Wade C. Hulshart, Jr., 81, of 24 Valleybrook Drive, Lancaster, died Thursday at the Essa Flory Hospice Center.
He was the husband of the late Mary Jane Hambright Hulshart, who died in 2001.
Born in York, he was the son of the late Wade H. and Margaret Haugh Hulshart.
He was employed by the US Postal Service for 37 years as a personnel manager at the York branch, and as a sectional center manager in finance and personnel at the Lancaster branch, retiring in 1981. Following retirement, he was a customer service supervisor at the former Watt and Shand Dept. Store in Lancaster City.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sgt. in a combat engineer battalion in Europe. He participated in the invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach. He was a member of the Battle of Normandy Foundation, and his name is inscribed on the Wall of Liberty at Omaha Beach.
He was member of the Elks Lodge 134, and the American Legion Post 34.
A 32nd degree Mason, he was a former Past Master of White Rose Masonic Lodge 706 in York, and was a member of the Harrisburg Consistory, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Lancaster, York and Zembo Temple Shrine Clubs. He was also a 4th degree Knight in Knights of Columbus Council 4191, Santa Maria Assembly of Lancaster.
He is survived by a son: Terry W. marriage to Connie Hulshart of Willow Street, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvan O'Brien and a brother, Gilbert F. Hulshart.
Friends will be received at the Charles Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, on Monday from 6 to 8PM, with a prayer service at 7:30PM, and again on Tuesday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 East Delp Rd., Lancaster from 10 until 11AM, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery, York. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in his memory to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, or Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
William G. Beck
September 2, 1940 - November 5, 2002
William G. Beck, 62, of 1431 Bowmansville Road, Brecknock Township, Bowmansville, Lancaster County, died Tuesday afternoon at 2:35 PM in his residence under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. His death followed a brief illness. Born in Ephrata Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late William C. and Elsie B. (Jones) Beck, and was the husband of Alice E. (Goodman) Beck for 43 years on June 20, 2002. Retiring in June, he was employed for 38 years as a telecommunications engineer with Burle Industries, Lancaster. He was also the Sunday engineer for the WIOV Radio Station and worked for many years with the audio of “Shindig in the Barn” and “Shindig at Cripple Creek”, country music events. He played guitar, loved country music, and enjoyed flying model airplanes, camping and vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 daughters, Nadine R., marriage to Kevin Ache, Adamstown, PA; Linda K., marriage to Jeffrey Skovira, Stevens, PA; and Jane R., marriage to Dale Fredrickson, Ephrata, PA; 2 sons, William A. Beck, Shillington, PA; and Mark C. Beck, Bowmansville, PA; also a granddaughter he raised, Tabatha M., marriage to Richard Updike, Harker Heights, TX; and 3 additional grandchildren survive. A brother, Elmer C. Beck, preceded him in death.
William's viewing and funeral ceremony, at his request, will be held privately by his family. The Reverend John C. Grove will officiate from our parlor.
Interment will take place in Bowmansville Union Cemetery, Bowmansville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Earlene Becker
July 8, 1927 - March 19, 2002
Earlene L. Becker, 74, formerly of 2135 Old Lancaster Pike, Reinholds, Berks County, died Tuesday evening at 9:30 PM in the Mennonite Home, Lancaster, where she resided since August 24, 1999. Born in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Elsie M. (Kohl) Sweigart. Her husband, Harry A. “Junior” Becker, died November 27, 1994. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, and also was a life-member of the American Motorcycle Association and the Adamstown VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Earlene had been employed many years ago by the former Cinderella Knitting Mill, Denver, Lancaster County. Surviving is a sister, Shirley Sweigart, Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Emily E. Lied, and 2 brothers, Alton and Marvin Sweigart.
Earlene's viewing will be held from our parlor on Sunday, March 24, 2002, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The funeral will be at our establishment on Monday, March 25, 2002, at 10:00 AM with her pastor, The Reverend William E. Hoch, officiating.

Clayton H. Becker
August 17, 1913 - April 2, 2002
Clayton H. Becker, 88, of 304 Pfautz Hill Road, Stevens, Lancaster County, died Tuesday in Ephrata Community Hospital where he was a patient for 5 days. Born in Ephrata, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Harvey J. and Emma (Gelsinger) Becker, and was the husband of Sarah J. (Ziemer) Becker since May 25, 1990. He was a member of Mohler Church of the Brethren, Ephrata. Retiring in 1978, he was employed by the former Parish Pressed Steel, now Dana Corporation, at their former Reading Division. Becker was an Army veteran of World War II, a life member of the Adamstown VFW Post 8795 and the United Steelworkers of America. Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Darlene Peters, Stevens, PA; 5 grandchildren; a step-son, Warren, husband of Delores Lausch, Ephrata, PA; and a sister, Elizabeth Bowman, Lewisberry, PA. He was preceded in death by a wife, Stella Becker in 1987, and these brothers and sisters, Charles, Edward, James, Elsie Ludwig and Harriet Heil.
Clayton's funeral will be held on Friday, April 5, 2002, at 10:00 AM from Mohler Church of the Brethren, 21 East Mohler Church Road, Ephrata, PA, with his pastor, The Reverend Phil Reynolds, officiating. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. The interment will be private.

Rose M. Becker, 52, 326 Hill Road, Denver, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, went home to be with her Lord May 20, 2005, at Essa Flory Hospice Center, East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, following a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 15, 1952, in Columbia, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Russel J. & Anna (Frank) Flowers. She was marriage to Robert L. Becker, Sr., on June 5, 1971. A member of Marietta Community Chapel, Rose was a homemaker who enjoying crocheting, cooking, entertaining and her grandsons. She was a 1970 graduate of Donegal High School. Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Robert L. Becker, Jr., at home; a daughter, Jennifer, wife of Kenneth Noll, Lititz, PA; grandsons, Jonathan & Jacob Noll; brothers, James, husband of Polly Flowers, Elizabethtown, PA; Richard Flowers, Tampa, FL; Albert, husband of Barbara Flowers, Harrisburg, PA; and sisters, Alice (Flowers) Collier, Marietta, PA; Ruth (Flowers), wife of Robert Zartman, & Betty (Flowers) Storm, both Mt. Joy, PA; Eva (Flowers), wife of John Piatek, Lancaster, PA; Susan (Flowers), wife of Donald Kissinger, Maytown, PA; & Mary (Flowers) wife of Michael Forbes, Harrisburg, PA. She was predeceased by a brother, Russel Flowers.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34-38 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown, PA 17567 and at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Dan Althouse, Rev. Raymond Miller and Rev. Paul Sangree officiating from Marietta Community Chapel, 1125 River Road, Marietta, PA 17547 . Graveside committal service will be held at 2 PM from Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Ephrata, PA.

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Berry, 59, of 1280 Crestview Drive, Denver, Lancaster County, PA, died in her home at 12:02 AM Sunday morning following a brief illness. Born in Wilkebarre, Luzerne County, PA, she was a daughter of Elizabeth A. (Jones) Spear, Towson, Maryland, and the late Samuel Spear. She was the wife of Junior F. Berry for the past 28 years. Formerly of Ridgely, Maryland, she was a member of the Ridgely United Methodist Church. Mrs. Berry was a graduate of Chesapeake College, Easton, Maryland, and was employed for 10 years by the Easton, Maryland, Police Department as an administrator and secretary for the chief of police. Since moving to Lancaster County she was employed as a fashion consultant with Donecker’s of Ephrata. “Betty” was an artist, enjoying various mediums including oil and pastel painting and stenciling. Surviving in addition to her husband and mother is a son, James E., marriage to Brenda (Galey) Stansbury, Churchton, Maryland; a daughter, Elizabeth A. (Stansbury) Conner, Denton, Maryland; a grandson; a sister, Audrey, marriage to Ted Fowler, Kansas City, Kansas; and a brother, Samuel Spear, Towson, Maryland; also surviving is a step-daughter, Sandra (Berry) Christian, Odenton, Maryland; and 6 step-grandchildren.
Betty's family will receive friends for a time of sharing memories and support on Saturday, December 8, 2001, from Noon until 2:00 PM. A service celebrating her life will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor William A. Sloat II officiating.

Lela M. Bigelow, 59, of 1375-B West Main Street, Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Friday, September 16, 2005, at 10:45 AM in Ephrata Community Hospital where she was a patient 4 days. Born December 31, 1945, in Shirleysburg, PA, she was a daughter of Esther Marie (Clymans) Varner Mounce, Lancaster, PA, and the late John Decker Varner. A graduate of Captain Jack High School, Huntingdon County, she was last employed by Mt. Bethany Company, Reamstown, PA. Surviving in addition to her mother are 3 daughters, Angela C., wife of Clinton W. Ziemer, Brownstown, PA; Alice E. Hardcastle, Indianapolis, IN; and Lisa M., wife of Ross A. Martzall, with whom she resided; 4 grandchildren; 6 sisters and 5 brothers.
Viewings will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc., Reamstown, Lancaster County, and Thursday, September 22, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from The Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, Huntingdon County, where services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005, at 10:00 AM. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, Huntingdon County, PA.
