Ida M. Auker
Ida M. Auker, 85, of 2121 Main Street – Apt. A, Rothsville, Lancaster County, died Tuesday at 3:20 PM in Lancaster General Hospital where she was a patient since Friday, May 24th. Born in Union Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Frank, Sr. and Delilah I. (Smith) Bush. Her husband, Allen C. Auker, died May 6, 1965. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Auker was a homemaker her entire life and enjoyed crocheting for friends and family. Surviving are 2 daughters, Betty Jane, marriage to Charles Slates, Three Springs, Huntingdon County; and Fern Marie Eller, Rothsville, PA; 2 sons, Harold E., marriage to Anita (Clippinger) Auker, Ephrata, PA; and Richard Allen, marriage to Beverly (Adair) Auker, Rothsville, PA; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances (Bush) Yelk, Adamstown, PA; and a brother, William Bush, Reading. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Gaus; a son, Ronald Lee Auker; 2 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Bush) Rudy; and 3 brothers, Harry, Frank, Jr., and Samuel Bush.
Ida's viewing will be held on Friday evening, May 31, 2002, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in our parlors. The funeral ceremony will take place from our funeral home on Saturday, June 1, 2002, at 10:00 AM with The Reverend Dean L. Baublitz officiating.
Burial will follow in Center Union Cemetery, East Earl Township, Lancaster County, PA.

Leon E. “Papa Bair” Bair
Leon E. “Papa Bair” Bair, age 74, of 495 West Main Street, Mountville, Lancaster County, formerly of Reamstown, Lancaster County, died Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 PM in the Essa Flory Hospice Center, East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, where he was a guest for 2 weeks. His death followed a lengthy illness. Born in East Earl Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Leon W. and Alice (Griffiths) Bair. His wife, Elaine J. (Bowman) Bair, died June 5, 1984. He retired in 1977 after 26 years with the former Halls Motor Transit, Mechanicsburg, having worked out of their Kutztown Terminal. Earlier he had been employed by the former Pottstown Paper Box Company, Reading. A navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Ephrata VFW, Fraternal Order of Police, Lancaster County and Pennsylvania State Fire Police, and was a Life Member of the Reamstown Fire Company No. 1. He is survived by his 17 year companion, Shirley A. (Witmer) Oberholtzer, with whom he resided; a son, Leon E., Jr., marriage to Carlene J. (Kreiser) Bair, Denver, PA; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Auman, Sinking Spring, PA; and Dorothy Bair, Wenachtie, WA; and 2 brothers, George W. Bair, Ellensburg, WA; and Harry L., marriage to Jean Bair, Reading, PA. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Robin and Rick.
A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, April 27, 2003, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our parlors.
The funeral ceremony will be held from our facilities on Monday morning, April 28, 2003, at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Claude J. Sisler officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Salem Union Cemetery, Reamstown, Lancaster County, PA.
The Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard of Lancaster will conduct the military commendations.

Anna Mae Bair
Anna Mae Bair, 76, of 95 North Ridge Road, Reinholds, Lancaster County, died Sunday at 5:00 PM in her residence following a lengthy illness. She was under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Maidencreek Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Erma (Adams) Haas. Her husband, William L. Bair, Jr., died April 20, 1992. She was a member of Emanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, Adamstown, Lancaster County. Anna Mae retired in 1989 from F&M Hat Factory, Denver, where she had been employed 15 years. She was a member of the Adamstown VFW Ladies Auxilary and the Alleghenyville Grange. She is survived by a son, Gary W. Bair, Reinholds, PA; a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter; also surviving are 2 sisters, Mabel Guest, Douglasville, PA; and Gloria Underwood, Temple, PA; and a brother, Charles Fisher, Stoney Creek, PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly A. Hertzog, and a brother, Edward Haas.
A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, December 11, 2003, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our funeral home.
The ceremony celebrating Anna Mae's life will be held on Friday morning, December 12, 2003, at 10:00 AM with her pastor, The Reverend Richard F. Christman, II, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Phyllis K. Baker
February 1, 1928 - February 6, 2006
Phyllis K. Baker, 78, of 232 Hill Road, Denver, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, died Monday, February 6, 2006, at 4:15 AM in the Essa Flory Hospice Center, East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, under their care since January 28th. Born February 1, 1928, in McClure, Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur R. and Rhetta M. ( Arnold ) Knepp, and was the wife of Kenneth E. Baker for 59 years. A member of Salem Evangelical & Reformed Church, Reamstown, she had worked at the former Cinderella Knitting Mill, Denver . In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 daughters, Karen S. Martzall, and Pamela J., wife of Randy Zoll, both of Ephrata, PA; a son, Terry L., husband of Barbara (Jones) Baker, Pottstown, PA; 7 grandchildren, Jaime, Kristen, Josh, Jesse, Alec, Jordan and Kyle; 3 great-grandchildren, Jade, Maddison and Owen; 2 sisters, Ruth (Knepp) Rhoads, Lewistown, Mifflin County, PA; and Judy (Knepp) Wise, McClure, PA; and a brother, Paul A. Knepp, McClure, PA. Phyllis was predeceased by a sister, Betty Baker, and 3 brothers, Glenn, Gerald and Larry Knepp.
A viewing will be held at our establishment on Friday, February 10, 2006, from 12:30 to 2:00 PM. The celebration of Phyllis' life will begin at 2:00 PM from our parlors with her pastor, The Reverend Stephen E. Hollinger, officiating.
Private interment in Salem Union Cemetery, Reamstown.

Ruth E. Barthold
March 4, 1912 - July 8, 2003
Ruth E. Barthold, 91, formerly of Stony Run Village, Denver, Lancaster County, and Shillington, Berks County, died Tuesday afternoon at 2:05 PM in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, Berks County, where she resided for the past 4 years. Born in Dauberville, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Sarah (Phillips) Wagner. Her husband, Ray N. Barthold, died May 19, 1994. Mrs. Barthold was a homemaker and of the Lutheran faith. Surviving is a son, Richard R. Barthold, Reading, PA; 2 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was cremated and will be buried with the cremains of her husband in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington, Berks County, PA, at a service on Friday morning, July 11, 2003, at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Walton R. Horn officiating.
The family requests that you remember Ruth with contributions to the Berks Visiting Nurses Hospice, 1170 Berkshire Boulevard, Reading, PA 19610.

Clyde M. Baringer
August 19, 1924 - June 24, 2003
Clyde M. Baringer, 78, formerly of Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Tuesday evening in the Brandywine Nursing Home, Wilmington, Delaware, where he resided since December 1997. Born in Ephrata, he was a son of the late John and Ruth (McGallicher) Baringer. His wife, Edith I. (Treisch) Baringer, died March 5, 1976. Retiring in 1986, he was a self-employed house painter for 30 years. A Navy veteran of World War II, Baringer was a life member of the Ephrata VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving is a daughter, Diane L., marriage to William F. Paolini, Wilmington, DE; and a sister, Josephine Boyer, Ephrata, PA. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Baringer.
Clyde's viewing will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003, from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon from our parlors.
The funeral ceremony will begin at 12 Noon with burial following in Mellinger's Cemetery, Schoeneck, Lancaster County, PA.

Paul E. Bartsch
1920 - 2001
Paul was born in Clay Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Charles F. and Minnie (Noll) Bartsch. He and his wife, Luella B. (Weinhold) Bartsch, were marriage on Christmas of 1940. He served in the Army during World War II and worked for 33 years as a bridge builder for the former J. Richard Nissley and then Bear Creek Construction of Landisville, last as assistant superintendant. Paul was a member of The Worship Center, Lancaster. He also belonged to the Cloister Post American Legion, Ephrata, the Joyce Kilmer Hunting Club, Union County, and enjoyed rose gardening. Luella and Paul had visited 49 states during their travels...all but Hawaii.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Sandra Y., marriage to former state representative Terry R. Scheetz, Stevens; 2 sons, John C., marriage to Linda (Bauder) Bartsch, Womelsdorf; and Scott D., marriage to Cindy L. (Imhoff) Bartsch, Ephrata; 6 grandchildren, Justina, Lyn, Andrea, Penny, Danielle & Paul; and a sister, Lillian G. Getz, a resident of the E. C. Retirement Village, Myerstown.
Paul was in his residence at 25 Green Acres, Akron, being cared for by his family and Hospice of Lancaster County when he met his Lord on Sunday morning at 10:55 AM following a 21 month illness.
A viewing will be held at The Good Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 6, 2001, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:00 AM.
The service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 10:00 AM from The Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 (near Leola), with Pastor Amos Dienner & Pastor Leon H. Denlinger officiating. Further graveside services will follow from Lincoln Cemetery, Ephrata.
