Mabel I. Keith, 87, of Galen Hall Road, Reinholds, passed away Wednesday morning at home.
Born in Fritztown, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Minerva (Keller) Keffer. Mabel's husband Paul H. Keith died November 25, 1979. Surviving are her sons, Donald E. husband of Doris J. (Franck) Keith and Larry E. Keith both of Ephrata, Dennis L. husband of Carol Ann (Gehman) Keith of Reinholds; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Mabel was predeceased by brothers Earl and Levi Keffer, and a sister Gertrude Long.
She retired from Keystone Nitewear, Reinholds where she worked for many years. Mabel was a member of the Women's Christian Fellowship of Reinholds, the Cocalico Senior Association, the Golden Year's Circle of Denver, and the Reinholds Trinity Chapel. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and canning fruits and vegetables.

Walter H. Sweigart
Walter H. Sweigart, 89, of Mt. Airy Rd., Stevens, died Tuesday afternoon in Ephrata Community Hospital.
Born in East Cocalico Township, he was a son of the late John and Emma (Hartranft) Sweigart. His wife Vera W. (Walters) Sweigart died June 27, 1998. Surviving are his children, Donald C. husband of Laura (Frantz) Sweigart of Newmanstown, Edith F. Wenrich, Gary Lee Sweigart both of Denver, Rodney G. Sweigart, W. Paul husband of Edyth (Miller) Sweigart, and Rodger R. husband of Shirley (Bowman) Sweigart all of Stevens; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. Walter was predeceased by a daughter Norma Joan, great granddaughter Erika, brothers Levi and Irvin, sisters Mary Deibler, Lizzie Firestone and Norene Huber.
He retired from Glen Gery Brick Corporation of Ephrata, and was then employed for several building contractors before retiring in 1980.
Walter was a member of Mellinger's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schoeneck, the Reamstown Athletic Association, and the Schoeneck Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting.

Sadie L. Gehman
Sadie L. Gehman, 94, formerly of Adamstown, died Saturday evening in Ephrata Manor.
Born in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Katie (Lesher) Weinhold. Her husband Charles L. Gehman died in 1981.
Surviving are her daughters, Shirley G. Kline and Elaine F. wife of Roger F. Ream both of Ephrata; 6 grandchildren, Michael husband of Jody Ream, Todd husband of Kim Ream, Susan wife of Greg Snyder, Ross husband of Lisa Kline, Kelly wife of Troy Fox and Karl Kline; 11 great grandchildren; a sister Catherine Bryant of Lancaster. Sadie was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters.
She operated the diner at the George W. Bollman Hat Company of Adamstown for many years. Bertha was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, the Elderberry Group of the Church, and loved cooking, playing cards and knitting.
Memorial Service Wednesday 7:00pm in the Donecker Chapel of Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Rd., Ephrata with Reverend William E. Hoch officiating. Private Inurnment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-7pm. The family prefers memorial contributions in Sadie's memory be made to the charity of your choice.
Clyde Wealand
Clyde Wealand, 80, of Akron, died Tuesday morning at home.
Born in Hopeland, he was a son of the late Jacob and Fannie (Enck) Wealand. He and his wife Violet W. (Wenger) Wealand would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 3. Also surviving are their children, Dawn C. wife of George M. Schleicher, and Cornell A. husband of Cindy A. (Royer) Wealand; 4 grandsons; 1 great grandson. Clyde was predeceased by a brother Calvin.
He retired from Penn Dairies where he had worked for many years. He was a member of Akron Grace E.C. Church, and the Cocalico Prop Busters. A veteran of World War II, Clyde was a Military Policeman for the United States Army.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family in the Roseboro Funeral Home with Reverend Edward J. Vondran officiating. Interment in Hopeland Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Clyde's memory to Grace E.C. Church, N. 7th St., Akron, PA 19501.
Paul H. Weinhold
Paul H. Weinhold, 79, of Mohnton, died Thursday night in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, where he had been a patient since March 8.
Born in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late John and Erma (Brendle) Weinhold. He and his wife Marguerite A. (Althouse) Weinhold were marriage 58 years on March 29. Also surviving are their children, Linda J. wife of Howard Ream of Newmanstown, Thomas P. husband of Bonnie of Gambrills, Maryland, Brenda M. wife of Kenneth Baur of Mohnton, Jerry D. husband of Jayne Weinhold of Birdsboro, and Troy A. Weinhold of Mohnton; 12 grandchildren; 4 great granddaughters. Paul was preceded in death by a brother Clarence, and Sisters Erma Fasnacht and Loella Bartsch.
A Mason Tender, Paul was a member of Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown Rod & Gun, Adamstown V.F.W., and the Reamstown Athletic Association. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army.

Clarence Sweigart, 73, of Ephrata, died Wednesday afternoon at home.
Born in East Earl Township, he was a son of the late Ellsworth and Marth (Steinmetz) Sweigart. His wife Joan (Miller) Sweigart died August 10, 1998. He was the companion of Shirley Gehr for 8 years. Also surviving is his daughter, Karen wife of Jerr Axe of Lancaster; step-children, Edward husband of Susan (Grostaphon) Gehr and Tina wife of John Mader both of Ephrata; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; sisters, Eleanor Hertzog of Akron and Irene wife of Orville Miller of Lititz; brothers, Victor husband of Rosine Sweigart of Lititz, Frank husband of Ruth Sweigart of Manheim, Ellsworth Jr. husband of Gloria Sweigart of Akron and Warren husband of Linda Sweigart of New Holland. Clarence was predeceased by a sister Verna Gerhart.
An employee of Manheim Asbestos for 39 years, Clarence was a member of the American Legion of Lancaster, the Ephrata Elks Lodge, was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, and enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and his grandchildren.

Dr. Ernest R. "Ernie" King D.C., 85, of Shillington, died Friday morning in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.
Born in Denver he was a son of the late Harry S. and Cora E. (Burd) King. Surviving is a daughter Kristine L. King of Shillington; sisters, Grace M. Schmeck of Lancaster, Kathryn I. wife of Leroy K. Weitzel of Denver, Helen K. wife of Ivan W. Weitzel of Reinholds, Ruth K. Sweigart of Denver; brother John C. King of Denver.
Ernie was a self-employed Chiropractor in the Reading Area for 47 years. He was a member of Swamp Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reinholds, was a past Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association, past Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Accupuncture Association, a member of the V.F.W. Post #38, Reading, and the American Legion of Reading. He was Salutatorian of Denver High School, 1937, a graduate of La Salle Extension University with a degree in Higher Accounting, attended McCann's School of Business where he reviewed Accounting, and prior to graduating from Lincoln Chiropractic College of Indianapolis, Indiana, 1956 he was a Cost Analyst and Personnel Director with American Casualty Company. Ernie was one of the first Chiropractic Physicians in the area to use Accupuncture as a modality of treatment. Ernie served in the United States Army during World War II.
