Earl G. Brendle, 77, of 55 East Franklin Street, Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Thursday at 12:05 AM in Conestoga View, Lancaster, where he resided one week. Born in Fivepointville, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Harry T. and Lillie (Good) Brendle. Retiring in 1991, he was employed for 35 years as a fire brick layer with the former Birdsboro Steel, Birdsboro, Berks County, PA. Earl was a Navy veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theatre. An avid fisherman and hunter, Brendle was a member of the Adamstown Rod & Gun Club and a former member of the Buck Run Hunting Club, Potter County. Surviving are 2 sisters, Mary M. Flory, Ephrata, PA, and Grace E. Seifrit, Fivepointville, PA; 3 brothers, Lester G. Brendle, Eugene W. Brendle, and Clair L., husband of Alverta (Carvell) Brendle, all of Denver, PA; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Estella Brendle, and 4 brothers, Harry, Jeremiah, Howard & John.
A viewing will be held from our parlors on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral ceremony will be held from our funeral home on Monday, August 11, 2003, at 10:00 AM with The Reverend Sandra L. Gideon officiating. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, Lancaster County, PA.
Marian A. Boyer

Marian A. Boyer, 69, of 1065 West Main Street, Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at 11:00 AM in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata Township, following a lengthy illness. Born in Mohnton, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Esther (Schnable) Stover. Her husband, Daniel L. Boyer, died January 25, 2005. Marian was a proof reader for 12 years with Science Press, Ephrata, and then for 12 years with Tapsco, Akron, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed traveling and antiques, especially clocks and watches. Surviving are 3 grandchildren, Jesse, Travis & Jenny Althouse; 2 great-grandchildren, Kayde & Ashlyn Althouse; a sister, Kathryn Leisey, Ephrata; and a brother, Donald, husband of Mary Ellen (Hummel) Stover, Silver Spring, MD. A son, Dennis David Boyer (1973), and a daughter, Sharon Elaine Althouse (1993), preceded her in death.
Private memorial services will be held by the family from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown.
Private inurnment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County.

Edna H. Miller

Edna H. Miller, 90, of the Mennonite Home and Formerly of Oyster Point, died Thursday at the Home following a brief illness. Born in W. Hempfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Christian K. and Fannie Herr Miller.
She was a member of the Rohrerstown Mennonite Church and worked as a domestic for most of her life. Edna is survived by two brothers, Lloyd H. Miller and Robert H. Miller, both of Mount Joy.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of the Mennonite Home, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. Paul Stanley Buohl

Paul Stanley Buohl, 77, of 77 Chickadee Lane, Stony Run Village, Denver, Lancaster County, died Sunday evening in his residence under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. Born June 23, 1927, in Reamstown, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Paul F. and Martha (Fritz) Buohl, and was the husband of Patricia A. (Muckel) Buohl for 20 years. A member and former councilman of Salem United Church of Christ, Reamstown, he also belonged to the Adamstown & Reinholds VFW and the Reamstown Athletic Association. Buohl retired in 1992 after 39 years with Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown, and was employed by Oak Creek Campground, Bowmansville, since retirement. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Thomas, husband of Lynna (Froman) Buohl, Phoenix, AZ; 3 daughters, Kathleen (Buohl) Frascella, Silver Spring, MD; Sandra (Buohl), wife of Ralph Stinson, Dallas, TX; and Sharon (Buohl), wife of Ken Davis, Fairborn, OH; 2 step-daughters, Sandra and Kelly Eager, both of Sinking Spring, PA; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; 3 sisters, Pauline K. (Buohl) Sweigart, and Helen J. (Buohl) Weinhold, both of Denver, PA; and Martha Ann (Buohl), wife of William Moran, Ephrata, PA; and 2 brothers, Robert F., husband of Carolanne (Nies) Buohl, Ephrata, PA; and Theodore E., husband of Pat (Euker) Buohl, Camp Hill, PA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Musser and 2 brothers, Walter & Harry Buohl.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, March 23, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from Salem United Church of Christ, East Church Street, Reamstown, PA.
Services will be held on Thursday morning, March 24, 2005, at 10 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown with his pastor, The Rev. Stephen E. Hollinger, officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township, Berks County, PA.

Kelly D. (Lausch) Burkett, 43, of 300 Wild Cherry Lane, Marietta, Lancaster County, died Sunday morning at 2:36 AM in a motorcycle accident in Maytown, Lancaster County. An autopsy was conducted at Conestoga View, Lancaster, on Monday. Born in Ephrata, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of Verna I. (Yost) Kieffer, Denver, and H. Richard Lausch, Mohnton, and was the wife of Gerald B. Burkett, Harrisburg, for the past 16 years. She was a member of Mellinger’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schoeneck, Lancaster County. A 1976 graduate of Cocalico High School, she enjoyed flower gardening, reading and was an avid Nascar fan. Kelly was the assistant manager of the K-Mart in Elizabethtown for the past 4 years. Previously she was employed as a bookkeeper for 17 years by Motor Truck Equipment Company, Carlisle. Surviving in addition to her parents is a step-father, Nevin E. Kieffer, Denver; a maternal grandmother, Irene (Getz) Yost, Denver; a son, Scott R. Simmons, Denver; 4 sisters, Stella (Kieffer) Leonti, Flying Hills (Reading), PA; Karen D. Lausch, Denver; Kim D. Kieffer, Lancaster; and Stacy M. (Lausch) Urso, Langhorne, PA; and 2 brothers, Alan, marriage to Nelli (Grier) Kieffer, Lutz, Florida; and Kevin D. Kieffer, Denver.
Kelly's viewing will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2001, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our parlor. The casket will also be open for viewing an hour prior to the church service on Friday.
The funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, December 7, 2001, at 11:00 AM from Mellinger's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Road, Stevens (Schoeneck), PA, with her pastor, The Reverend Timothy L. Craven, officiating.
Burial will take place immediately following the church service in Mellinger's Cemetery, Schoeneck, near her grandfather, Elmer Yost.

Gladys M. Buch, 72, formerly of Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Saturday afternoon at 3:45 PM in Brethren Village, Neffsville, Lancaster County, where she resided since 1993. Her death followed a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Akron, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late David E. and Minerva (Leed) Todd. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Brownstown, Lancaster County. Mrs. Buch had worked for many years as the office manager for the former Shorenson, Inc., Brownstown. A 1948 graduate of Ephrata High School, she was an avid bowler & reader, enjoyed playing cards and traveling, especially to shore points. Surviving is a son, Dennis Todd Buch, Willow Street, Lancaster County; 2 granddaughters; and a brother, David D. Todd, Lancaster, PA. A sister, Evelyn Roach, preceded her in death.
Gladys' viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2002, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM from The Chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Neffsville, PA. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM with Brethren Village Chaplain Levi J. Ziegler officiating.
Interment will take place following the funeral service in Brownstown Cemetery, West Earl Township, PA.

Margaret D. “Peg” Buch, 80, of 135 West Queen Street, Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Saturday evening at 6:40 PM in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata Township, Lancaster County, where she was a guest since June 23, 2003. Born in Darlington, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late John and Mae (Finley) Moore, and was the wife of Robert R. Buch for 57 years on May 25, 2003. Mrs. Buch was of the catholic faith. She was a 1940 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Lancaster. “Peg” was employed for many years as a sales associate with Royer’s Pharmacy, Ephrata, and had been a waitress at the American Legion Dining Hall, Ephrata. A dog lover, she had owned and raised numerous miniature dachshunds in her lifetime. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 daughters, Theresa A. (Buch), marriage to Warren Specht, Ephrata, PA; and Stasia J. (Buch), marriage to Scott Weiler, Lititz, PA; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul, marriage to Betty (Weaver) Moore, Scranton, PA; She was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Halligan, and a brother, Gerald Moore.
Peg's family will receive friends from our funeral parlor on Wednesday evening, July 2, 2003, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM with her son-in-law, Pastor Scott Weiler, officiating.
Private inurnment will take place in Brownstown Cemetery, West Earl Township, Lancaster County, PA.
