Dorcas Maddox
Dorcas Maddox, 101, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, in Washington, D.C.
She was born June 9, 1900, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late Walter Stanton and Sarah Cheatum Stanton.
She was the Mother of Antioch Baptist Church of Edenborn, Pa., where she had been a member for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. William Maddox.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Helen Smith of Washington, D.C., Shirley Davis and Lynnell Blyden, both of Maryland, and Minnie Yarborough of Pennsylvania; nephews, Randolph King of Washington, D.C., and Lewis Davis of Oxon Hill, Md.; devoted friends, Florence Overton, Yvonne Pratt, Geraldine Robinson and Laura B. Lewis; and great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the Antioch Baptist Church of Edenborn, Pa., on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Solomon Dotson and the Rev. Howard Amos officiating. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. Arrangements are under the direction of the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main St., Uniontown, Pa.

John Melvin Molenock
John Melvin Molenock, 68, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, July 29, 2001, in his residence.
He was born February 5, 1933, in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pa., son of John Molenock and Helen Glover Molenock.
John was a Farmer in Georges Township all of his life.
His parents and a brother, Phillip Molenock, preceded him in death.
He is survived by three very close cousins: John T. Jenkins of Oliphant Furnace, Pa., Barry Jenkins of Smithfield, Pa., and Jim Glover of Cleveland, Ohio; and an uncle, Willard (Pappy) Glover of Uniontown.
Friends will be received in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Russ Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.

Arthur N. Moncini
Arthur N. Moncini, 83, of Monessen, Pa., died Sunday, July 29, 2001, in Mon Valley Hospital.
He had owned and operated A. Moncini Beer Distributing with his brother, Reno, and was the owner/operator of Moncini Trucking.
Surviving are his wife, Mary J. Antonucci Moncini; two daughters and their spouses, Mrs. Richard (Marinell) Brettel of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. William (Roslyn) Munsch of Franklin Park; a son and his wife, Raymond and Maxine Moncini of Southington, Conn., four granddaughters; and a brother, Reno Moncini of Monessen.
Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, Pa., a Golden Rule Funeral Home, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., the hour of services, in the funeral home.

Eleanor M. Moreland
Eleanor M. "Matt" Moreland, 87, of Belpre, Ohio, formerly of Connellsville, died July 26, at Heartland of Marietta.
She is survived by one son, Robert Mongell of Belpre; two brothers, James Stillwagon of Connellsville and Allen Stillwagon of Mill Run; two sisters, Evelyn Miller and Betty McCoy, both of Connellsville; two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Paul G. Fink Funeral Home, 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, today at 6 p.m. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

Frank L. Muzika
Frank L. Muzika, 77, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., died Sunday evening, July 29, 2001, in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Amend, Pa., son of the late George and Mary (Rampascek) Muzika.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertrude Stiner, Elizabeth Brain and Anna Beachy; and a brother, Joseph Honza.
Frank was a lifetime member of St. Cecelia Roman Catholic Church, where he was a nine-year member of the parish council, and also a member of the Holy Name Society.
He was co-founder of the Laurel Highlands midget football league, where he held the office of president for 13 seasons, a member of the LH Wrestling Association, a committeeman for Boy Scouts of America, was the past president of the Laurel Highlands Football Parents Association, was a member of the St. Vincent development club, the Mon Valley Sportswriter Association, a life member of the North Union VFW Post 8543, AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, the American Legion Post 51, a life member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1669, where he has been commander since 1983, served two terms as State Commander and was also the 20th Chapter Commander CWV, was the past Fayette County Commander of the VFW, was a St. Sebastian award recipient, was active in community and Veteran affairs, was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army Amphion Corp. He served in New Guinea and Luzon campaigns. He received the American Theater, Asiatic-Pacific Theater, two Bronze Service Stars, one Bronze Service Star medal for Philippine liberation, was a technician 4th grade, was commended for admirable performance of duty in a convoy for Manila to Abu lug Luzon. He served in the 544-engineer boat in shore regiment. He was also an operator of amphibious landing crafts.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years, Anna Rose Nepa Muzika; the following children, Ted Muzika and wife, Karen of Uniontown, Frank Muzika Jr., and wife, Trish of Murraysville, Pa., George Muzika and wife, Maryanne of Uniontown, Ed Muzika and wife, Kim of Spartanburg, S.C., Dr. Rose Marie Muzika and husband, Kevin Hosman of Ashland, Mo., John Muzika of Lemont Furnace, Mary Ann Muzika of Lemont Furnace, Bill Muzika and wife, Shannon of Juneau, Alaska, Regina MacDowell and husband, Jay of Ninevah, Pa., and Christina Yanik and husband, Todd of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Resh of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Evelyn Marano of Fairchance, and Dolores Greeley of Lemont Furnace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME at 71 Pennsylvania Ave., Uniontown, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown. (The family asks that everyone attending the Funeral Mass to please meet directly at church. No visitation will be held, in the funeral home, on Thursday morning.) Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Sylvan Heights Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held this evening at 8 p.m. Catholic War Veterans will hold services on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. Military services will be accorded at the Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic War Veterans Memorial Fund, c/o Catholic War Veterans, 157 E. Main St., Uniontown 15401.

Gwendolyn D. Nicholson
Gwendolyn D. Nicholson, 90, of Bethel Park, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, July 30, 2001.
She was born in Frostburg, Md., on Aug. 14, 1910, the daughter of the late Grace (Filer) and John Densmore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; and one great-grandson, Joshua Schroeder.
She is the mother of John G. (Judy) Nicholson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Linda F. and the late Wayne Struble of Bethel Park; sister of Alex W. Densmore of Frostburg, Md., and the late Jane Harrison, John, William and Ernest; grandmother of Scott and Steve Nicholson, Paige Granville, Heather Sprnisa, Lisa Struble, Jennifer Kendra and Rachel Schroeder; and ten great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nicholson was a retired schoolteacher in the Laurel Highlands school district for 29 years. She graduated in 1931, from Frostburg State University.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, O.E.S. No. 263, and the Margaret E. Caven White Shrine both of Union, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and was a lifetime member of both International Retired Teachers’ Association, and the PA Retired Public School Employees Association.
Visitation will be held in the DAVID J. HENNEY FUNERAL HOME, 6364 Library Rd. (Route 88), Library, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., in the Peeler Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park.

Anna E. O’Brien
Anna E. (Budner) O’Brien, 95, of Penn Avenue, Masontown, Pa., died Monday, July 30, 2001, in Coville Nursing Home, Masontown.
She was born July 10, 1906, in Liberty, Pa., daughter of the late John and Mary (Goldberger) Budner.
She was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic of Masontown, a member of Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and a life member of CDA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael O’Brien, in 1981; three brothers, Andy, Joseph and Stephen Budner; three sisters, Helen Gillock, Catherine Panek and Mary Stewart; a grandson, George Michael Homa; and great-grandchildren, Michael Onesko and Jessica Cordey.
Surviving are two sons, Michael O’Brien of Richfield, Ohio, and John O’Brien and wife, Janet of Parma, Ohio; three daughters, Mary Homa and husband, George of Masontown, Patricia Onesko and husband, Michael of Westlake, Ohio, and Rita Paroda and husband, Stephen of Brunswick, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; the following sisters, Agnes Engle of New York, Josephine "Jo" Budner of Uniontown, and Dorothy Kenney of Alabama; and a brother, John Budner of Eastlake, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River Avenues, Masontown, today from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., in All Saints R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary on Wednesday at 3 p.m. CDA will hold ritualistic services on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Donations may be made to All Saints Church or Albert Gallatin Hospice.

Howard A. Overly
Howard A. Overly, 72, of Mount Pleasant R.D. 5 died Sunday in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Aultman Overly; a daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Dorie) Gallanher of Roswell, Ga., and two sisters.
Friends will be received at Brooks Funeral Home, 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant, today from 2 to 9 p.m.

Angelina Pounds
Angelina Pounds, 72, of Connellsville, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 30, 2001. She passed away peacefully at home with her caregiver and friends, Viola Nicholson and Kathy Meyers by her side.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Fetko of Connellsville; a nephew; a son, Roy Pounds of Little Summit, Pa.; and a grandson, Jacob.
Friends will be received in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home Inc., 418 North Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday at 10 a.m., the hour of service.

Mary A. Psotka
Mary A. Psotka, 96, of West Brownsville, Pa., died Sunday, July 29, 2001, in Brownsville General Hospital.
She was born Feb. 1, 1905, in Brownsville, Pa., daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Kohut.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark J. Psotka; a daughter, Genevieve Haberecht; a sister, Theresa Tomecsko; and two brothers, Paul and Joseph Kohut.
She is survived by five children, Mary Kidon of West Brownsville, Pa., Dorothy Sabatine of Monroeville, Pa., Theresa Psotka and Connie Psotka both of West Brownsville, and Mark J. Psotka Jr. of Willoughby, Ohio; three grandchildren, Terry Sabatine, Jeffrey Sabatine and Gregory Dati; and several nieces.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in St. Mary’s R.C. Church of Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. John Szezesny as celebrant. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. St. Mary’s Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary this evening at 7 p.m. A Wake Service will be held this evening at 8:30 p.m.

G. Howard Rolison
G. Howard Rolison, 72, of Charleroi, Pa., died Sunday, July 29, 2001, in the Presbyterian Senior Care in Washington, Pa.
He was born May 25, 1929, in Monessen, the son of the late Samuel and Hallie Thomas Rolison.
Mr. Rolison was a graduate of Perryopolis High School, Class of 1947, and of the University of Pittsburgh where he received his B.S. degree in Business Administration and Management.
He was a member of the Charleroi Presbyterian Church, a member of the church choir, the Session, the Gleaners Class, a deacon and a trustee of the church, the Mon Valley Chordsman, and a member of the Toastmasters.
He also taught business courses at the Northern Campus of West Virginia University, and was a volunteer for the Mon Valley Literacy Program.
Mr. Rolison served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he was a supervisor in the management and training division.
He is survived by his wife, Norma DiRocco Rolison; two daughters: Kathy Lynn Hega and her husband, Steve of North Charleroi, Pa., and Robyn Rolison-Hanna and her husband, Albert A. of Rostraver Township; three sisters, June Kathleen Rolison of Perryopolis, Glenna Nassar of Dover, Del., and Hallie (Sistie) Robertson of Dearborn, Mich.; and five grandchildren: Morgan Samantha Neil, Zachery Rolison Neil, Rachel Elizabeth Hega, Stephen Baptist Hega and Nathan Rolison Hega.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Rolison Neil; and three brothers, Charles Rolison, Samuel Edward Rolison Jr., and William Thomas Rolison.
Friends will be received in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 226 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., in the Charleroi Presbyterian Church. Services are being conducted by the Rev. Francis M. Blair and the Rev. James F. Giesey.
Interment will be in the Monongahela Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
