Eris M. Hall
Eris M. Hall, age 85, formerly of 31 Church Road, New Providence, died Monday evening at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community where she resided since December of 2004. She was the widow of Cecil O. Hall who died December 1, 2002. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Ella Abrudgi Guidi. A homemaker, she was a member of Boehm’s United Methodist Church, Willow Street.
She is survived by 3 sons: Robert F. marriage to Linda Dinsmore of Virginia, Gary E. marriage to Arlene Stevens Hall of Bowie, MD, and Larry M. marriage to Carrie Poirier Hall of New Providence, and; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Norma DeMeza of St. Petersburg, FL and a brother, Vincent Guidi of Annedale, VA. Funeral services will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Boehm’s United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Those who desire may make contributions in Eris’ memory to Boehm’s United Methodist Church, 13 West Boehm’s Road, Willow Street, PA 17584.

Hazel M. Hamm
Hazel M. Hamm, 87, of Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, PA died on Monday, November 21, 2005. She was the wife of the late Garvin Woodrow Hamm who died in 1944.
Mrs. Hamm was a homemaker. She was born in Fulton Twp., daughter of the late Jacob and Hannah Skathway Fisher. She is survived by 4 daughter’s, Faye Weir of Oxford, PA, Patricia McDowell of Yuma, AZ, Joan Reisler of Oxford, PA, Barbara Turner of Holtwood, PA, 1 son; Richard, marriage to Fay Hamm of East Petersburg, PA, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sister’s Helen marriage to Dwight McCardell of Quarryville, PA, sister Grace Hayes of Oxford, PA. She was predeceased by her grandson Richard Hamm, and grand daughter Terri Bradford.
A private graveside service and burial will be held Friday, November 25, 2005 at the Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA serving the family.

Earl 'Doc' H. Harnish
Earl 'Doc' H. Harnish, 88, of 413 South Hillcrest Avenue, Quarryville, Pa died on Friday, September 8, 2006 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Nelda Ickes. 'Doc' was predeceased by his first wife Jennie M. Charles Harnish who died in 1985, and his second wife Helen Volland Harnish who died in 2000. 'Doc' had been employed as a salesman for Agway in the Quarryville store retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and gardening. He was a member of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, Quarryville.
Born in Drumore Twp., he is the son of the late Emanuel and Lila Esenberger Harnish. In addition to his wife Nelda, he is survived by his daughter Patricia marriage to Michael Dings of New Providence, Pa, 2 grandsons; Ryan, marriage to JoAnn of Quarryville, Benjamin, marriage to Erika of Pittsburg, Pa., a great grand daughter Keegan, step daughter’s Linda Kirk of Quarryville, Pa, and Kimberly Myers of Middletown, Pa. The Funeral Service will be held at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, 1392 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville on Monday, September 11, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor James Rhen officiating. Burial will be in the Quarryville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster PA 17604 or Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren Building Fund, 1392 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA 17566. Elsie Mae Eberly Henry
Elsie Mae Eberly Henry, age 95, formerly of Holtwood, entered into rest on Friday morning (March 10, 2006) at the Mennonite Home where she resided since July 2003. She was the widow of Girvin M. Henry, Sr. who died October 1983. Elsie was born in East Drumore Township, a daughter of the late Amos H. and Dora Rineer Eberly. She was a member of Rawlinsville United Methodist Church, Holtwood and the Happy Hours Senior Club in Lancaster. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery work, traveling on bus trips, reading, and going out to eat. Elsie was first employed as a housekeeper for Frank Mears of Millersville and then as a cook for the John Steiman Estate from which she retired.
She is survived by 2 sons, Harold R. marriage to Florence E. Burns Henry of Drumore, Girvin M. marriage to Patricia Swinehart Henry, Jr. of Holtwood; 2 daughters, Velma L. marriage to Ben Metzler of Holtwood, V. Jane marriage to J. Richard Winters of Kinzers; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Elsie was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John Eberly, Roy Eberly, Chester Eberly; and a sister, Viola Johnson. Funeral services will be held from Rawlinsville United Methodist Church, Truce Road, Holtwood, PA on Tuesday at 10:00AM with Pastor Alan Sumerfield officiating. Interment will follow in Conestoga Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church. Those who desire may make contributions in Elsies memory to Asera Care Hospice, 315 Primrose Lane, Mountville, PA 17554. Reynolds Funeral Home, Quarryville, PA serving the family.

Mary G. Hershey
Mary G. Hershey, age 99, formerly of Conowingo and New Providence went to be with her husband, Clarence and her son, Charles on Wednesday morning at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Mary was the widow of Clarence B. Hershey who died December 31, 1985. She was born in Bart Township, a daughter of the late John T. and Anna Mary Swinehart Groff. A homemaker, she was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Quarryville. Mary was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ann Hershey of New Providence; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles B. Hershey, Sr. who died November 1, 2003 and 2 brothers, Paul Groff and Willis Groff. Funeral services will be held from the Reynolds Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Friday, January 13, 2006 at 10:00AM. with Pastor John Longmire officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Quarryville Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17601.

Dosch, Earl Z.

EARL Z. DOSCH, 73, of 201 S. Shirk Road, New Holland, died Friday, March 26 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Dosch first worked at Lichty Brothers Body Shop in Terre Hill and later operated a farm in East Earl Twp. Later he worked as a plumber for the Witmer Company in New Holland and retired in 1993 from Tyson Foods in New Holland where he worked as a process technician. Since his retirement he worked for 6 years as a currier for Blue Ball National Bank. Born in East Earl, PA, he was the son of the late George F. Sr. and Maggie Zimmerman Dosch. He celebrated his 55th wedding anniversary on Dec. 11 to Janet Weidman Dosch. He was a member of the Hope United odist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Michael, marriage to Sharon Snyder Dosch of Lebanon; a daughter, Wanda, marriage to Tom Townsend of New Holland; 6 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Martin, marriage to Dorothy Peterman Dosch of East Earl, and George, Jr., marriage to Pat Herman Dosch of East Earl. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service, Monday, March 29 at 10 AM from the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA, with the Reverend Mary Jane Kirby officiating. Interment will be in the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 9 AM until the time of the service at the Funeral Home.

Esbenshade, Helen M.

Helen M. Esbenshade, 78, of 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, formerly of New Holland, died Saturday evening at Landis Homes of natural causes. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Martin) Esbenshade. Helen had been the housekeeper for Dr. Grace Kaiser of New Holland for 12 years. She was last employed by Landis Homes in the housekeeping department retiring in 1997. A member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, East Earl, she also was involved with the ladies sewing circle of the church. She had also done volunteer mission work. Surviving are six sisters: Velma Weaver, Lititz; Viola marriage to Roy Buch, Akron; Margaret marriage to Paul Wyble and Bertha marriage to Leon Martin, both of New Holland; Alice marriage to Earl Horst and Anna Mary marriage to David Horst, both of East Earl. She was preceded in death by a step-brother, Aaron Esbenshade. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Weaverland Mennonite Church on Wednesday at 2 PM with Bishop C. Kenneth Martin, Pastor Don Weaver, and Chaplain Donald Good officiating. Interment in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM and at the church Wednesday from 1 to 2 PM. If desired, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements.
