Robert C. Haines, 85, of the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, died there of natural causes on Friday.
Born in Hartford, Conn., he was the son of the late William L. and Myra Cheney Haines.
He was marriage more than 62 years to Mary Jane Herr Haines.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Barbara l. Haines of Rochester, N.Y. and Beth, wife of Clem Lichty of Lancaster; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bill C.
The memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 140 E. Orange St., Lancaster Pa. on Monday, Sept. 15 at 7pm with the Rev. Dr. Randolph T. Riggs officiating. Private interment. Calling Hour on Monday from 6pm until the time of service.

Robert E. Pennington Sr., 78 of 1700 Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, died Monday in Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lebanon, after a long illness.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Anna Mae Espenshade Pennington.
His wife, Coleen Werner Pennington, died in 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffry L. of Blandon and Robert E. Jr. of Pequea; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Elinor Nicholas of Lancaster.
The funeral will be held at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster,Pa on Friday at 10:30 am with Rev. David D. Kreider officiating. Alfred H. Riddell, 90, of 211 Willow Valley Square, died of natural causes Sunday at the Glen at Willow Valley after an illness of several months.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Samuel and Anna Downes Riddell.
His wife, Ruth Founds Craig Riddell, died in 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Richard A. of Chestnut Hill and Robert C., marriage to Rosalie Riddell of Pitman, N.J.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth of Bradenton, Fla.
