Dorothy A. 'Sis' Graybill, 69, of 774 Lancaster Pike, Quarryville, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at her home following a lengthy illness. Dorothy and her husband had owned and operated Graybill Farm Market, in Truce on Rt. 272 for 50 years. She and her husband Melvin B. Graybill had celebrated 50 years of marriage. Dorothy was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Lester and Evelyn Cook Finnefrock. She was a member of the Rawlinsville United Methodist Church, and Robert Fulton Chapter #446 Order of Easter Star where she had served as a past Worthy Matron. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son Richard, marriage to Sherry Graybill of Quarryville, grandchildren Ricky and Danielle, and sister Doris Fite of Quarryville, PA. The Funeral Service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in New Providence Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home on Friday from 6:30-8:00 PM., and one half hour prior to the service Saturday. Robert Fulton Chapter O.E.S. will conduct a service following the viewing at 8:00 P.M. Friday.
Gertrude E. Harman
Gertrude E. Harman, 66, of 944 Hilldale Road, Holtwood, PA died on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at her home of natural causes. She was the wife of Harry Harman. Gertrude was a homemaker. She was born in Lancaster County, daughter of the late Lester and Betsy Griest. Gertrude enjoyed playing pool and yard work. In addition to her husband, She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Ann Griest of Holtwood, 5 sisters; Louise, marriage to John Davis of Quarryville, PA, Virginia Jackson of Quarryville, PA, Ardeth Gaus of New Providence, PA, Naomi, marriage to Ernest England of Oxford, PA, Marion, marriage to Wilson Harris of Manheim, and her brother Albert Griest of Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by two sons, Edward and Scott Harman, and several siblings. The Funeral Service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor William Morann officiating. Burial will be in Eastland Friends Burying Ground. Visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7:00-8:30 PM.
Marjorie L. Helsel
Marjorie L. Helsel, 88, of 1274 River Road, Holtwood, PA, died September 20, 2005 at Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster. She was the wife of the late Earl W. Helsel who died in 1974. Mrs. Helsel was a teacher’s aid, and had worked for IU 13 for both the Landisville Learning Center, and the Solanco School District, retiring in 2002. She was born in Salona, PA, daughter of the late Elmer and Ida Brown Miller. She was a lifetime member of the Brethren in Christ Church, and her love of the church also brought her to Byerland and Rawlinsville Mennonite Churches. Marjorie enjoyed playing the piano and organ and reading.
She is survived by 6 children, Ann, marriage to Gerald Hurlburt of Holtwood, PA, Clair Helsel, Sr of Liverpool, PA, Sharon, marriage to Wallace Brenchley of New Providence, David, marriage to Carolyn Helsel of Mifflinburg, PA, Michael, marriage to Rose Helsel of Holtwood, and Robert, marriage to Ananda Helsel, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, sister; Eleanor Slagenweit of Martinsburg, PA brother; Clair Miller of Warsaw, IN, foster daughters Annette Bushey of Dillsburg and Carol Ann Hughes of Altoona, PA. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Merle, Martin, and Irvin Miller.
The Funeral Service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 7:00 P.M. Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 24, at 11:00 A.M. in the Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg, PA. Visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM. Joseph C. Wanner
Joseph C. Wanner, 87, of 362 Carnation Drive, New Providence, died on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at his home. He was the husband of Rose B. Deputy Wanner, and they had celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Mr. Wanner was a retired Truck Driver, and was a member of Teamsters Local 107, Philadelphia. Joseph was born in Philadelphia, son of the late George and Mary Richardson Wanner. He is survived by his wife Rose B.; son’s Joseph C. Jr. marriage to Tammy Wanner of Liberty, NC, George W. marriage to Loretta Wanner of New Providence, and his 3 grand daughters. The Funeral Service will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Friday, June 9, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Boehm's United Methodist Cemetery. Diane Koss Morss
Diane Koss Morss, 54, of 84 Hawthorne Circle, Willow Street, died Wednesday, September 28, 2005. She was the wife of Peter D. Morss. They had celebrated 23 years of marriage. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of Joseph and the late Dolores Morris Koss. Diane had graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in English and later became a LPN from Harrisburg Area Community College. She was employed as a LPN at Tel-Hai in Honeybrook, PA. In addition to her husband and father she is survived by a son, Andrew Joshua Morss and a daughter, Laura Elizabeth Morss, both students;3 sisters, Danette, Dorice and Dedrie. Funeral services will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 E. State Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday. October 1, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. There will be a visitation at Reynolds Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:30-8:30 P.M. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Betty Shaub
Betty Shaub, 86, of 746 Marticville Road, Pequea, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, December 24, 2005. She was the wife of Ross Aldus Shaub who passed away in 1986. Betty had worked for the Penn Manor School District in food service and had retired after 25 ½ years. She was a member of Colemanville United Methodist Church, Conestoga, PA, the U.M.W. and Rawlinsville Camp meeting Auxiliary were she had served her faith in many areas. She enjoyed cooking, her family and friends, and serving others. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She was born in Drumore Twp. PA, daughter of the late John G. and Kathryn Drumm Farmer. She is survived by her daughter Nancy S. marriage to W.B. Patterson of Reading, PA, daughter Betty Lou marriage to John Johnson of Willow Street, PA, her son Donald N. marriage to Carol Shaub of Pequea, 9 grandchildren, 19 Great grandchildren and a sister Helen M. Happel of Lancaster. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Colemanville United Methodist Church, 210 Colemanville Road, Conestoga, PA on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 12:00 noon, with pastors Jim Goudie and Richard Rimert officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda United Methodist Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 PM., and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Donald N. 'Shaubie' Shaub
Donald N. 'Shaubie' Shaub, 58, of 1033 Marticville Road, Pequea, Pa died peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at his home. He was the husband of Carol McKinney Shaub and they had celebrated 15 years of marriage. 'Shaubie' was a 1st Class lineman for P.P. & L. where he had worked for 39 years. He was a member of the Pequea Valley Sportsman Club, Riverside, Pequea Boat Club, Moose Lodge of Lewes, DE and the NRA. He was a member of Colemanville United Methodist Church, Pequea, Pa. He enjoyed hunting, was an avid NASCAR fan and car enthusiast, and enjoyed building model airplanes.
Donald was born in Lancaster, son of the late Ross and Betty Farmer Shaub. In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by; two daughters, Stacy, marriage to Scott Herr of Strasburg, Pa, Sherri, marriage to Danny Moser of Chester, SC, 8 grandchildren, 2 sisters; Nancy, marriage to Chip Patterson of Reading, Pa, Betty Lou, marriage to John Johnson of Willow Street, Pa, and a step son Jeffrey, marriage to Debbie Workman of Kirkwood, Pa. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing to be held Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 PM from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA.
