Elsie T. Kurtz, 99, of 2499 Zerbe Rd., Narvon, formerly of Meadville Rd., Gap, died Saturday evening, April 30, 2005 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross V. Kurtz in 1988. Born in West Brandywine Twp., Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Anna Thomas Trupe. A homemaker, she had also worked for a short period of time at the former Victor F. Weaver, Inc., New Holland. Surviving are two grandsons: Ross Houck and Gary Houck, four great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her daughter, K. Virginia Houck. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 from 1 to 2 PM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with burial to follow in Pequea Presbyterian Cemetery. Edith M. Weaver, 91, of 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, formerly of New Holland, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Landis Homes, after a short illness. Born in Blue Ball, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Emma Nolt Martin. Her husband, Victor F. Weaver, died in 1989. She helped her husband start and develop Victor F. Weaver Inc., a poultry firm, starting in 1937, now a part of Tyson Foods. She was a life long member of Weaverland Mennonite Church where she was active in the sewing circle. She also crocheted afghans for the children’s program at Philhaven Hospital, Mount Gretna. Surviving is a son, Dale M., marriage to Irene Martin Weaver of New Holland; a daughter, Janet W., marriage to Larry W. Newswanger of Landisville; six grandchildren, Dawn M. Isley, Sue A. Weaver, Tina Weaver, Greg L. Newswanger, Randy W. Newswanger, and Kendall S. Newswanger; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Allen N. Martin of Landis Homes, and Lester H., marriage to Lois Martin of Elizabethtown; and a sister, Grace N. Good of Garden Spot Village. Preceding her in death are four sisters, Edna Nolt, Mary Burkholder, Irene Martin, and Emma Landis. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Weaverland Mennonite Church, East Earl, with Bishop C. Kenneth Martin, the Reverend Earl Weaver, the Reverend Donald Good, and Retired Bishop Aaron Hollinger officiating. Interment in adjoining Cemetery on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call on Monday at the Landis Homes East Bethany Chapel from 3-4 p.m. and at the West Bethany Chapel on Monday 6-8 p.m. Family will receive friends immediately following the service on Tuesday at the Church. Pearl Stoltzfus Koenig, 42, of 388 Staver Rd., Reinholds, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Hospice of Lancaster County following a nine-month illness. Born in Harrisonburg, VA, she was the daughter of Merle G. and Esther Kurtz Stoltzfus of Elverson. Pearl worked in the Human Resources Department of Four Seasons Produce and was a member of the Ephrata Area Grace Brethren Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by three children: Scott Koenig, Pamplin, VA; Mark Koenig and Sheri Koenig, both of Reinholds; a brother, Craig Stoltzfus, Elverson and two sisters: Christine King, Pamplin, VA and Rose Tursack, Glenmoore. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 10 AM at Conestoga Mennonite Church, Rt. 23, Morgantown with Pastor Kim Robertson and Pastor Ira Kurtz officiating. Interment in the adjoining Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Evelyn G. Fake, 90, of 2499 Zerbe Road, Narvon, formerly of California Road, Morgantown, and Huyard Ave, New Holland, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Alice (Longenecker) Marks. Her step mother was Eva (Kabbellas) Marks. Her husband, Paul A. Fake, died July 7, 1977. She was a 1933 graduate of the West Reading High School. She worked for several years at the Berkshire Hosiery Mill along with other sewing factories. She was a member of St. John Center Lutheran Church and the Col. Jacob Morgan American Legion. Surviving are a step-daughter, Mary Rebecca, marriage to Russell Wallace of New Holland; three step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were a brother, Earl Marks; and three sisters, Dorothy Bouchat, Ruth Savage, and Ethel Marks. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20 at 11 am at St. John Center Lutheran Church, 599 Reading Road, East Earl, PA 17519 with the Reverend Robert Kramer officiating. Allan Robert Ishler, 49, of Bear, DE, died unexpectedly at home on June 14, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Emily (Doering) Ishler on March 31, 2006. Born in Bellefonte, PA, he was the son of Thomas W. and Marjorie A. (Turner) Ishler of Lancaster, PA. A graduate of Christiana High School, he was currently employed by B. J.’s Wholesale Club. He was a member of the Red Lion United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, gardening and swimming in the ocean. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Thomas marriage to Adele Ishler of San Diego, CA and three sisters: Dianne marriage to Lewis Cass, Spring Hill, FL; Carol marriage to Lee McCormick, New Castle, DE; and Susan marriage to Steve Newton, New Castle, DE. Isaac S. Zook, 90, of 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, formerly of 22 Brubaker Ave., New Holland, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. Born in Ronks, he was the son of the late Isaac F. and Lydia F. (Stoltzfus) Zook. He celebrated his 66th wedding anniversary on Nov. 23 to Bertha E. 'Betty' (Weaver) Zook of Fairmount Homes. Mr. Zook retired in 1973 as a pattern maker for the former Sperry New Holland. After his retirement he worked part time for New Holland Ford for several years. He was a member of the Evangelical Untied Methodist Church in New Holland. He was also an avid camper and a member of the Seesunriseandset camping club in Ephrata. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Wayne L. Zook of Swarthmore; a daughter, Lydia J., marriage to George Stoltzfus of Narvon; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Rebecca Hurst of Ephrata; and a brother, Eli Zook of Leola. Preceding him in death is a son, Harold J. Zook; three brothers, Aaron, Christ, and Noah Zook; and two sisters, Rachel and Sarah Zook. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16 at 11 am at Fairmount Homes, Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata. Interment will be in the Evangelical United Methodist Cemetery. Stella G. Musser, 101, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, PA. She was the wife of the late Allen G. Musser, who passed away June 18, 1974. She was born on December 2, 1904, in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, the daughter of Jacob M. and Hettie Ann Good Weber. She is survived by four daughters: Rachel, wife of Lloyd W. Gingrich, Mercersburg, PA; Ruth, wife of E. Clair Bowman, Denver, PA; Alice, wife of D. Clinton Sauder, Carlisle, PA; and Edith, wife of Conrad Graybill, Narvon, PA; 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Gingrich, two sisters, Katie (Silas Gehman), Nancy (Harvey Horning), a brother, Allen (Katie Good) and a foster brother William Leaman (June Leaman). Stella’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Fairmount Homes for the loving, compassionate care she received during her last days. A member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Stella was for many years an active participant in the work of Bowmansville Mennonite Church Sewing Circle. After her move to Fairmount Homes in 1998, she enjoyed assembling comfort tops, which when completed by Bowmansville Mennonite Sewing Circle, were given to MCC for distribution wherever needed. In the last ten years of her life, she completed over 200 comfort tops each year. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 2 PM at the Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel with Rev. Chester Yoder, Rev. Lloyd Gingrich, and Rev. Wilmer Leaman officiating. Interment will be in the Bowmansville Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the chapel on Wednesday from 1 to 2 PM. Kindly omit flowers.
