Benjamin S. Zeiset, 91, of 1254 Farm Crest Dr., Ephrata, formerly of Churchtown Rd., Narvon, died Friday afternoon at Fairmount Homes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna E. (Arment) Zeiset in 1996. Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Mary (Shirk) and Martin M. Zeiset, Sr. A retired farmer, he provided taxi service to the Amish community until 2005. He was also ordained to Christian Ministry in 1954 at Gehman’s Mennonite Church and later served at Honey Brook Mennonite Church where he was currently a member. Surviving are five children: Ernest marriage to Leona (Martin) Zeiset, Denver; Vernon marriage to Ruth (Stauffer) Zeiset, East Earl; Clair marriage to Esther (Bowman) Zeiset, New Holland; Malinda marriage to Sam Oberholtzer, Akron; Ervin marriage to Ruth Ann (Eberly) Zeiset, Mohnton; a daughter-in-law, Grace (High) Zeiset, East Earl; 18 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie Zeiset; two sons: Jesse and Benjamin F. Zeiset; two grandsons; three brothers and 12 half-brothers and sisters. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 9:30 AM at Honey Brook Mennonite Church. Interment will be in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. Richard K. Putt, 81, of 326 Ada Dr., Birdsboro, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Reading Hospital. Born in Robesonia, he was the son of the late William and Ida (Krick) Putt. His wife, Betty L. (Gutacker) Putt, died Nov. 6, 2005. Richard worked for many years as a driver and salesman for Maier’s Bakery in Reading. He was a member of Hopewell Christian Fellowship in Elverson and a former member of QUI-CO Radio League in Reading and also the Berkshire Camping Club. He enjoyed camping, crocheting, and knitting. He was a certified locksmith and years ago he repaired radios and TV’s. Surviving are four children, James W., marriage to Patricia (Lutz) Putt of Canton, GA, Patricia A., marriage to Gary Bender of Ephrata, Gloria J., marriage to Christopher Lomas of Reading, and Richard A., marriage to Carol (Nockleby) Putt of Hanover, MD; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, John, marriage to Clara Putt of Vernal, UT, and James, marriage to Rosalie Putt of Wernersville; and a sister, Betty, marriage to John Weber of Sinking Spring. Preceding him in death is a brother, William Putt. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 14 at 3:30 pm at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 2286 Hopewell Road, Elverson, with the Reverend Mark B. Kraybill and the Reverend John Szymanski officiating. Interment in adjoining Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the church on Monday from 2:30 – 3:30 pm. Norman N. Eberly, 90, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, formerly of North Shirk Rd., New Holland, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Garden Spot Village. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Landis) Eberly in 2003. Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Amos S. and Mary (Nolt) Eberly. A retired farmer, he had also worked at Rutt Custom Kitchens and for M. H. Eby, Inc. His hobbies included woodworking and deer hunting. Norman was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and custodian. He was also a member since 1945 of Liberty Fire Company of New Holland, serving as president and trustee. He was also a member of the Lancaster County Zone 3 Fireman’s Association serving as past president. Surviving are his children: Paul L. marriage to Janet (Oberholtzer) Eberly, East Earl; Glenn L. marriage to Sharon (Frankhouser) Eberly, New Holland; Marian L. marriage to George Eisenberger, Willow Street; Joyce L. marriage to Eugene Nolt, Ephrata; Darlene L. marriage to Ronald Lapp, Gap; Karen E. marriage to Robert Frank, New Holland; and Thelma J. Eberly, New Holland; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Alma Eberly, Landis Homes and Viola Weber, Fairmount Homes. He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Eberly; a daughter, Rose Ann Eberly; brothers Leroy and Melvin Eberly; and a sister, Mary Eberly. His funeral will be held on Saturday May 12, 2007at 2 PM at Groffdale Mennonite Church, 68 N. Groffdale Rd., Leola with Pastor Jim Leaman officiating. Dorothy S. Groff

Dorothy S. Groff, 92, of 2000 Cambridge Ave, Wyomissing, formerly of E. Main St., Morgantown, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at The Highlands of Wyomissing after a brief illness. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late W. Albert and Kathryn L. (Large) Schott. Her husband, Russell L. Groff, died in 1995. She is the last of her immediate family but is survived by three nephews, Richard Schott of Perkasie, PA, Raymond Schott of Mechnicsburg, PA, and Francis Underwood of Carrey, NC. Dorothy was a well honored educator and community leader. She was a mathematics teacher and department head for 35 years at Twin Valley High School in Morgantown. In addition to teaching mathematics in the Caernarvon School District, and later Twin Valley, she served in many capacities including Girl’s Basketball Coach, Class Advisor, Drama Coach, and was an innovator of advanced curriculum programs. After retiring, Dorothy remained active in the Twin Valley School District being one of the founders and the first Secretary of the Twin Valley Education Foundation, a non-profit entity created to enrich cultural and educational activities in the Twin Valley area. Her legacy and dedication to the students of the school district lives on in a scholarship which she established in 1997 known as the Dorothy S. Groff Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship is awarded yearly to a Twin Valley senior aspiring to be a mathematics teacher. Dorothy’s passion for teaching, her dedication and commitment to her profession, and her unquestioned competence have touched the lives of thousand of students who will always remember her as 'Mrs. Groff'. Dorothy was one of the founding members of the Morgantown Business Association and was a co-owner of Russett Antiques with her late husband Russell. She served on various boards in Caernarvon Township and also served as a Township Auditor and Census-taker. In addition to her many other varied interests and pursuits, Dorothy also raised championship Bassett hounds, the most beloved of which was named Henry Higgins. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Gibraltar. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, PA with the Reverend Sterling Fritz officiating. Interment will be in the Caernarvon Cemetery, Morgantown. Allen G. Musser

Allen G. Musser, 92, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., E-Summerfielde, Garden Spot Village, New Holland, passed away on May 6, 2007 at Garden Spot Village. Born in Bowmansville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Salome (Gehman) Musser. He was marriage for 66 years to the late Elizabeth G. (Witwer) Musser, who passed away on August 28, 2004. Allen worked on the family farm and at the Berkshire Knitting Mills for 11 years as a full fashion knitter. He later started and operated the Allen G. Musser Inc. appliance and hardware store for more than 30 years. He attended Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, studying knitting machine engineering. He was chairman of the board of Blue Ball National Bank for 9 years, president of the Bowmansville Golden Ager’s Club, a member of Ranck’s U. M. Church where he served as Sunday school teacher of the adult class for 40 years, superintendent for six years, and as a trustee. He was active in the Gideons Association for more than 38 years, speaking in more than 100 churches on behalf of the organization. He served a four-year term on the Brecknock Township school board, including one year as the president. He also served for 10 years as a director of the Ephrata Community Hospital. He was president and chairman of the Bowmansville Sesqui-Centennial committee, a charter member and president of the Garden Spot Lions Club, and a member and president of the Bowmansville Fire Company. He was the host on a Pennsylvania Dutch dialect radio program on Ephrata WSGA for 38 years and on WBYN (formerly WBYO) in Boyertown, and a talk show in the dialect on WPAZ in Pottstown. He started and hosted a weekly Pennsylvania Dutch program on Ephrata cable TV channel 11. He enjoyed traveling, photography, and oil and acrylic painting. Surviving him is a son, Carl V. husband of Rose (Boose) Musser of Denver; a daughter Marion M. wife of Hubert Kranich, Reinholds; a son Richard A. husband of Sharon (Styer) Musser, Jonestown,; 5 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; and sisters Elsie Bowman, Eleanor Hibshman; and brothers Clayton Musser and Elmer Musser. He was preceded in death by brothers, Victor, John, William, Harvey, and Charles Musser; a sister Anna Mary Musser.

Paul M. Sensenig, 95, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Garden Spot Village after a brief illness. Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Isaac G. and Annie Z. (Martin) Sensenig. His wife, Ruth E. (Bowman) Sensenig, died in 1999. Paul retired as District Sales Manager for more than 32 years with Hamilton Equipment in Ephrata. He was a long-time member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland where he served as a trustee and choir member for many years. He was also a long time member of the Bee Tree Hunting Club in Lycoming County and a former member of New Holland Senior Citizens and Blue Ball Sunshine Club. He was also a volunteer for meals-on-wheels. Paul had many fond memories of happy times spent with his family at "Lucky Pine," their mountain home in Lycoming County. Surviving are a daughter, Janet S., marriage to Norm Ziemer of East Earl; a son, Carl B., marriage to Holly H. (Mills) Sensenig of Fairview Village, Montgomery Co.; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Preceding him in death is a daughter, Julianne, who was marriage to James R. Carson of Leola; an infant son, Barry Lee Sensenig; five brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 10:30 am at Garden Spot Village Chapel with the Reverend Eric Ritz officiating. Interment will be at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. Margaret F. Weaver, 97, of 333 Wheatridge Dr., Ephrata, formerly of 124 Akron Road, Ephrata, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. Born in Ephrata Twp., she was the daughter of the late Martin L. and Annie May (Fox) Weaver. She worked as a sewer and folder at area factories and also did domestic work. She was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference. She is the last of her immediate family but is survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are two sisters, Edna F. Weaver, and Alice F. Burkholder; two brothers, Melvin F. Weaver, and Norman F. Weaver; and two half sisters, Annie Eberly, and Catherine Wise. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 am at Fairmount Homes Wheatridge Chapel, 333 Wheatridge Dr., Ephrata, with the Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating.
