Jane E. Spahr 81, formerly of 5431 Rainbow Drive East Petersburg, Pa. died Sunday morning at Shrewsbury Lutheran Nursing Center. Born in Penn Twp. she was the daughter of the late Elmer V. & Anna Mae Heagy Spahr. A 1941 graduate of the former East Hempfield High School Jane had worked in the payroll department at the former Lancaster Malleable Co. for 44 years retiring in 1986. A member of Hempfield Church of the Brethren for over 50 years she was formerly a choir member and Sunday school teacher. She also had been a member of the East Petersburg Historical Society. Her favorite pastimes included flower gardening and collecting dolls. Surviving are a brother Elmer V. husband of Betty Jane Becker Spahr of Manheim; a sister Miriam Arlene wife of Robert Boyce of York. She is also survived by a niece Marianne Matthews of York; nephews Stephen Boyce of York and Vincent E. Spahr of Manheim. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 23 at 11:00 A.M. from the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim, Pa. with Rev. Robert P. Vroon and Rev. Joseph L. Matthews officiating. Gwendolyn Joy Miller

Gwendolyn Joy Miller, 46, of 1347C Spencer Avenue, Lancaster, PA, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Friday at her residence.
Born in Elizabethtown, PA, she was the daughter of J. Leslie Miller of Elizabethtown and Josie R. Hoffer Weigel of Greencastle, PA. She was the step-daughter of Denver J. Weigel of Greencastle. A 1977 graduate of Mifflin Street School, Gwen enjoyed attending church and singing gospel songs and hymns. While living in Elizabethtown, she attended The Alliance Church of Elizabethtown. She enjoyed sharing her life with children, especially her many nieces and nephews. She found joy in talking with the employees of Fulton Bank, Zimmerman's Restaurant in Lancaster, and local shops.
Gwen was a client of Goodwill Industries in Lancaster for many years. In addition to her parents and step-father, she is survived by three brothers, Stephen J., h/o Marie L. of Milton Grove, PA, Kevin J., h/o Tammy L. Zimmerman Miller of Clear Spring, MD, and Alan L., h/o Melody A. Swartz Miller of Elizabethtown, sister, Phyllis J., w/o Daniel D. Kofalt of Woodbury, MN, a step-sister, Jodi K. (Weigel), w/o Gary R. Ebersole of Phoenix, MD, paternal grandmother, Eva Ruhl Miller of Lancaster, a step-grandmother, Mary Weigel Brobeck of Aliquippa, four aunts, Lois E. Hoffer of North Highlands, CA, Nancy P. (Hoffer), w/o Albert H. Stong of Glen Rock, Charlene (Miller) Fry of Turbotville, and Lois (Miller), w/o Richard Hilsher of Port Treverton, six nieces, and six nephews, and 21 cousins plus their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gregory A. Miller, maternal grandparents, George M. and Naomi (Bixler) Hoffer, paternal grandfather, Ezra E. Miller, three maternal aunts, Anna M. (Hoffer) Sprout of Harrisburg, Helen G. (Hoffer) Earhart, and Elizabeth (Hoffer) O'Rear, and a paternal uncle, Jay Melvin Miller.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 23 at 2:00 PM at the Frank S. Miller Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA with Rev. Walter B. Zimmerman and Rev. Ralph G. Ginder officiating. Private burial will be in Good's Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
There will be no viewing. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7-9:00 PM and on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.

Henry Charles Eshleman

Henry Charles Eshleman, 83, of 163 N. Ronks Rd., Ronks, died Saturday at home after a long illness. He was born in Intercourse to the late Henry D. and Katie B. Hershey Eshleman.
A graduate of East Lampeter High School, he worked at C.B. Hoober for 42 years as bookkeeper and parts department manager. A member of Trinity E.C. Church in Terre Hill, he enjoyed bowling, watching baseball and flower gardening. He served in the US Army in Europe during WWII.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Joan Vearnes Eshleman; daughter Freda G. Pletcher of Paradise; 2 sons, Gregory E. Eshleman of Ephrata and Donald L. Welsh of New Holland; 3 stepsons, Michael Dalmas of New Holland, Larry Dalmas of Parkesburg and Paul Dalmas of Quarryville; stepdaughter, Diane Dalmas of Ronks; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 2 brothers, Harold of Lititz and Clair of New Providence; and 2 sisters, Elsie Shelly of New Holland and Annis Denlinger of Lititz. Preceding him in death were his 1st wife Anna Welsh Eshleman, in 1974, and a brother Marlin.

Moses M. Weaver, 89, of Stevens, PA, died Sunday at Fairmount Homes Ephrata after a brief illness.
Survivors: wife, Verna Gehman Weaver, marriage 67 years on June 5th, son, Mervin H/O Sheila Staub Weaver, 4 daughters: Irene, W/O Earl White, Evelyn, W/O James White, Elsie, W/O Marvin Stauffer, Esther Mae, W/O Leland Seibel, 17 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers: Ammon, H/O Mary Weber Weaver, David, H/O Martha Kauffman Weaver.
Preceded in death by 8 brothers- Enos H., Harry H., Aaron H., Norman H., Joseph H., Clarence H., Martin M., & Allen M., and 4 sisters: Anna Oberholtzer, Lizzie Nolt, Bertha Weaver, & Mary Martin.
Born in East Earl Twp. he was a son of the late Joseph M. & Maria Z. Martin Weaver.
He retired from farming in 1977 & also worked at Favorite Mfg., New Holland several years. He was an avid gardener.
He was a member of the Denver Mennonite Church.

Elizabeth Jane Johnson

Elizabeth Jane Poole Johnson, 90, of Ephrata Manor, Ephrata, PA died on Sept.14th of natural causes.
Born in Ruffsdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Blaine H. and Florence Rager Poole; and, wife of the late Earl K. Johnson, who died in 1998.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1936 graduate of Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA. She taught elementary education in Western Pennsylvania in the late 30s', and in the Conestoga Valley School District in the mid 60s'.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ,Lancaster.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by three sons: Thomas E. of Annandale, VA; George B. of Mount Pelier, VT; and, David W. of Black Mountain, NC; and, eleven grandchildren.

Margaret A. Clasen

Margaret A. Clasen, 102, formerly of Queens Village, NY, died Monday evening at 11:55 PM in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata, where she resided since November 2, 2001. Born in Astoria, NY, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ida (Geed) Stott. Her husband Frank J. Clasen, died April 27, 1953. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, Queens Village, NY. Mrs. Clasen was a secretary for many years with Sterling Drugs, Inc., New York City. She enjoyed playing bridge. Surviving is a daughter, Joan Gallagher, Ephrata, with whom she resided since 1990; a son, Jerome F. Clasen, Patchogue, NY; 10 Grandchildren; 31 Great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A private viewing was held by the family from our funeral home. A private graveside ceremony celebrating Margaret's life will be held from Mount Olivet Cemetery, 6540 Grand Avenue, Maspeth, NY 11378.
Joseph N. Coleman
November 29, 1927 - July 3, 2002
Joseph N. Coleman, 74, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Wednesday at 5:45 PM in the Lebanon Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, South Lebanon Township, Lebanon County, where he was a patient since June 29th. Born in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, he was a son of the late Alfred J. Coleman and the late Sarah M. (Hugendubler) Coleman Klopp. He had worshipped in the Church of God denomination. Coleman was employed years ago at Woodstream Corporation, Lititz; the former Rosenau Brothers, Ephrata; and as a baker at a St. Louis, MO, Country Club for many years. He was a technical sergeant in the Army during World War II. Surviving are 3 daughters and 2 sons, numerous grandchildren; a sister, Sarah M., marriage to Paul Kelly, Rawlinsville, PA; 2 brothers, A. John, marriage to Del Rae (Steele) Coleman, Ephrata, with whom he resided; and David M. Coleman, Sarasota, FL. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Coleman, a brother, Martin Coleman, and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Ward and Helen Dissinger Yundt.
Joe's services will be held privately by the family. The burial will take place in Hershey Mennonite Cemetery, Derry Township, Dauphin County, PA
