Victor S. “Pickle” Bucher, 95, of 26 West Church Street, Reamstown, Lancaster County, died Thursday morning at 12:25 AM in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata, Lancaster County, where he resided for the past month. Born in Reamstown, he was a son of the late William H. and Alice (Steinmetz) Bucher. He was a graduate of Coyne Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chicago, and worked as a Union Electrician most of his life. He was last employed by Nolt Brothers, Ephrata, PA. Bucher was also known in northern Lancaster County for his apple orchard along Route 272 where he maintained and sold apples for many years. He had also assisted in the family farm in earlier years. Pickle was a 73 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #743, Reading, PA, a life member of the Reamstown Fire Company and a charter and life member of the Reamstown Athletic Association. Surviving is a niece, Arlene Mooney, Whiting, New Jersey, a grand-nephew and several grand-nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Roy and Floyd “Dutch” Bucher.
A viewing will be held from our parlors on Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2004, from Noon to 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Memories will begin at 2:00 PM with members of Victor's family and friends sharing interesting stories and tidbits of his life. Please attend and bring a tale of your own to add to this meaningful time.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, North 4th Street, Denver, Lancaster County, PA.

Carrie R. Buohl, 83, of 1077 Henn Avenue, Ephrata, Lancaster County, formerly of Reamstown, Lancaster County, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at 8:49 AM in the emergency room of Ephrata Community Hospital. Born February 17, 1922, in Reamstown, she was a daughter of the late Paul R. and Maggie M. (Beck) Ansel, her husband, Walter F. Buohl, died September 8, 1999. A member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Swartzville, she was a former Sunday school and Bible School teacher and had been a homemaker most of her life. Surviving are 4 daughters, Shirley A. (Buohl) Haller, Lititz, PA ; Charlotte A. (Buohl), wife of Larry Shober, Ephrata, PA; Fay E. (Buohl), wife of Parke Loose, Lititz, PA; and Darlene M. (Buohl) Weidman, Ephrata, PA; 2 sons, Walter P., husband of Marie (Becker) Buohl, Denver, PA; and Richard E., husband of Julie (Dundore) Buohl, Seminole, FL; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Ellen M. Carles, and a brother, Harold Ansel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM from Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Swartzville, with her pastor, The Reverend Paul W. Smeltz, officiating. A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Dorothy A. “Dollee” Bush, 70, formerly of Spring Township, Berks County, died Thursday evening at 10:05 PM in Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Road, Ephrata, Lancaster County, where she resided since March 8, 2000. Born in Adamstown, she was a daughter of the late Harry S. and Cora (Rudy) Bush. Her longtime companion with whom she lived, Willard R. Vollertsen, died in 1999. “Dollee” retired in 1991 after 42 years with Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown. She was a 1949 graduate of the former Shillington High School. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, Lancaster County. Surviving are 2 nephews, a grandniece and 2 grandnephews. A brother, Richard D. Bush, preceded her in death.
Dorothy's viewing will be held from our parlor on Monday morning, June 3, 2002, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The funeral will begin at 11:00 AM with her pastor, The Reverend William E. Hoch, officiating. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, Lancaster County, PA.

Philip E. Cardin
December 26, 1987 - November 7, 2003
Philip Edward Cardin, 15, of 18 Sanderling Drive, Denver, Lancaster County, PA, died unexpectedly in his home Thursday afternoon. Born in Chester, PA, he was the beloved son of Philip Scott and Mary Beth (Moore) Cardin and the brother of Maggie S. Cardin, all at home. He was also the grandson of Mary B. (Dugan) Moore, Denver, PA, and Philip Charles Cardin, King of Prussia, PA. Philip was a 10th grade student at Cocalico Senior High School, Denver, where he was active in Soccer and Basketball. He was also a member of the Ephrata LaCross Club. He was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata, PA.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday evening, November 11, 2003, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from the family's church, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 320 Church Avenue, Ephrata, PA. A Service in Celebration of Philip's Life will begin at 8:00 PM from the O.M.P.H. Church with Rev. William Geiger, C.SS.R., as celebrant.

Ellen M. Carles, 75, formerly of 146 Park Street, Stevens, Lancaster County, died Wednesday morning, May 5, 2004, at 7:19 AM in the Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, where she resided since April 12, 2004. Born in Reamstown, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Paul R. and Maggie M. (Beck) Ansel, and was the widow of Millard Addison Carles who died September 13, 1971. She was a member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver. Ellen had been employed several years ago by Hope Hosiery Mill of both Reamstown and Adamstown, Lancaster County. She had been a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Adamstown VFW. Surviving is a daughter, Judy Elaine, marriage to Clarence Rutt, Jr., Stevens; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a sister, Carrie R. Buohl, Ephrata, PA.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 7th 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from our parlors.
The service celebrating Ellen's life will be held on Saturday morning, May 8th, 2004, at 10:00 AM with The Reverend Joyce A. Seip officiating. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, Lancaster County, PA.

Dorothy R. Craley, 71, of 511 Adamstown Road, Reinholds, Spring Township, Berks County, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at 6:00 AM in the Essa Flory Hospice Center, East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, where she was a patient for 3 days. Born in Adamstown, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Irene (Texter) Ludwig, and was the wife of Thomas J. Craley for 50 years on November 20, 2004. She was a member of Vinemont Community Lutheran Church, Vinemont, Berks County, and had been active in the Adamstown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a 1951 graduate of Wilson High School. Dorothy had been employed for over 40 years by Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown, and worked in their outlet store following retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing bingo. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Lori S., wife of Marvin Eberly, Reinholds, PA ; 6 sons, Gary J., husband of Debra (Ruffner) Craley, Reading, PA; Keith A., husband of Deborah L (Moyer) Craley; Mark S., husband of Tammy (Becker) Craley; and Shawn T. Craley, all of Reinholds, PA; Eric E., husband to Kimberly (Hibshman) Craley, Denver, PA; and James K. Craley, Mohnton, PA; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clair R., husband of Mary Ann (Schnader) Ludwig, Seminole, FL. Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, David L. Craley.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2005, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Services will begin at 11 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.

Rev. Jacob Eshelman Moyer

Rev. Jacob Eshelman Moyer, 85, of Salem, VA, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, in Richfield Recovery and Care Center in Salem, VA. Rev. Moyer was born on Sept. 14, 1919 in Elizabethtown, PA and was the son of the late Christian H. Moyer and Mae Eshelman Moyer.
He was a member of Ridge View Brethren in Christ Church in Roanoke, VA. During his life, Rev. Moyer was a minister with Brethren in Christ Church. He was a partner in Moyer s Potato Chip business in Elizabethtown, PA.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Jane Mummau Moyer. Rev. Moyer is survived by his wife, Ethel Cutlip Moyer of Salem, VA, three children, Doris Jean M. Capito of Danville, VA, Patricia M. Reiter of Lexington, VA, J. Larry Moyer of Philadelphia, PA, one sister, Esther M. Neyer of Mt. Joy, PA, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, two stepchildren, H.K. Cutlip, Jr., of Bluefield, WV, Jewel Kelley of Johnson City, TN and 1 step-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 at the Ridge View Brethren in Christ Church in Roanoke, VA with Dr. Peter von Keyserling officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM in the Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery in Lexington, VA. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
