mortuary, Simi Valley, Calif., on Nov. 15, 2000. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, in Pennsylvania.
Robert E. Schwenk
Robert E. Schwenk, 70, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1930, in Perryopolis, son of the late Carl and Elizabeth Radus Schwenk.
Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, past president of the Holy Name Society, past president of St. Vincent’s DePaul, Past Grand Knight of Perryopolis Knights of Columbus Council 4427, and former S.M.E. He was Head Usher for St. John’s Church, past president of St. John’s Parish Council and Past Councilman for the Boro of Perryopolis. Robert was a member of Deanery 6 Diocese of Greensburg.
Robert was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of V.F.W. Goldstar Post 7023, and American Legion 752 of Perryopolis, a life member of Fayette Chapter of Disabled American Veterans 58 of Uniontown, where he served as Chaplain. He was also a member of The Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 354 of Youngwood, Pa.
Surviving are his wife, Marcella Rabatin Schwenk; one daughter, Sharon Schwenk Kitta of Perryopolis, Pa.; one son, Damien Schwenk of Star Junction, Pa.; one granddaughter, Andrea Kitta of Perryopolis, Pa.; three brothers, Carl Schwenk and wife, Christina of Richmond, Va., Ronald Schwenk and wife, Cecelia of Olmsted Township, Ohio, and Eugene Schwenk of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Donna) Hruby of Monongahela, Pa., and Mrs. James (Betty Lou) Fonderliest of Novelty, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Schwenk.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence St., Perryopolis, today from 2 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m., in the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Fr. John T. Euker as celebrant and the Rev.Fr. James F. Petrovsky as con-celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Perryopolis. A Wake Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Graveside military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Goldstar Post 7023 and American Legion 752 of Perryopolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, or to St. John’s Church, Perryopolis, Pa.
Dorothy Underwood
Dorothy (Hollowood) Underwood, 82, of Malden, California, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
She is a retired teacher from the Beth Center school district, with 33 years of service.
Surviving are two brothers, Edwin Hollowood of Waynesburg, and Tom Hollowood of California, Pa.;
There will be no visitation or viewing. Arrangements are under the direction of the Greenlee Funeral Home, Route 40, Beallsville. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Anna Mary Vail
Anna Mary Boyd Vail, 61, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown.
She was born Aug. 10, 1939, in Shamrock, Pa., daughter of the late James and Marjorie Reynolds Boyd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Mary and Joseph Boyd and Thomas Hugh.
Anna Mary was a lifetime member of the New Salem Presbyterian Church of New Salem, where she served as an Ordained Elder, Sunday School teacher, Choir member, Past Moderator of Presbyterian Women, and she had also been very faithful in her duties of serving dinner to members of the Rotary Club, who had met at the church. She also served as Past Moderator of Presbyterian Women of Redstone Presbytery.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Vail; her daughter, Christiana B. Vail, at home; one sister, Dorothy and her husband, Richard Barnes of New Philadelphia, Ohio; two brothers, George Boyd of Bloomington, Ind., and James Boyd and his wife, Elaine of Shamrock, Pa.; her aunt, Catherine Hugh of Gaithersburg, Md.; her cousin, Noralee Boyd Manzek and her husband, Joseph of Bethlehem, Pa.; and two nieces, Amanda and Jessie and one nephew, Matthew.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today from 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., no visitation on Thursday, and on Friday from 11 a.m. until noon. Services will then be held at 12:30 p.m., in the New Salem Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Holly Puett officiating. Interment will follow in Salem View Cemetery, New Salem. Jesse C. Wilson
Jesse C. Wilson, 72, of Stoney Point Road, Uniontown, Pa., passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown.
He was born May 14, 1928, in Alicia, Pa., son of the late Percy and Nellie M. Long Wilson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn P. Wilson.
Jesse was retired from Bell-Atlantic, was a veteran of World War II, having served with the 34th Infantry in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, Uniontown, and the I.O.O.F. 51 of Brownsville.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Stewart Wilson; his son, James C. Wilson of Beaumont, Texas; his daughter, Cynthia J. and her husband, James Kumor of Aurora, Ill.; three grandchildren, Stefan, Clarissa and Kali Kumor; and two sisters, Norma McFerin of Brownsville, and Mrs. Fay Lois Scott of Little Genessee, N.Y.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
There will be no visitation on Thursday. Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at 9 a.m., in the funeral home, with Pastor William Rodahaver and the Rev. Robert Ford co-officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Third Presbyterian Church, Uniontown, or to the Uniontown Public Library.

Michael M. Fartini
Michael M. Fartini, 61, of Newell, Pa., who was born in New York, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at his home.
He is survived by his mother, Aurelia Danbury Fartini; his wife, Cynthia Hartsock Fartini; children: Michael Fartini and his wife, Robin, of Newell, Chad Fartini and his wife, Debbie, of Dunlevy, Pa., Clint Fartini and his wife, Dana, of Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, Jason Fartini and Nicholas Fartini both at home, Janetta Fartini Rosensteel and her husband, Bryan Rosensteel, of Newell, Michelle Fartini Hamilton and her husband, Thomas Hamilton, of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Aurelia Fartini of McKees Rocks, Pa.; sisters: Aurelia Fartini and Alberta Fartini; and 19 grandchildren.
