Ida Birkenbach, 84, of 129 Maple Street, Narvon, Lancaster County (Brecknock Township) died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 6:18 PM in Lancaster General Hospital where she was admitted from Beverly Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster, where she resided 3 weeks. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Berman, and was the wife of Edward Birkenbach for 57 years. She was a homemaker most of her life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Celia (Berman) Krawitz, Pennsacola, Florida .

Gerald R. Bondoch
December 10, 1938 - January 8, 2003
Gerald R. Bondoch, 64, of 1913 Old Lancaster Pike, Reading (Spring Township/Gouglersville), died in his residence Wednesday, January 8, at 7:15 PM following a brief illness. Born in Reading, Berks County, he was a son of the late Leon and Cecelia (Jankowski) Bondoch, and was the husband of Sherlaine M. (Dasher) Bondoch for 17 years on April 20, 2002. He attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God, West Lawn. He was employed as a bookkeeper for many years at the former Parrish & Company Brokerage, Reading; former American Bank & Trust Co., Reading; and the former Fleetwood Sportswear, Inc., Fleetwood. He last worked for St. Joseph Living Center, Reading, as transportation coordinator. Since retiring, he was employed part-time by Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown. Bondoch was a 1956 graduate of Reading High School and attended Albright College, McCann School of Business and completed courses of study at Alvernia College. Surviving in addition to his wife is a brother, Eugene Bondoch, Reading.
Gerald's viewing will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2003, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM from our parlors.
The funeral service will be on Monday, January 13, 2003, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rodney D. Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood, Berks County, PA.
Norma E. Boney
August 23, 1927 - January 1, 2005
Norma E. Hoffert Boney, 77, of 675 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds, Lancaster County, formerly of Pleasantville, NJ, died Saturday, January 1, 2005, at 7:40 PM in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata, Lancaster County . Born August 23, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Collins) Hoffert, and was the wife of Henry R. Boney for 59 years on August 31st, 2004. She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata. Norma was a teacher at the Atlantic City Friends School and substituted with the Pleasantville Public Schools. A musician most of her life, she was pianist for the Ephrata Golden Years Club and played at the former Zaberer’s Restaurant, Atlantic City, NJ, as well as many of the Lancaster & Berks County restaurants and clubs. She was a member of the Greater Lancaster Federation of Musicians Local 294. She wrote articles and letters with the Ephrata Review over the years and was a great animal lover. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons, Henry R., Jr., husband of Roberta (Clunne) Boney, of Mays Landing, NJ; and James R., husband of Carol (Mostetler) Boney, Egg Harbor Township, NJ ; and 4 grandsons, Matthew, Vincent, Jay and John. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM from our parlors. The ceremony celebrating Norma's life will begin at 2:00 PM with a priest from Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Center Union Cemetery, Earl Township, Lancaster County, PA.
Wilson S. Bouder, Jr. "Willie"
January 15, 1936 - November 29, 2003
Wilson S. Bouder, Jr., 67, of 13 West Liberty Street, Lancaster, was found in his residence on Friday, November 29, following an illness. Born in Ephrata, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Wilson S. Bouder, Sr. and Caroline Schrantz. He was employed over the years as a carpenter, machine operator and had last worked in a local grocery store. "Willie" was an Army veteran of the Korean War and enjoyed visiting the cabin in the mountains. He is survived by a son, Rick L. Bouder, Ephrata; a granddaughter; and a sister, Mary E. Martin, Denver, PA.
There will be no viewing.
All services will be handled privately by the family. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, PA.
Ralph E. Bowman
April 9, 1939 - December 25, 2002
Ralph E. Bowman, 63, of 862 Fivepointville Road, Stevens, Lancaster County, died in his home Wednesday at 5:20 PM under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. He died following a 3 month illness. Born in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late David W. and Sallie (Good) Bowman, and was the husband of Mary E. (Bohner) Bowman for 38 years on July 25th, 2002. Retiring in April 2001, he worked as a cook for People’s Restaurant, New Holland, for 38 years. He continued working part-time at the restaurant until his illness. Ralph enjoyed cooking and camping with his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children, Tony E. Bowman, Stevens, PA; and Connie E. (Bowman) Howe, Ephrata, PA; 3 grandchildren; and a brother, Harold L. Bowman, Stevens, PA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Derr, and a brother, Melvin Bowman.
Ralph's viewing will be held from our funeral home on Sunday evening, December 29, 2002, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from our parlor on Monday, December 30, 2002, at 2:00 PM with The Reverend William E. Hoch officiating.
Burial will take place following the funeral in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, PA.
Mary E. Bowman
July 27, 1943 - January 3, 2004
Mary E. Bowman, 60, of 862 Fivepointville Road, Stevens, Lancaster County, died Saturday, January 3, in her residence following a brief illness. Born in Lewistown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Blanche (Brosius) Bohner. Her husband, Ralph E. Bowman, died December 25, 2002. She had been employed for 30 years by Atlas Manufacturing, Ephrata. Mary enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, word searches, shopping and camping. Surviving are 2 children, Tony E. Bowman, Sr., Stevens, PA; and Connie E. Howe, Ephrata, PA; 3 grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Woodrow W., Jr., marriage to Adrey (Sides) Bohner, Port Charlotte, Florida; and Charles B. Bohner, Lancaster, PA.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, January 6, 2004, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our funeral home.
The ceremony celebrating Mary's life will be held on Wednesday afternoon, January 7, 2004, at 1:00 PM with The Reverend William E. Hoch officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Daniel Leroy Boyer
September 19, 1926 - January 25, 2005
Daniel Leroy Boyer, 78, of 1065 West Main Street, Ephrata, Lancaster County, PA, died Tuesday morning, January 25, 2005, at 11:05 AM in the VA Medical Center, Lebanon, PA, where he was a patient for the past week.. Born September 19, 1926, in Wernersville, Berks County, PA, he was a son of the late James J. and Martha (Wenger) Boyer, and was the husband of Marian A. (Stover) Boyer for 51 years on November 26, 2004. He was an army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and was a well-known, clock repairman for over 50 years, operating Boyer's Antique Clock Repair at his residence. He was a former member of the VFW and Amvets, both in Ephrata. He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home over the years. Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 grandchilden and 1 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis David Boyer in 1973, and a daughter, Sharon Elaine Althouse in 1993.
It was Dan's request that all services be handled privately. His cremains will be inurned with military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, Lebanon County, PA.
